Alright. Slight delay.

I'll take the blame on this one. Some slight technical difficulties, but after playing with this program I got from my brother this afternoon I'm pretty impressed with the results of what it can do. Not quite "Nick-tacular", but definetely bordering on "Nick-ish".

For those who don't know what that 1st paragraph was all about, nevermind.

Anyway I'm waiting on the special cases to arrive, and also I'm going back through and doing a rough re-edit to the program. Pizzacam and Franchize put together one hell of a compilation, so 90% of the work is already done. I'm going to go and add some transitional effects, add credits, add in a scene per Donovan's special request, and also remove some of the potty mouth (hey, what can I say... we were all really excited.)

So, with any luck I'll have all the edits done by the time the DVD cases arrive and we can get this thing ready to mail out. I would say no later than Aug 1st.... but I'll post updates between now and then. It will be well worth the wait I think. :cecwink:

Travis, if it's ok i would like to see the "new" version before it's official release. J and I would like to give it the "official" CV Stamp before it is unleased to the public!

Then we would have to wait longer.:bbsad:

Not nessesarily....

It only involves viewing it and they shooting an e-mail giving the official ok to go. It's not that i don't trust that Vega will do a awesome enhancement, as i know he WILL, it is simply something i like to do before something is issued with the "CV" name attached to it.

It's an artist thing, i guess.

Come on Jenn we get it...you're in charge of CheeseVention...lol :bbembarassed:

That's cool cause I just couldn't see covering costs for ink and CD's & labels...It'd be about $80! I'm already in the hole without a job.

Sorry :(

newsflash.. for once I didn't make the controversial statement
I just thought that was hilarious the way it was worded.

Continue..

Well I didn't mean for it to be rude it's just gonna take up more time ;)

Plus it's not like when Travis adds onto the compilation I made Jenn and J are gonna say NO god that's awful throw it out! Star Over!! So it's just slowing things down but...ehh Matt and I did our part with what we had so we'll just step back now and let Jenn, Travis and J take the reins...

Aw come on guys....you are making it sound like i'm going to be setting the release date back a few weeks, which is simply NOT the case! It's a quick veiwing and a e-mail and we are all set.

It's nice to see though that the release is highly anticipated enough to garner such concerns about further delay, and i can respect that.

:)

It wasn't rude Gabe, it was just the way you worded it made me laugh because I'm the one who usually makes comments that later are twisted into what others want to hear so they can get what they want from me.

Yeah, the more I talk... the more I put my foot in it. Looking forward to the release of the new DVD.

I'm stoked about how this is turning out. I'm not even worried about Jenn giving it the thumbs down, as it's the SAME program as it was to begin with. It just has more pizazz now that there's the CV4 logo and some transitional sweeps added in between scenes.

Short of the final credits, the main disc is already done. I'm sending out an e-mail now for any suggestions / requests for that part and it's a done deal.

Sounds fab.....

The original version was fine as-is...so anything added to it can only be an enhancement of an already nice release.

How much will it cost?

Shiney Happy Jenn

I am not sure.. Vega is best able to answer that question....

I have seen the "new edition" of the CV4 Dvd program, and it is GREAT! "Paws Up" i beleive was the old expression?

It retains all the fab camera work and editing that Gabe and Matt originally did with the additon of some nice graphics and menus. I really liked a lot of the new additions too...exspecially the funny additons added into Donovon's story regarding "Sing it B***" from CV3 and a big laugh in the end credits. Great stuff!!

I won't say anything else, as i don't want to spoil the surprises in store for those who will soon be seeing this! It's a sharp package and i think every fan, regardless of if they were there or not, will want a copy of this in there collection. The super-cool "Bonus Features" are worth the price alone!

:)

Hey thanks Gabe!

Both Nolan and Gene will be recieving copies of this DVD as well, since they were originally slated to attend the Event, i thought they would enjoy seeing what they missed! LOL!!

Actually, i think they will get a kick out of seeing what we did in CA, and i KNOW both of them will want to see the bonus feature films.

Awesome job everyone, this disc set is a winner!

I think Nolan would also get a kick out of the CV3 DVD. seeing those rare PTT shows in action again would make him proud I bet.

True, but i would rather they both see that Show as it is today, COMPLETELY restored and now with it's lights! We just started work on The Captain's show the night before CV3 last year....and were lucky to have what we had then. Now myself and the two Mike's have spent many days and numerous hours picking up where we left off, and today the Show is the most complete and correct version you could possibly have from PTT's Golden Era ( 81' thru 83')

So yeah, at some point i will be sending them new footage of the Show as it is now. There are still plans for creating a real Balcony facade to be placed oin front of the characters.....but other then that the Show is pretty much as it was back in the day. I would love to have them both see it in person of course, but video will be adaquate enough to give them that nostalgic buzz.

So does that mean that it is going to be ready soon?

Yes, for those who may not have seen it listed yet in the Showbizpizza.Com web shop: The CV4 Dvd Set is NOW AVAILIBLE!

Hooray!

See Aaron's link above to buy your copy !

Veganova is the only one that can really answer that question. Give him some time, he probably has been swamped with order and needs to get them all packaged up for shipping out!

VegaNova

Actually most everyone's has been shipped out already. I have to make a trip to the post office today to mail the ones that have sold in the last couple of days. Danny yours will go out today. ;)

I had to make some last minute adjustments... my burner died on me about a week ago halfway through finishing the first batch of discs (meaning I had a full stack of dvds finished that didn't have disc 2 burned yet). So bit by bit I've had to go and pirate my brother's computer to get the sets finished.

Once I get mine replaced I'll get more added to the shop - including more copies of CV3 which I'm almost out of.... and perhaps a few of the BTC ones if I feel really optimistic.

I saw on the CV4 DVD that in the box with reels in it, there were audio tapes What were they used for?:choochoo:

Shiney Happy Jenn
11-18-2007, 09:15 PM
Audio cassettes were often used to train people for doing the various "Live Shows" at CEC's in the 90's. Some locations also used cassettes for the buildings' background music, starting in the 80's when cassette was the format of choice.

If i am remembering right, my Store here in Danvers used cassettes for background music in the early days. Copies still exsist, and it's all mostly generic instrumentals.
