View Full Version : No curtains pointless?

In the long term, wouldn't having the random movements chip cause more wear and tear to the characters. Thus causing maintainance costs to be higher, than just using the curtains?

yup,and I have the strange feeling that they WANT that to happen so that they can get rid of the robots and eventually JUST have studio-c (or maby JUST t.v. screens)

I heard a statistic that stores with existing stages do better than those with studio c though. It seems corporate wants to fail.

My 2-Stage never closes the curtians.

I am all for group conversation, but I also believe in intelligent conversation. Of course random movements means more wear and tear on the robots. I am willing to bet this has been discussed at least in three other threads, too.

Yeah it was the cost of replacing the curtain motors which was like $300+ a pop and supposedly the dry cleaning bill too, which is hard to believe when you see how dirty alot of the d****s are but anyway...

Appearently, all that was too much to be spending on maintainence and curtain motors that were installed in alot of cases in the 80's(with 3-stages it's just gonna keep happening)

It does suck not having curtains I know...I've even watched confused toddlers like "Uh...is the show over or not...?"

well then how come the curtains work for studio C and not the other stages? I t would make more sense to leave the curtains open all the time!:p

It's different for Studio C, because the curtains use an air ram instead of a motor. I'm with Gabe about the cleanliness of the curtains.. I doubt most stores actually have them dry cleaned.

I know, right? Every sense of the word is censored! Even if you just wanna get a new set of d****s, go to the grocery store and get some g****s, get a bandage to cover up a sc****, then kick back and read "Tarzan: Lord Of The Apes!" (...Yes, I know "apes" doesn't have an "r" in it. Shut up.)

But, uh, yeah. Curtains. Bring them back.

Even if you only dry clean them once a year or something because of the expense. There is NO magic, what so ever, with the characters just standing there, making a random movement ever so often.

In fact its just plain creepy to see it.

Some of these stores didn't even do it once a year which is really sad  What excuse could a restaurant have??

You know, with the curtains no longer in use, I wouldn't see any harm in The Chuck E. animatronic getting a role in lives, especially Birthday Star.

I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon. It defeats the purpose of the costume chucke for the live shows.

In bday star 92, they used both the walk around and the animatronic though, and with no other characters on studio c, it would restore some entertainment value for the stage itself during lives.

yeah from birthday star 90 from 94 the robotic chuck was always in full swing for those birthday star versions.:)

My store doesn't even use the curtain for the Studio C we have..... lol. So Chuck will just be kinda... standing there.

It was funny, the first time I went into the store, I thought that someone was actually in a Chuck suit. But no. It was just Studio C chuck.
