I saw that 1930s CEC piece in your dA gallery. It reminds me a lot of Mickey. :)

I figured it was time I contributed something new, although it's not what I usually post up here (although I am working on something new and it's another revamp of an older piece. I even worked on shading it like the pic I referenced it from just for kicks) it is quite an interesting picture I suppose.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/Pinkscorchio/CEC/JasperPicBW.png

The original edit of the image, (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/Pinkscorchio/CEC/JasperPic.png) which is just a color adjustment to make it look more lively.[/url]

a B&W photo of a Jasper plush? WOW!

I was inspired by Vega 3 and decided to fiddle around with one of Isabella Price's pictures in photoshop...nothing major, just some tweaking.
I call it "Pasqually's Revenge"...:))

Awesome picture though! :)

Glad I could inspire you to make horribly funny and disturbing photo manipulations, Harmony! :))

I've got that revamped image I promised the other day. I used the parody poster for reference to shading and for his shirt color. I actually used the eyedropper tool to get an exact color I wanted. His hair color also came from the poster, but I used my default greys on the rest of him so his hair ended up looking brownish. Ah well, I like it.

Oh and this one's for Isabella. I figured I'd start with Munch. The photo has been color manipulated to be more bright and to have more contrast than the original one did.

Yes, there definitely need to be shirts! On a similar note, I can picture myself drawing Jasper in a hilarious pose like he's ablaze, screaming his lungs out to that quote. :))

ANYWAYS, enough of that for the moment. I've got a lovely new piece, and it's not Chuck for once! It's actually Helen, and let me tell you, I thought it wasn't gonna get done. Photoshop decided to act up and I ended up fixing my issues by pulling a reset on all my tools....

Yeah, that's how I feel about Pasqually. Just a huge face with eyes in some vague area. :)) Needless to say, I surprised myself with how easily I drew up raebigc's small request. It's nothing fancy, but it proves I can do some great speed work.

He's from Joisey, neyah! Sorry, I couldn't control myself there.:)) But yes, to seriously answer your question, Chuck's from New Jersey. He still has the accent, it's just a lot more subtle. Now as to where in New Jersey... I guess that's up to your imagination.

It's great to see a fresh style of art that's pertaining to CEC around these parts. Glad to hear (and see) you've joined the wagon, MechaCory. :) I certainly hope there's going to be more art coming from you...

Here's a piece of photograpy that I shot and color-manip'd to give it an older feel. If ya look reeaaallllyyyy close you'll see both old and newer tokens and yes there's a hideous smudge on Helen's arm... Something was sitting on top of it a while back and it screwed the paint up when I removed it. So much for mint condition, eh?

Forgive me for double-posting, but I wasn't expecting to finish this one today. I like how the palm turned out in the background; it was something that was trial and error. I ended up looking up a picture of one and based it off of that. Darryl requested this one. I absolutely love how Helen's hair and facial expression came out in this one.

Yup, deeper shading. Definitely tried to get her hair to have more shading. I also used some different tones that the dodge/burn tool offers and that might be why it seems so much fuller in the shading dept. I also took that bold step to shade with gray and I'm glad I did. Her hair's actually based on the official movie poster for One Million Years B.C. and I might draw her more with her hair down like this. I enjoyed figuring out how it would work.

I like the look of rough sketches. It just gives it a human touch. Plus, it'd have been a nightmare trying to draw outlines considering my mouse can't draw curves without looking like a game of Snake on a cellphone. I'd have had to literally print out the image, draw over it in my inking pen, scan it back in and then resize it to a reasonable resolution, then open it in Photoshop, fixing the darkness levels of the lines, then finally color. Oh, and blur it. Blur tool is my friend. Buuuuut, that's a tedious process, and it came out so nicely when I made the lines a hair darker. But that's just a complicated process I go through because I'm without a tablet. :)) You're quite welcome for me giving Chuck a tail. It was kinda fun to draw him in disbelief, like "What the heck?! Why do I have this tail?! I've got those emotions I told you about. I just flat-colored 'em though.

Because clicking on it seemed more epic. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/Pinkscorchio/CEC/ChucksEmotionsColoredDA.png)

Alright, time for some new art. Well, new-ish. This one's actually closer to the parody poster that it came from versus my avatar. I'm sure Harmony will enjoy this one. I actually like it a lot. I'm not sure which of the two I like better between Chuck and Jasper, but I'd like to say it's a dead-on tie. Overall I think that hair fits with Jasper a bit easier than it does Chuck, but you gotta admit they both look cool. I gave Jasper a cooler belt buckle than I did Chuck E.; he got his cheese guitar immortalized in buckle form, lol. Also, this is the first time I've drawn Jasper with his mouth open in this style that I settled on for him.

That would totally kick some serious butt. Too bad corporate doesn't make costumes for the robots for holidays. I'd enjoy seeing that. :)) MMBB's got a great reason to be a Jackson fan, he's really awesome!

@Harmony: I can totally pickture how that buckle would look in real life. It would be like those buckles they make out of metal that are cut out, and the color is poured into the recessions afterwards. (Like this (http://media.80stees.com/images/products/Nintendo-Belt-Buckle.jpg) in case my explanation made no sense).

WOW, I have been depressed lately. I'm trying, though, and this came out instead of the fancomic.

This is Chuck in a traditional Indian dupatta... 'cause, you know, Chuck's a rat... and rats are sacred in parts of India, and stuff...

YES, I'M WEIRD. I know.

Awww! I'm sorry, I've been kind of down myself lately. Art is certainly a good outlet.

And hey, we celebrate weird! Chuck E Cheese has quite the presence in Middle Eastern countries, so I don't see why Chuck couldn't be in India.

You know, I was actually thinking of something like that... Specifically Chuck in Helen's cheerleader outfit. =)) He lost a bet, he did.

Buuuutttt, I didn't draw that for everyone's viewing, *ahem* pleasure. I did a pic of PTT Chuck in a new style that I think fits his old personality perfectly. I also added in a simple gradient background. Nice, huh?

I went out on a limb and used my wide Sharpie to ink it. Glad I did. Made the lines amazing when I had to darken them and blur them a bit to make them look digital. I think I'm getting addicted to using Sharpies to do the final lineart instead of my really narrow Papermate felt-tip I've been using. The best part is, he kinda popped into my head that way, with the help of a real piece I'd found on deviantART. I used it as a ref for the snout, but whatever. It doesn't look the same at all and the rest was more closely based on all my other Chuck art.

@Nevin: Thanks! I knew you'd really enjoy it. :)

Epic. And your coloring's definitely improving. I might suggest making the lines darker before you color so they're nice and visible, but it's still lovely. Now you must jump into the next step without fear: shading! It's not as hard as it looks to get some simple stuff like I do in a piece.

Hey Isabella, are you using the paint bucket to color? You might want to try putting the inking on a multiply layer and coloring UNDER that, It'll make the lines a bit clearer/bolder :)
That Munch is great though, awesome expression :)

I make a color layer above my lineart layer, select spaces on the lineart layer with the magic wand tool, then go fill it in on the color layer. I've been trying to find a good tutorial on coloring, but nothing seems to work for me. :(

I was experimenting with line color for this one, but I didn't make it dark enough.

If you set the lineart to multipy and then lock that layer (so you don't accidentally mess it up or something), all the layers for color go under that one, which would make a picture you color look like mine.. well, sort of.

Well to me Chuck will always be the red derby/red vested wearing adult
rat fink I grew up with in the early 80's to mid 90's. Watching the show tapes, even with "younger" outfits I can't picture them being young at all...I mean, Pasqually has a mustache! heh.

Aw, his tail!
I've always pictured 'current' Chuck as being in his mid to late 20's, early 30's...with Helen in her late teens, early 20's, Munch as a college age frat boy, Jasper in his late 30's/early 40's, and Pasqually as...geez. 40's-50's, I guess...?

Man, I am out of touch with current CEC. Then again, when you have to stand 3 inches away from the stage to hear the showtape, it's kinda hard to catch up on your continuity.

Yeah, the tail... I like for things to have tails. I noticed the walkaround Chucks losing their tails when I was a little kid and wondered where they went. Now, it my head, Chuck HAD a tail... but Corporate cut it off.

http://fc08.deviantart.com/fs42/i/2009/111/6/4/Dolly_Dimples_and_Chuck_by_CharonTheSabercat.png Hooray for fanart of forgotten characters. It's becoming a trend, muwahahaaa!!! I'm afraid Isabella started it first with the Warblettes piece she did. Very cute picture of Chuck as a kid.

As for how I actually picture Chuck E. and the gang, I see Chuck being in his early twenties... 22-24 maybe? Helen's the youngest of the group... I'd say in the 20-22 range? I definitely see Munch being about 26 and being in college like Harmony has him. Jasper, perhaps about 27 or 28? He can't be the oldest, now can he? If not in his twenties I'd definitely say he'd be in his 30s. Pasqually would be oldest for sure. I'd say late thirties, somewhere in his forties? I totally thought about this too much, lol. :)) Buuut, that kinda gets off the subject of how I draw him. I'd say I draw him about the age I've given him above (most of the time. Sometimes I draw him as a kid, or as PTT Chuck whom I'd guess is about forty).

Nice! You do something I've had trouble for years doing, despite doing a number of professional comic/graphic design work over the years. And that's the perception of depth. See how the bottom of his shirt, the seperation of his cheeks from the rest of his face, and depth of his hat occur? For some reason I've never been too good at incorporating that.

Because stickers peel and buttons are bulky, but tokens are forever. I can't wait to see the token collection! Imagine what those'll be worth once swipe cards are the norm in arcade places.

Guess it's a mix of CEC/PTT/SPP tokens and CEC swipe cards...

Here's that group pic I said I was working on! I was thinking about how much we hate the way corporate sucks the fun out of everything these days, and this is what came from it.

And my, that corporate CEC one is something else.

Any plans to ink and color these?

Coloring, no. These were drawn on printing paper, and my markers would bleed like mad on them. But I can ink them if someone else wants to color. ^^

Tokens are easier to acquire. I’ve always enjoyed collecting tokens, even as a little kid.

I'd be happy to color your art. It's so original and fresh it make the stuff I do look like bland crap (Ok, I admit I rag on my art something harsh all the time)! I think your art looks a lot like the old official stuff did in the 1990s. Cartoony and enjoyable. :)

RAC, that token frame is the shiznite! I'm thinking of doing something similar when I get more tokens. But really, i want the world's largest collection of CEC tokens. Sacks of em! Hundreds of dollars worth! XD

The first 12 are Showbiz tokens, also included in this frame are: Discovery Zone, Chimpy’s Pizza Safari, and Odyssey Fun World. As for the CEC tokens, there at least two tokens for each year of CEC 1977 to 2007 including the Over The Hedge Tokens and I was lucky enough to find a CEC Australian token. A Zapps token will be in my second frame I am currently collecting for now.

I've got a little sketch for you all, something from some time ago that I never finished. I kinda have the idea in my mind how it'd look finished, but right now I feel I can't add in all the stuff I want. If anyone wants to color it, feel free to.

Perhaps. It was more or less based one of the parody posters.

It took your typed out giggling to make me realize that he'd posted that. Shows how closely I read that one. I let it go right over my head! You probably meant Princess Peach and Princess Daisy, right Darryl? :)

Helen's dress is loosely based on Peach's dress, and then Zelda's dress helped me draw the pleated bottom, more or less inspired by Helen cheerleader outfit. Those gold ribbons on her dress and the monogrammed "H" are kinda meant to be part of that inspiration as well. The rest I came up with on my own.

I appreciate the comments, and Charon, it's quite alright that you giggle away at it. Something about Helen being a princess strikes me a bit funny too. Buuuuut, I think I'd giggle more a Chuck being a prince. My picture would probably make him look like the Burger King "King".
