Do you think the 2005 Peter Jackson remake of "King Kong" opening December 14, 2005 at theatres will be better than the original 1933 version with Fay Wray and the 1976 remake version with Jessica Lange?

Funny you should mention Peter Jackson, I'm trying to track down one of his movies called 'Meet The Feebles' from 1989, an adult puppet movie, does anyone remember this flick?

I am so excited to see "King Kong!" I saw the preview for it recently, and it looked soooo good!

Mat, I remember "Meet the Feebles" I had no idea Peter Jackson directed it though. I only saw a minute or so of it, and it seemed disturbing....(to me anyways). But try Ebay or Amazon, they must have it....

Yeah I bought Feebles off of Amazon recently, but I don't know if it went through right(the credit card number that is) but I think it must have, so the movie could come here sometime this week and I'll let you all know how disturbing it was.;)

The 2005 version of King Kong is 3 hours and several minutes long! I bet it measures up to other 3 hour+ long movies like "Schindler's List", "Titanic", and all 3 "Lord of the Rings" movies.

This movie was so incredible. I want to go see it again! Jack Black was awesome, Naomi Watts was awesome, I loved all the CGI creatures. Yes, it was over three hours, but I loved every minute of it.

Hey Danny, I went with Jenn to see it! She loved it too, and yes, I would say she's very much into those kind of films. Anything imaginative. Have you seen it yet?

King Kong was awesome !!!

It did NOT feel like a 3 hour movie at all...seriously. I was pretty into it and the story, characters, and settings were so engrossing that you were swept away for what seemed only a hour and a half.

Kong himself kicked butt. He was awesome! The sets were incredibly well done, especially the recreation of 1930's NYC.

Great stuff.....next trip i'll be seeing "Narina".

My cousin and I just got back from this movie, and I must say it was absolutley MAGNIFICENT!!!!! Jack Black, at times I thought, was somewhat funny, especially with his line, "Donate a proceed to his wife and children...I'm gonna finish this movie just for him!" (which he said for about 3 people that died), and also that one guy goes "only one monster can make something like that...adomadial snowman!" hahha great movie. Very touching ending....I may go back this weekend.

Jack Black was the worst casting I have ever seen in a movie. Why is he "funny"? I wasn't sure if I was watching a hollywood movie or a Play Station video game.

It's good. Glad I saw it in a large theatre. But Not the best of the year.

It was quite good...I am not a fan at all of the LOTR so I was dredding the fact it was 3 hours long.. To my surprise, it went by quick once the beginning 30 minutes lol past.....Menutia, I thought Jack Black was OK in here...You gotta listen to his Tenacious D cd then maybe you'd think he's funny? Then again, maybe then you'd hate him more, I guess it all depends..

lol Tenacious D is awesome! You just need to listen to him real carefully in this movie to laugh at him, just like I pointed out before, he says all this stuff about 3 people that's excatly the same. Everyone in the theatre was laughing. Also when everybody is being killed by the dinosaurs and Kong, he's not helping anyone but instead filming it all for his movie. He's kinda like a macho-jerk movie producer, you know?

I thought Jack was, dare i say, perfectly cast as the snotty film maker. There were a lot of in jokes thrown out to those in the know in the film industry which made it a clever stab at there own business really. I have not seen any of Jack's other works ( sans his voicework in "Shark Tale") but i was impressed enough with his perfomance in Kong.

He seemed to fit the character well and held my attention most of the time he was on screen.

I liked how the recreated the feel of the 30's in this movie...very well executed even it it was all just a digital playground. I agree though that Menutia hit the mark saying it's hard to tell if you are watching a movie, or a video game! So many movies now rely so heavily on CG and digital effects its becoming annoying in a way. I see these effects and it's sad to realize the great art form that is now being lost because of it...mainly all the REAL effects work that used to be done with models, stop motion animation, and sheer creative cleverness. Having everything now "digitized" is such a cop out. Where's the "art" in that?

I saw it again the other night! I love this movie. I think you could describe Jack Black's character as more of a self-obsessed movie director...

I totally agree it's like a video game, especially the part at the end where they show the inside panel of the plane as it flies towards Kong. Ha, I saw this movie for the 1st time on a Friday, then I saw it again Sunday. I just love this film.
