Lately we’ve had an influx of new registrations with our forum, and we want to first thank everyone for taking the time to sign up and join us at ShowbizPizzaForum.com, the official Showbiz Pizza.com forum.
As of today, I am changing our registration policy and this will apply to all new members 13 and under. While we are not attempting to discriminate against age or anything, we have to watch out for how certain aspects of this forum are ran in respects to age and internet safety. While we try to keep a tight grip on this forum, recent activities here as shown a reason for us to tighten up quite a bit, and I’m really not happy we have to do it, but if there aren’t standards laid out clearly, it seems we have issues and ultimately that means more changes. I know some people are tired of my changes, but I think these will please our senior members and tighten up on our newer members.
While all of our members are equal to each other, recently we have had new people sign up and act like they own the place. From “official chats” to “official e-mails” I’ve seen it all lately, and I’ve taken steps to tighten up but obviously it hasn’t worked, so the bottom line is it will not be tolerated anymore. Those of you who have broken the rules I’ve clearly pointed out numerous times publically and privately, you know who you are. Anyone who I have warned before will be suspended for a minimum of one week the next time I have to reprimand you. I don’t like banning people, but if that still doesn’t work you will be no longer welcome here.
Registration Policies
Any member 13 and under will be part of the “COPPA” group, and will need parental consent in order to be considered for admittance to our forum. As of today, when you register all members 13 and under will be required to print out a form, have a parent or legal guardian fill out the form and fax it to me. My fax number is on the form and these records will be for official Showbiz Pizza.com use only and will be neither shared nor sold to other companies at any time. If the form is not filled out and faxed to me, you will not be able to post, use our chat room, or the private message system. You will be able to read, but that is it. This is to ensure everyone on this forum is allowed to be here so there are no further issues down the road. Once I receive the fax, it can take up to 48 hours for a decision to made if you will be allowed to participate on the forum. ALL members will be moderated before they can post, so they must confirm an e-mail address and then I will be approving everyone. I am on almost all day, so don’t worry about a long wait. However we do ask you to allow up to 48 hours for approval should there be any unforeseen issues.
Chat Room Policies
This forum is home to the official Showbiz Pizza.com chat room and will remain the official home. “Official” is a word that is thrown out way too often here lately, so let’s be clear who has the ability to declare an ‘official’ chat. Showbiz Pizza.com staff are the only people who can use that tag. Staff appears on the forum in: red, purple or blue. Anyone who is not staff who is found abusing the chat room and will lose privileges to the chat room and could face the risk of being suspended or terminated completely.
Private Message System
Anyone new members 13 and below will not have access to the PM system until I receive the form of consent from a parent or legal guardian, and approve your membership. This applies to anyone with access to the private message system: this is a privilege, not a right. The system is not here to be used to promote personal chat events, alert people of your birthday, or anything petty like that. If anyone receives any private messages found offensive or obnoxious, please sent them directly to me and I will deal with the member. Anyone found abusing the system will lose access to it completely, and it may not be restored.
Off the Site Contact
Showbiz Pizza.com and ShowbizPizzaForum.com assume no responsibility for contacts off our grounds. We cannot help you in matters off these sites because we have no control over that. If you are receiving SPAM e-mailed or private messaged to you, alert me and we will take proper steps to ensure things iron out and there’s no more issues.
I think I’ve covered everything that’s been on my mind lately. The entire Showbiz Pizza.com staff has come together on a unanimous conclusion that these steps I have just announced will narrow down a lot of our problems, but I will point out a few suggestions that might help new members that might be younger.
· Maturity – come here with manners and etiquette. dO nOt TyPe LyKe Dis. It won’t kill you to type out ‘you’ the entire way or say ‘true’ instead of ‘truuuu.’ Do not start rumors or drama, this isn’t Jerry Springer.
· Responsibility – take responsibility for your actions and accept things how they are.
· Respect – this should be a given, but respect everyone on the forum. No one is perfect and knows it all, so please don’t join acting like you know everything and are the hottest thing since sliced toast.
· Honesty – don’t lie about your age. If you are honest upfront and say how old you are, you will be respected for being honest. If you are caught lying about your age, you will be terminated… no ifs, ands or buts. We’re not going to tolerate liars who cannot be honest enough here upfront.
I hope this addresses all the issues we’ve had lately, and as always if you have any questions or concerns about these or any other changes here, feel free to contact me.
