Man, when I first saw this vid I couldn't help but feel sorry for Chuck. I can understand how some kids get really attached to Chuck but this kid, wow talk about "attached".

Wow.

Yeah I'd have to say autistic just from what little I know of the disorder. That video is pretty disturbing. Especially seeing just how upset that kid was over being pulled away from Chuck E. Or maybe it was the camera person(s) laughing at the kids misery... I don't know. I guess you'd have to be pretty good humored about that kinda thing (both as Chuck and whoever was watching after this kid). I know I myself wouldn't have the patience to handle that responsibility day in and day out.

And just to try to curb this thread from going in dark directions, I wanted to throw out a little "public service announcement" and point out that there's several autistic fans in our community and who visit the site - most of whom aren't on the forum. I know of them from parental e-mails, etc.

So just know that there's a correlation between autism and CEC. It's something I don't fully understand, but I know it really does exist just by the makeup of the fanbase. :indifferent:

Oh don't worry, when I said he was autistic I didn't mean it in a bad way, I just stated it because of the reason why he would refuse to step back from Chuck.

Speaking of autism, here at my store, we would have a real autistic person (the non communicating type) in his early-mid twenties coming all the time and his mother would bring him usually. Well this mother isn't resposible at all and just lets this guy run around, usually he'll be seen by guests, acting out, taking a bunch of food from the salad bar, or banging the games or banging the props on the stage etc.

Well turns out he was there agian recently, I wasn't there but one of the showroom girls who was there was asked by this guy's mother to watch him while she went to order food. Well, she was aggravated she had to do so, so when this guy tried to leave the showroom the showroom girl went to go get him and tell him he cannot leave to room and she got whacked in the face by him, and he ran off. The mother came back apologizing and the showroom girl flipped out, and autistic or not, it was uncalled for, the mother should be watching him.

oh yeah, and this mother also decided to not pay for her food one night and somehow got away with it...

One of my assistant managers told me that this guy flipped out on him and starting banging stuff and scaring the kids. That pretty much was the final straw with him and his mother.

I think the two are not allowed to come back...but if they do, our code for that is now known as 'CODE BLUE' so when we have to shout it we know we have to have employees on the floor keeping an eye out.

But really, it shouldn't be blown out of proportion...I just stated that the kid in the video was autistic because I can read autistic minds or can tell very well who's who and what's not.

"Code Blue"

I'm so used to hearing that in hospitals, hearing that in a CEC I think the first words out of my mouth would be "ooh a hospital w/ video games...AND DECENT FOOD....NIIIICE!"
