Have you ever cheated at CEC?

I tried today at "The Simpsons: Kooky Carnival" it had a glitch where you can shake the coin shooter and get one ticket every shake. I was doing that and I got caught. Here is the exact dialogue:


Manager: That's a pretty cool trick ya go there.
Manager: I'm going to have to compensate these tickets.
Manager: If you bring any tickets to the counter I'm going to compensate those too. Because I don't know if you got those from this game or not.

After every sentence I was so scared and all I said was "ok".

So basically, I want to know if any of you other guys has done this or something similar. I learned my lesson by the way. Never cheat if there is a chance you'll get caught. =)) LOL

we had a kid cheat at skeeball and get the grand prize, but he never got caught, only i saw him, but i didnt rat him, after all he's just a kid and one day he will learn that cheaters never prosper!

True....Im one on the GRA's at my store. 3 weeks ago, we had these kids, looked to be about 12 or 13. So anyway, our skee-balls have that TILT thing. So what these kids were doing, was they were standing on the skee-ball lane next to it, and tossing it the other one, and gettting the grand prize. I didnt get to take action because I was fixing this little girls game. ( She won 25 tickets on the Sonic Spinner btw lol.) Also, someone elses game too. Well anyway, everytime I passed by those kids the would look at me out of the corner of thier eyes. So they know they did it first of all.

Still, when I went to CEC. I never cheated on the games. To tell u the truth, I never even though about it:-/

Yeah that was pretty stupid of me. Peer pressure is something you just have to resist. But, anyways they try to cheat at Skeeball all the time at my CEC too.

Also, that is something I will NEVER do again mainly because the manager looked like some dude off of a mafia movie.

Well, I've never cheated by standing on the skeeball machines or anything (I like showing my skills off and respect the machines enough to not go stomping all over them) but the High Tops basketball game (for those who may be drawing a blank...it's the shoe-shaped basketball game for kids) is one that I love playing, even though I'm as tall as the machine (actually taller) and I just put the balls through the hoop... I even miss a few times... So I'm not sure it technically counts as cheating if I'm missing the hoop. :))

The Tilt sensors are always broken, so they don't catch walk up cheaters on Skee Ball.
People like to use napkins to block the metal on CEC magic.
People like to tear the red button off tower power and steal tickets out.
People like to like about Spongebob. And NASCAR Pinball.
I have a list.

Don't cheat my games. Even if I'm in the CEC costume I will walk up to you and pull you away from the game. Ever see Chuck do an uppercut on a teenager? No? Then don't cheat my games. It's the most frustarting thing to have to put up with while trying to clean tables, fill tickets, do coindrop, keep kids safe, answer pointless gamecalls, dust the games, fill the napkins, sweep under the tables, sweep the floor, do merch counter, clean trays, run pizzas, clean puke and pee out of skytubes, and do live shows. I love my job, but your not helping.

I used to cheat at other arcades on the mini kiddy basketball hoop and the Bozo Grand Prize game but don't remember ever cheating at CEC.

Hey did anybody ever do the ticket counter trick? Where you pull the ticket in and out of the ticket counter? It would still count as one ticket everytime you did it.

I'm too nervous to cheat at anything after being caught at Toys R Us 'stealing' Cars toys (they were all falling out of the packages in the bin, so I was picking them up). D:

I was at CEC a week ago and there was a machine next to the Skee-ball machines, I don't recall what it was (something with an alien perhaps?), but it didn't have any balls and every few minutes it would spit out two tickets.

That'd be Dunk 'N' Alien...my machine has a similar problem, and it gets annoying having to go attend to it so often...

i recently tried that trick with the ticket machine hack, i did it right, but i ticket amout goes up and then i notice it went down, so am i doing it right, or does the machine lol know im cheating.

I never cheated at any of the games at cec, cause I beat all the games whenever I go.

The ticket munchers can be adjusted not to be cheated. It all depends on how much the tech. / GM cares about that particular problem. If the machine is dirty and not maintained properly you can cheat it very easily.

I maintain my stuff and adjust the sensitivity so the ticket number will actually go backwards. It's funny to watch people try and then lose tickets. Make's my day everytime!

Now that I did not know. The machines did not even scan the tickets on the one I was using. You could insert paper with holes and use that to cheat the machine. Actually, thats what I was using. But its good knowing CEC is aware of the fact the Ticket Munchers can easily be cheated. Let me also say the Ticket Munchers look so old fashioned. When I look inside I see all those boards for technically just scanning a ticket, counting, printing, and having support for adding to a value or decreasing it by a button as well as of course normally increasing the value. It seems like you could integrate that all into one board.
