Does anybody hear like Meat Loaf? (the singer, sillys). He's been my favorite for the longest time! I recently saw the VH1 movie they did on him, and I could not believe how much the actor that was playing Meat Loaf looked just like him! So I was just curious if anyone else likes him?

I have been listening to him a lot over the last year. I like the original Bat Out of Hell which is mainly what I listen to. My favorite songs are "Bat Out of Hell" and "2 out of 3". The one I have been listening to most is the live version of "Paradise by the Dashboard Light". I didn't like that one at first, but it has grown on me. That may actually be my favorite. I think some of the older Meatloaf songs would have been cool to program one of the shows to. Especially "Paradise" since it has male and female lead vocals.

Thats cool, Capt...I love all the songs you mentioned....especially "Paradise by the Dashboard Light." I actually love any of the songs that Meat does with the original girl singer, Patti Russo.

The best Meat Loaf songs:
"Two Out of Three Ain't Bad"
"Paradise By the Dashboard Light" (featuring baseball announcer) Phil Rizutto
"You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth"
"I'd Do Anything for Love, But I Won't Do That"
"Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through"
"Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are"
"I'd Lie for You and That's the Truth"
"Not a Dry Eye in the House"
NOTE: Jim Steinman (The Andrew Lloyd Webber of 5 minute more or less song power ballards) wrote and produced many of Meat Loaf's songs, Jim Steinman also wrote and produced Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out for a Hero", Air Supply's "Making Love Out of Nothing at All", Barry Manilow's "Read 'Em and Weep", Barbra Streisand's "Left in the Dark", Celene Dion's "It's All Coming Back to Me Now", and Fire Inc.'s song from the 1984 movie "Streets of Fire" titled "Tonight is What it Means to Be Young".

Darryl, I agree with you totally there but you left the actual song "Bat Out of Hell" out. If you put that in your top 3 somewhere and I stand behind your list.

Darryl, I agree with your list too. You sure know your stuff. There's some other songs of Meat Loaf's that I really like too, like "If this is the last kiss, let's make it last all night," and "Jumpin the Gun." Those are both really good, imop...
You know, I didn't know that Barry Manilow did "Read Em and Weep?" Meat Loaf actually did that song as well.

Have you heard the live version of "Paradise" with the orchestra? It's really cool. They re-work it. I think Ellen Foley did it live too. They change the chorus where she sings it by herself which I think works better and the orchestra really fills it out. I like the live version of "2 Outta 3 Ain't Bad" too. "Bat Out of Hell" isn't as good though.

I got it off Napster. I forget what orchestra it is. You may have to buy the whole album. I am thinking the track is not available seperately but it is well worth it.
