as you may know i'm from Michigan and Ford Motor company is a Detroit Icon. Tell me this how can Ford Pay for the SuperBowl, Name a stadium after the company (Ford Field) and yet Lay off 30,000 workers at the same time. One major plant in Wixom Mi. which is a suburb of Detroit is closing. Whats your opinion.

I work at a Ford dealer -
And I bet my feelings are the same as yours about Ford.
It's a sin how the once proud American company has run its self into the ground. This has been going on for years, but it is just now starting to show.
Quality has been a consistant problem, each year Ford says; "We've got it fixed... there won't be any more problems from now on..." but then the next one pops up. (Anyone remember the Contour? Probe? 98 Windstar? 00 Focus? The new 6.0 Diesel?)
Ford has turned from being an innovator of products (The Taurus) to a builder of "me too" products. The focus has been on the wrong areas for years.
As a dealership employee - we have felt this for a long time, it's just now that Detroit is starting to feel the same thing dealers have been feeling for years...
It's a shame that so many good people are going to lose their jobs for errors made by the people that are running the company.
The good news is they HAVE to fix the problems they have - becasue if they don't, you will see them (and probably GM too) get bought out by some other company (Toyota...).
Just my two cents...
