So today I'm working on the SpongeBob JellyFish game trying to get the tickets to come out, and I get a call to go to Yoo-Hoo Punch. So I'm still working on JellyFishing, and a woman comes up to me and says, "Did you get the call for Yoo-Hoo Punch?" And I politly say, "Yes, I'll be there as soon as I can." Now here's where the story gets funny...
I go over to Yoo-Hoo Punch, and ask what's wrong, how many tickets did you win, the basic. And the woman says, "We won 4 tickets, but they didn't come out..." So I open up the ticket door, and see the roll broke off, so I put it back into the metal slot, press all the buttons inside, and finally 4 tickets come out. I grab them and say, "Here you are!" Now, this lady's looking at me all bamboozled, and says, "4 TICKETS?!?!? BUT WE WON THE JACKPOT!!!!" And I go...
Me: "But you said you won 4, and when I pressed the button only 4 came out...that mean's you won only 4."
Her: "Are you kidding? Why would I *censored* about only 4 tickets, we won the jackpot! I mean first you got us waiting for 20 minutes, then give us the wrong amount!"
Me: "Yes, I'm sorry about the wait, but you see, I'm the only one out here and a majority of these games need help with."
Her: "So how's that our fault??"
Me: "I didn't say it was your fault, I'm just apologizing for the wait because I've got so many games to attend to."
Then she gets all crabby and screams, "you know what, you're rude. Really rude. And I'm reporting you to the manager."
This was when I started getting a little mad because I was being as polite as I can, and this was also my first time doing GRA by myself. Lucky for me though, my manager didn't care. But still, some people...

Some of these bratty soccer moms can be a pain in the butt from what I've heard. Same goes for old people. I think this woman was trying to get more tickets for her kids by cheating, and saying they won 4, then they won the jackpot. She needs to take it easy on you, especially since its the first time you're the GRA.

Dude, that happened to me a lot when I worked at cec, some people cussed me out and other b/s. You just gotta ignore that and move on. I know people can get really downright rude, but ignore that and move on.

Ugh. Rude customers. It amazes me what people will throw a fit over. No matter if I've seen it at my day job where people have a hissyfit over $4000 in furniture, my second job over $4 in pizza, or hearing this over 4 tickets... people throw the same equal fit over something totally ridiculous. If only there was a way to check people's attitudes and demeanors before they purchase things to ensure they won't be acting extremely preposterous if something goes wrong. =\

Yeah, I just needed to blow off some steam last night.

I heard at my store before I worked there that a fight broke out because people wanted to know...who was taller. Not even kidding...

That's pretty ridiculous. Machines don't magically cheat you out of tickets. She was trying to confuse you and get more tickets for free, but it backfired and she got pissed off! It's no wonder children are so violent. Their parents act as immature as the child they have. You tried your best to handle the situation, but perhaps she was in a rage lol.

The otherday my dad was playing skeeball and won like 10 tickets but when the GRA came over it said he only won four, so mabey those numbers can be wrong sometimes.

Ugh, I'm real sorry that happened to you man, I don't know why but it still amazes me how ludicrously rude people can get over the most asinine things. I know the best thing to do in such situations (least, if you work there) is to ignore such people, but if I'd been a customer and heard that I'd probably given her a piece of my mind. It's not their fault you were the only one, but neither was it your fault she was a whinny little impatient, lying BIMBO who, gosh forbid she fork over a few more bucks to get more tickets because, well, it'd come out of her precious manicure and hair product money...gimme a break.
I'm really getting fed up with rude people lately, I mean, I come from NY and I used to think we were pretty bad...then I moved to southern Cali where people are not only rude, but crazy! It's just sheer madness, whatever happened to people considering other peoples feelings, honestly? You were being painfully nice to her and all she could do was gripe and give you a hard time. I don't know, if she was a soccer mom like Larry said, maybe her ponytail was too tight on her scalp or something...
but it's still no excuse.

One of my fellow cast members got an ice cream thrown at his head from the ice cream machine the other night from some angry mom. I guess she got the wrong one, and one of the other cast members gave her a dollar to get the right one, somehow she was annoyed and grabbed the other ice cream and just threw it at my friend's(who had nothing to do with the situation...) head, and the mother stormed out of there before the my GM could of seen her...:-O
I'm sorry you had to go through this Ryan....stupid dead beat mothers thinking the world belongs to them. It makes me hate people in general.

Actually, today I found out they can. At the ticket muncher we were putting in a bunch, it counted up to 70+, and the tickets got twisted funny, but it pulled them in as normal, but reset to zero and began counting again to 20. We called a cast member who fixed it by checking it over, and reeling out a ton of tickets (20 or so more than we told him we'd won) and feeding it in to the machine.
Gotta be careful how those things go in.

GEEZE. That makes me think of a fight breaking out at the warehouse at my day job. It's a furniture store, with an on-site warehouse for customer pick-up. No joke, we had two customers slugging it out with each other over the LAST END TABLE IN STOCK. We've got prices so cheap for furniture, customers will throw down over who gets final possession. XD >_>

Man, I HATE those Ticket Munchers!!! We've got 5 of 'em and about every 20 minutes I get the call to fix them. They're a pain!!
Thanks everyone for understanding...I mean, I love my job, but there's just some times when I just wanna scream! Which reminds me of today when I was Chuck E., and some know-it-all 7 year old comes up to me, knows I'm fake, and tries to prove it...by pulling up my shirt when I'm not looking, trying to pull my gloves off, punching my head with all his might...Brookfield is crazy!!!

Yeah, Brookfield has a bad rep, but you're not alone. I've had tons of problems over the 6+ years I've worked with the company. You never know the stupidity you're going to see or hear from people day in and day out at Chuck E Cheese.
You know what's even better than being a gameroom attendant being called rude? Being a manager and being called rude! ;)

I can relate.
MOM (In a very thick hispanic accent) : You took my kids tickets away?
Me: Just the ones that came out of skeeball. He can't climb on the lanes, and he did.
Mom: Well, you should have warned him first.
Me: Mam, with all due respect, this was the forth time I've caught him cheating. He promised me he wouldn't, and I told him I'd take the tickets away if I caught him cheating again.
Mom: You should have warned him not to cheat first
Me: Mam, I just told you that...
Mom: Give me the tickets.
Me: I can't. I'm sorry.
Mom: Give me the tickets or I'm going to talk to the manager.
Me: Mam, your son cheated to play the games, I warned him, he still did it.
She goes and gets the manager, who ALSO tells her she can't. She storms out, and calls the freaking CORPORATE line. They give her a guest pass. Can you believe it?! A GUEST PASS. For cheating on skee ball. Wow.

Ugh. And this is the society we live in. You get ratted out for being good and rewarded for being bad.
This is one of the many reasons why I'm not going to be a parent. I can't raise a kid in a world like this.

Yep. Like I've said before, many parents nowdays seem to suck. The few out there who still teach their kids right and wrong shoould be awarded. It's such a rarity nowdays.
All of their lying, and cheating, and sheer stupidity has turned me from a people-person to a people-hater.
(I can't stand stupid people.)

Unfortunately, the ratio of smart to stupid people had altered dramatically in the wrong way. The stupid people outweigh the good and smart ones 1,000,000/4.... This is exaggerated ballpark estimating mind you.

Oh yeah. I so hear ya. I've always been a people-person for as long as I've lived. The first job I held, working drive-thru at Carl's Jr., stemmed from my desire to be a better drive-thru person than what I've seen going to McD's and BK when I was a kid. I hated the horrible service. So I made a difference at my first job, which led me to getting hired to the second job I currently work at, and where I've been ever since, rocketing through the company from cashier to accountant.
Of course, I still had to have a people-person job on the side, 'cause I find the desk boring. But through the years working retail part-time, it's beginning to grind on me. I've encountered more morons in that mall than I care to deal with. The quality of people I serve just seem to get worse with each passing year.
So I agree, I feel like a people-hater, sometimes. At the mall I deal with stupid customers. At the office, I deal with stupid co-workers. I really don't know what's worse. =\
