Well I got confirmation the other day that the new CEC parts dept. IS actually the old Showbiz warehouse in Topeka...appearently the techs kind of hate it cause there aren't any direct flight to Topeka so they have to fly into like Kansas City, MO and drive to it...

Just hoping to get this section going a bit... :smokin:

Maybe I can get a job in the parts department... I love Kansas.

So like, have they retained this property all these years, or happen to buy it back by coincidence? If they've always had it and just not used it, I wonder if it still had a bunch of old crap in it all theses years (or still might).

Yeah, they've owned it all these years... It's this huge warehouse that now stores all the new games and actual parts and the show stuff so I suppose there could be some old stuff in there but seeing the way Chuck's went through and flushed out any Showbiz/Rock-afire stuff at the store level, I would think at the corporate level there'd be nothing left :(

There'd probably be more "old" Chuck stuff at this point just stuff they're not going with anymore from a few years back...

why would techs have a need to fly out there? i mean whatever they need they get FedEx'd to them

They have huge meetings out there that are for a few days and have workshops for repairing and troubleshooting etc...

Very cool. Nice find Gabe!

Well if Showbiz owned this from day 1, surely there must be SOMETHING left...but i agree that with the way Corporate seems to destroy their past instead of preserving it, well, it is probably just that: New stuff. Sorry folks: it's probably not that fabeled warehouse we have been dreaming about lost in the sand dunes of time that is filled with robots and old signage...but HEY, you never know!

I think it would be cool to check out if you are passing through Kansas....i mean, this IS where Showbiz was based ( business wise ) so it would be neat to check it out. I suppose any one of us could show up in our old Manager Shirts and be given a free tour. I can think of a couple of people who could pull this off........( you know who you are!)

Hey..it's worth a shot......

So...who's going?

lol.. guys, I hate to be the one crack your pecans. But you wont find any remnance of Showbiz in that place, they may have some old chuck decor still in inventory.

It's pretty much all chuck e stuff in there. The only bots you will find are the Garner Holt ones which are still in crates. But if you never been to the warehouse, well then sure go check it out. I don't see the need for the roguish tactic. I'm sure if you catch Fincher on a good day and granted they are not too busy. I'm sure you can get a tour.

See, that's what I figured lol...If they've burned and pissed on the ashes of any Showbiz stuff at the locations the warehouse probaby did it first...

Oh well at least we're still building up a supply of this stuff ourselves...

I Honestly think if it wasnt for the Showbiz Pizza Place and Pizza Time Theatre fans the whole old concept would have gone into oblivion and no one would remember Showbiz

When I went from Tulsa to Topeka for my job interview in '82. I flew to Kansas City on a Boeing 737. Kansas City to Topeka was in a Cessna 182. Turned out that I had more Pilot in command time in a 182 then my pilot. :bb_happy2:

Merry (what ever you like to call this time of year, Me, I prefer) Christmas and a happy new year assuming you're new year starts on January 1.

Yeah, I hate that its out there now because we used to receive our parts the next day when it was just a few hours away :-)

I don't know of any techs flying out there, but I knew they still have meetings at Corporate. Though maybe it depends on which one you are closer to.

More often, though, the district techs meet at Corp, and then have a local meeting with their techs.

Yep appearently Dave Gariby had flown out to some 2 or 3 day meeting with your district tech... It was a bunch of seminars and workshops about fixing various things etc...
