Last week I took my 5 year old niece to the CEC in Pensacola, and I have to say I was very disappointed in the condition of the show. It's always been a "nicer" show than other CEC's I have been to, but this was the first time I had been to CEC in a couple of years.
First of all, when we walked into the showroom the curtins were open, but a video was playing on the monitors. The characters were moving and looking around (Chuck would move his hand almost like he was ************). Obviously, this was a time when she show wasn't on so I couldn't understand why the curtins weren't closed. Finally, the lights came on and the show started, but we couldn't even hear it (and we were sitting right up front). My niece looked at Chuck's feet and said a "doggie had bitten him", and it did look like a dog had chewed on his feet. When Chuck would talk, his lips wouldn't move and he had one eye shut.
Munch was missing an eye, which my niece quickly pointed out. (Munch actually scared her). Jasper's hands didn't work, and Pasqually never moved. They never really interacted with each other either. They just sang songs then went into this "almost motionless" state while a video came on the monitors. They never closed the curtins the entire time we were there.
A lot of the games were broken too. I think out of the 6 rows of skee ball, only 2 worked. Other games were broken too.
I was just really surprised at how it has gone down hill over the last couple of years. It's very sad because all the show needs is a little TLC. I'll try to get some pics next time I go back (and despite all this my niece does want to go back).
