Issues with my job at CEC

I was thinking maybe if any of you guys pop in tonight, RAE or CEC fan doesn't matter, could come into the chatroom tonight where I will be hanging for a while. I'd like to share some problems I am having and I feel like I may quit CEC.|I

I cannot post the issues here because this stuff isn't meant for the public to read, plus JC the DM could read it(I was told he reads the board time to time) so I rather share in the chatroom, I really need some help because no one at my store seems to care.:(

Yes, it's a cartoon character/mascot/costumed character thing.

In fact, I'm affiliated with local volunteer costume character performing troup in the New York City area and we call ourselves Hi-4 (http://hi-4.org).

I'm right there with ya Matt because hours are becoming an issue as well as too many days. Does anyone else think that 6 days a week should mean 40 + hours. I'm only getting 29 in 6 days.

Not really... I can see you doing a lot of midshifts, training or some other task. During the summer hours are cut big time because thinsg get slow. But if you think about it, in a way it makes sense. People out here ask to do truck days for the extra time or reorganize the merch wall. Speaking of which... lol, that needs to be done this week down here.

I don't think it is fair to have to work 6 days for only 29 hours. The sad thing is if a salary manager has to work six days. They get extra money than if they just would have worked 5 days, and it doesn't even matter how many hours they work.

Salary managers are generally supposed to work between 40 and 50 hours a week. Some DMs make GMs schedule salary managers for 50 hours, where other DMs want you towork around 45 this way if you overlap each day a little bit its alright.

Not fair? It would be a privelige to work only 29 hours in 6 days if you ask me. Understand that the company is not in the business of handing out paychecks and that at the very least you're being allowed to work so many times a week to earn your money. If it's not enough, you obviously have enough free time to get a 2nd job. Too lazy for that? Then maybe you don't need the money. Oooff, what was that evil that came spewing from my mouth? I apologize already, but it's become a pet peeve of mine to hear people want more hours "But I can't work wednesdays, I need to go home early on saturday, I don't want to do kidcheck..."

I've been there before working those 6 day workweeks but only around 30 hours...it happens. Now that I'm a manager, I really can't complain about that stuff. I really wish I could go back to those days, instead of these 10-12 hour days busting my butt 5 or 6 days a week! Today is my 12th day in a row! It's time for a break!
It's the way the business works. Unless you're full-time or management, they'll schedule you when they need you! My bro does the same as you, works 6-7 days a week, but only gets 25-32 hours a week. So just so you know, you're not the only one.
