THe only thing I have found to be a real repair for masks was liquid latex rubber that you can buy in any craft store.
If you use the latex, the BEST way to fix the mask is to...
1) Sand off the paint in the area to expose the raw latex you want to fix.
2) Get a piece of cloth fiberglass (autozone, walmart auto section) or a piece of your mom's nylon stockings (seriously) and cut the piece to fit about one inch over every edge of the part you are fixing
3) paint the latex onto the fiberglass/nylon and apply the patch to the crack.
4) re-paint
You may have to pre-fill the crack withthe latex when the cracks are deep - if so, jsut make sure the latex is dry before put the patch over it. The patch is important as it will hold that area together and keep it from cracking again.
If the texture of the fiberglass / nylon shows through the latex - jsut paint an additional coat on top after it's all dry and it will look as smooth as glass.
I have fixed a LOT of masks this way.

The true way to repait major tears is with sutures. You know, sew them up. This prevents them from ripping further. This usually happens along the mouth.
After this is accomplished, there are techniques to use mesh and laytex to keep the repair from pulling and doing more damage along the repair line. After that, repainting the area is the last step.
Somewhere on the forum is a post with a link to Aaron's guide to repairs.
Don't use spackle. Any non-flexable like spackle or glue will not work and it will damage the mask even more!
