Whats up with the Newington, NH CEC? I looked in the photo gallery and I don't see a show, just a T.V on a stage. Any info on this?

Looks more like a cabaret stage to me. Maybe the store was a PTT that kept its cabaret stage with the CEC remodel, and they probably just stuck a TV on that stage. Maybe it was a King stage - it's got that kind of fence around it!
I think I remember an earlier thread that had that same kind of TV setup, and apparently they found evidence of a Dolli Dimples show behind it.

Before the store was remodeled a couple years ago, the store def. had a nostalgia feeling to it, that room with the tv is not the showroom. It was the, like harvey said, is the old caberat room, and the in that store was a rare 'quiet dining/private party' room, and it had the big tv in there along with the postcard posters, the Live rolling bone poster, plus an extra glass square with the CEC neon sign like the main showroom would use above the 2-stage's big screen. It was def. unique, but once the phase 4 remodel came to this store, all the nostalgia, plus that room, went.:bbsad:

Pardon my potty mouth, but this was my reaction to this.
What. The. ****.
No seriously. What is that? Uhg... ...
...I'm sorry, I hope I'm not the only one who is pissed at the fact that more and more the robots just seem to be taken away, and replaced with dumb ass tvs.....
(Sorry if this comment is off topic, or angry, its just, the way Chuck's is now, really ticks me off.)

In regards to the private room: The Portage Mi. location has a private room and they have a tv, show speaker as well as Pictures. It is used for birthdays that don't want to see Chuck E. or for meetings in the district.. FYI this location has studio c alpha.. :cecwink:

well I don't think HE was directly responsible. they needed the extra space for guests and by removing all this stuff (unfortunatly) they got it.

I still think its stupid, lol.
lol, birthday without Chuck. Why the heck would you go to Chuck E. Cheese if you didn't want to see Chuck @ your birthday?
Thats dumb.

I did. Course my parents were too cheap to get any birthday packages, we just did a standard visit and then went home for the cake and gifts. Come to think of it, I rarely saw the walkaround Chuck due to the fact I usually went when no one else in the store was having a birthday(I never saw the 92 Birthday Star), and I only ever saw them do one Live in all the trips I went. Oh well, still getting to see the show was good enough for me.

I wonder if you can request for Chuck to come out... hm. Never had it happen before...
I do believe Chuck is actually suppose to see you even if you are walk in. In the training video, the walk in birthday person, got a visit from them. Hm.

Yes, it's standard for walk-in parties to also recieve a visit form Chuck.

Correct it's standard. It should be done 100% of the time regardless of labor... ok DM's/GM's/Mangers out there.

lol, oops...
(Maybe I should be a manager, I always flip out when a kid comes in who is a walk in, ut they don't get to see Chuck!!!)
We're way off topic.

It is also Standard that Chuck be out on the floor regardless. "Every Guest sees Chuck E. Cheese..." and they are NOT talking about the robotic version!
Stores need to remember that people come to CEC for fun, and kids love seeing Chuck E. in person ( for the most part..). It is a shame when you go to a Store with little ones and Chuck is no where to be found. I have even seen situations where Guests ask for Chuck and are brushed off.
Very "bad show".

Sorry for bumping this thread up, but I just had to respond to this person.
This IS NOT the showroom. This location still has their 2-stage show, and it's not like they carted away the show and replaced it with a TV. The Newington store gets PACKED everyday, so they need that separate room for walk-in parties, and just for more seating areas. They took out a lounge act that was from the 80's that was also removed at every other CEC/PTT around the country! WOW! It's no different than all the other CEC's that lost their lounge acts in the 90's. Whether they knocked down those walls, and just made it more games, or put a TV there, it's all the same. You're acting like it's the end of the world. The thing is, you've never been to this location, and probably never will, so don't judge Newington's "meeting" room. Oh by the way, when I went there in 2005, you could still see the bolts for The King, and all that stuff. It would be better to erase all traces of him and replace it with games, right? Because that's the only other option... It's not Magusicack's fault, not everything that happens is Dick Frank or Magusicack's fault.
Rumors are that The King was there till 1998. It's confirmed he was at Newington till '95, but '98 is just a rumor.

Wouldn't '98 be awfully late for it to still be installed? I thought they were all removed by the end of 1996?

A Balcony Stage was still out in the field in Lake Forest, CA, till 2001. Matt Schartz said in 2001 that there might still be a King somewhere out there. That's no longer possible with all the locations that have been Phase 4'd, but I believe that a King lasted till '98 or '99. Maybe not in Newington, but I believe that a King definitely lasted till '99. Beach Bowsers were confirmed to be at a location till '99 or '00. It's possible, just think about all the stores that still have traces of their Lounge Acts. Anything is possible with this wishy washy company.

Whoa! A balcony in 2001? That I'd love to see.

Yep! The Laguna Hills, CA, location replaced the Lake Forest location in 2002. It was confirmed they had a Balcony Stage, but there are pretty strong rumors they still had a Beach Bowsers. In fact, I remember somebody on YouTube saying "they still had singing dogs like these in 2000 at a CEC in California." The Beach Bowsers were very common in the early to mid 90's, so chances that one made it to the new millenium aren't slim...

Yeah- I'd like some confirmation from people here who may have visited it. Maybe even some pictures or video?

Back on topic: If anybody gives a darn I will be filming the 2-stage show in Newington, NH, in August along with a store tour. I bet I can still point out where the King room was/is. It'll be exciting to finally go to the Newington store again after 6 years... I wonder how much of their skytubes they actually scrapped. They had a huge set. Almost as big as Brandon's. From what I remember, it wasn't just one level. I think it was two levels of them. I don't remember going in them, and now I'm a little big for them.
