Hello everyone! My name is Andrea, I'm a life-long animatronics fan. I loved going to CEC when I was young to see the animatronics. My obsession got refueled by the confirmation of an old memory that's confused me since I was very young. I remembered going to see some type of animatronics show, but all I could remember of it was that there was a sun in the left corner of the setup that I kept mistaking for a sunflower. I went to CEC recently for my brother's party and afterward decided to research the animatronics. That's when I discovered RAE, and low and behold there was a sun on the left side of the setup. I showed it to my mom and she confirmed that what I had seen all those years ago was the RAE. (Adventure Landing in FL? Were they located there in the 90's?) I've been researching/drawing/obsessing over them since, Beach Bear in particular. I'm glad to have found this website! :)

Anyway, I'm 17 (18 in May), and I live in San Diego. I make mascot costumes/dolls/etc., draw, and do general crafty things. I'll be going to college soon to get a career in F/X, including animatronics.

Hey Andrea! Was wondering if you'd posted an introduction post, and it's really swell to meet you! I'm a (somewhat) recent member m'self and I hadn't even HEARD of the REA until I came here, I was more rooted in the old CEC animatronics. But I found this place and instantly fell in love with the RAE, even hope to see them in person someday soon.

Can't wait to see more of your art, it's been absolutely brilliant so far and actually puts me in the mood to get back to some of my stuff I was posting.

Anyway, welcomes n' such!

I have to agree with that, myself. I've been through a number of fandoms, some of which I'm still active in (video games, pro wrestling, anime, Harry Potter). This one by far is the coolest, most low-key, down-to-earth group out there. Seriously. Most other fandoms are just filled with... well... to use a nice phrase, putting it lightly, "extremely enthusiastic and spirited" individuals. o_O

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm swamped with requests for RAE art! I love drawing the RAE though, so I'm happy. I even got an assignment from my teacher, who's an RAE fan, to draw an RAE-themed children's book. That should be fun.
