)My question is...Why are most CEC's trashing Memory Match??!! I freaking LOOOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEE this game! I cannot even describe going into 2 of the 3 CEC's in my area seeing no more CECMM. My face went into complete awe. I think it's cause it's extremely outdated, but still that game rules. If they can keep that crappy "Tic-Tac-Toe" game that doesn't even work (>: ), then I'm sure they can keep an outstanding conditioned CECMM. Ugh, the times...:rolleyes :(

My guess would be becuase it is heavily themed with "past" CEC images....as in, Chuck is shown in a form that is so totally different from what he is today! He even SOUNDS different! He even still has his tail and whiskers..that is how old it is!
The other more logical reason is the fact that it is a old game..and CEC prides itself on trying to keep the games fresh and new every few years. Memory Match is a fave of mine too....and i will be sad to see it go...but time rolls on and everything must have a end.

Man, I'm want to try to salvage the board out of one of those things so I can use it as a mame game on the computer, I know there's a way to do this cause it's been done with games like The Simpsons and TMNT's...

Aww I loved Memory Match! I will miss playing it, as I do miss helping my former store's guests playing it as Chuck E. peeking over their shoulders.
If you are able to salvage the game board, any way you can save that ROM as a MAME file and post it somewhere? I'd love to download that and try to get it to run on my PSP.

This is one of the game in my opinion that needs to leave my Gameroom (I say my becuase I'm the Gameroom Trainer and Preventative Maintenence Guy) as well as Magical Truck, Double Cheese, Funny Celete, and Cavemainia.

Pizza (and others whom are interested):
The board the game uses should be simply a JAMMA board, which is the standard board for most games. These can very easily be plugged in and the ROM (game information) dumped (copied) to a computer for archival purposes, and is completely legal, provided you own the original board.
The board most likely has a slight addition to support the multiple buttons, but that is unnecessary if you are just in need of the board.
I would be willing to help with any projects related to this, as I have considerable arcade and computer technician experience. (and nothing better to do) I have dumped my own games as well, my favorite being ALIENS from 1987, so it should not be too difficult to help anyone interested.

I'm surprised we have so many CECMM haters here...what gives?!? I love EVERYTHING from this game, from swipeing your token in (well, used to put your token in), to the shock on Pasqually's face and the way his mustache goes all funky when you pick his door when looking for someone else. If someone could, PLEASE post it on here so I can play it again. I seriously have not played it in like a year. :(

This game is a classic. How can CRAP games like Tic Tac Toe, Bozo's Grand Prize Game ( hate that thing with a passion..) any game that involves balls ( except Skeeball) and those pointless "kiddie skill games" that last all but three seconds LIVE ON and a classic like CEC MM is shipped out????
THERE IS NO JUSTICE!!
Personally, i like Cavemania. I play when i visit Shiny Happy Danvers. I always play Memory Match, Skeeball, and yeah okay...i'll admit i also play "CEC Acres" for the egg-citing novelty factor. I also like TMNT as it is one of the only true "video games" left there ( not some silly simulator or racing game..yawn..). Oh...and Ripper Ribbit too. They need more fun games like this.
Now Frog Ball, that thing is a legend! LOL!!!

Jypsy...
It would be awesome to get this ROM ripped and then preserved. Would you need an emulator to run it on, or would you be able to encode it into perhaps an online playable version (flash)?
I don't know that much about them, and technology seems to keep getting more impressive. Last I recall, you needed to have some sort of dedicated emulator (like NESticle) to interpret the ROMs.
If these are being removed, and most likely junked, I would love to be able to rip a copy of it so it's not lost like so much other stuff is. Someone find us a board. ;)

I'm with Vega here......it would be AWESOME to have this enter the Fan Network somehow.
Next time a game is junked, someone do a DumpsterJump!

Or if someone's awesome with Flash, they could make a Flash version of Memory Match! I probably wouldn't be able to, since I only know how to program Flash movies and not Flash games.

Well, Brookfield has Memory Match, Tic-Tac-Toe, The Simpsons,
Yeah, I was in utter shock tonight when I went to Brookfield and found all three of these games gone. It was also VERY plesent when this little ghetto kid came up to me and asked me for my token card, and then another that crawled into the Basketball game as I was going to play it, then took all of my Skee-balls from the lane as I was playing Skee-Ball. For any people in Wisconsin, I really hate to say that Brookfield is now worse than Chase.

Why couldn't CEC update Memory Match with current looking CEC characters (including current Chuck E. and current Helen) and make the game computer animated looking?

The Wayne, NJ location still has their MM thankfully. Once it's scrapped, I'm gonna go dumpster-diving. I'll try and get the rom-chipo and port it to an emulator on my laptop. I'll then put it on a file and share it with you. That's only if I can get it by Dumpster-Diving.
Updating it will be sort the same as removing it. They'll get rid of the "classicness" of MM into a "hip" and "cool" MM for people to play.
Note to self: When going on vacation to Wisconsin, don't go into Brookfield.

I use to play the game all the time.
As a matter of fact every store that I've been to has had that game in it.

Brookfield isn't all that bad...it's just a few devil children that ruin it. We have plenty of them down here in Lakeland too, and it's only getting worse.

I'm sorry if this post may bump the thread, but I'm wondering if anything has happened. I'm wondering if anyone has scored a borad yet. Also, some newer members might have additional info on MM.
Back on topic, around March I'm going back to the Wayne store to see if they still have MM. I'll also soon check the North Bergen store, as my high school is literally 2 blocks away on Tonnelle.
And chucki233, please make one. It doesn't matter if it doesn't have sound. Just make one!!! I'M DESPERATE TO PLAY IT!!!!

We ask for you to bump existing threads! It's better than making a new one and cluttering up the forum. This is how you earn brownie points. ;)
One a side note: A old store here finally received its phase 4 remodel, they had games dating back to ancient times, including Memory Match. They tossed all those oldies, but kept MM because it was a big seller. I managed to play it...and it's quite entertaining.
I thought I would throw this out there for all you MM lovers that the game still exists.

So, does anyone still have Memory Match at a local CEC?? There hasn't been one in SE Wisconsin since about 2005, and I haven't played one since around then. I really wish a video could surface, or an audio clip of gameplay. Or better yet, if anyone has been grateful enough to find the board and get it up on their computer. Any news?

There IS an online version of Memory Match, actually. A friend of mine linked me to a site that (I THINK) had it up for download a few months ago. I'll try to find the link.

We have the Flintstones Memory Match at our CEC too. I don't think we have CEC Memory Match, because we moved and got brand new games w/the Phase 3 remodel.
