Ditto... I build my own too. It does save a lot of money and plus you can get the parts you want.... not the junk that tends to come with some of the factory jobs.

when im home from college on weekends i use my mom's HP laptop.

MY computer that i have out at college which i refuse to get rid of is a '97 or '98 Packard Bell updated to the max by my brother. I heart that computer even tho 99% of people say they are Packard Hell. It has lasted this long hasn't it? It's got the original monitor with the mounted speakers and the original keyboard as well. The mouse went a long time ago unfortunately.

I have 2 working PC's and a ton of PC parts, one's custom-build, the other's a Dell Optiplex. The custom build is my main PC and the Dell is my personal Web server.

I'm chatting to you now via my Sony VIAO.

It's my one and only "PC"....thought technically it's a laptop. Suits me perfectly, as i simply do not have the space ( let alone a table!) in my room to put a full Comp' setup on.

I use my laptop basically as a phone really....to post on Message Forums like this and send e-mail. I rarely use it to do anything else...well, maybe a few purchases on Ebay ...lol....!

My other "computer" is my pride n' joy: An Atari 2600! Woo hoo!!

At home I use my Apple Imac G5 which I purchased on Apple.com under the refurbished area...it's a 20" and paid only $1100 including tax...on the road I use my Power Book which is reburbished...great deal and can resell a year later for the amount I paid for on eBay...therefore I can keep a current computer at all times. Loaded Virtual PC and can run all programs.

Jenn,

I'm disapointed! I fully expected you to say that you posted using a custom retrofit "Cyberamics" computer! Or at least tell me you use an old DART for a keyboard?

Anyone out there still using an Apple II? How about an "Anti-Gravity Freedom Machine"? Who here has seen those?
