i dont think the whole community should have to suffer because there are a few bad apples out there.
i would prefer to see "for sale" section posts show up immediately like all the other sections. then if there is a post that should be taken down, a mod can do so at their discretion.
with the way it is now... i'll have to wait who-knows-how-long until who-knows-who gets a chance to go online, visit this site, and take time to approve posts.
does anyone else agree or do people like the way it is now?

I think the reason they have it the way it is is because there were time where spambots would post junk and stuff and they want to catch stuff like that BEFORE it reaches the forum

There is no spam because it has been removed. Yes, at one time the SPAM was actually very bad. Another reason for the moderation of for sale items is to try insure that no items are being listed which might be copyright protected or cause legal repercussions with their sale via this site. Being proactive is the members of the forum from unsavory transactions which could give the website a bad reputation.
The site is monitored and posts are usually approved in less than 24 hours.

Totally agree here... maybe you could at least give a few others the ability to approve the posts...

I agree as well, it does appear that the group is being punished for the actions of a few - BUT I also understand that sometimes you can't make everyone happy.
I know if you got caught selling stuff you shouldn't on Ebay - YOU lose your ebay account... they don't lock EVERYONE out.
But, on the other hand - this is not a publicy owned business, it is a non profit web page run by one person - and with that in mind, HE makes the rules. So, anything Travis does to make the web page less of a pain in the ass for him is fine with me.

well im glad to see others agree with me. but i guess on the other hand we all understand now why its the way it is. i sure wouldnt want the site to get a bad rep or shut down cuz of someones post.
as gabriel said, maybe we can just give a couple more people the ability to approve posts?
hey wait a second... beth is back... :P hi

I did a post in the For Sale section a few weeks ago, and it is still not on there. Does anyone know what the problem is?

One of the Mods probably didn't approve it.

Actually I kicked this one around and opted to not approve it because of copyright concerns. I know we have video clips and documents and other material posted to the website but there's a reason we don't have a Mp3 section (yet).
Sharing of Mp3s is something I've been wary about, simply because it's just as easy to download a studio-quality song as it is to download a crappy quality video clip. I'm not entirely sure what CEC or CEI's thoughts are about sharing of songs - whether its of no concern, or whether this is something that they may want to market at some point.
Anyway that's why the posts didn't get approved. There's lots of fans who have the tracks and are happy to share, but posting a want list in the For-Sale section is something we kinda frown upon. In fact it's listed in the Conduct Code. ;)

I did not post about MP3's. I posted about wanting two RAE things.
