Does anyone remember going on the Hanna-Barbera screen theatre ride (Known as "The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera" a/k/a "Yogi's Big Rescue") at Universal Studios Orlando, Florida before it was replaced by a Jimmy Neutron screen theatre ride? This Hanna-Barbera ride, where Yogi Bear and the help of other Hanna-Barbera characters tries to rescue Elroy from Dick Dastardly and Muttley, has now been relocated to the Park at M.O.A. (formerly Camp Snoopy) in Bloomington/Minneapolis, Minnesota's Mall of America, replacing the Spongebob Squarepants runaway pickle ride.

I've heard about this ride, but have never been to Universal Studios. I know there also was one Back to the Future 3D ride.

Yes I have fond memories of that ride... I even taped the entire thing during one of my trips down there!

Ps... Back to the Future is not 3d..... the Terminator show is though...

When did they take Camp Snoopy out of the M.O.A?

They didn't take Camp Snoopy out of MoA...they just lost their licensing agreement for the Snoopy characters. A new theme is development.

BTW...for all of you wanting to ride the Hanna Barbera ride again, it will reappear at the Paramount Theme Parks (I think all 5) this year in their action theaters.

Speaking of the Hanna-Barbera ride and the Hanna-Barbera theme park connections: Do almost all Paramount owned Theme Parks (Kings Island, Carowinds, Great America Santa Clara, Canada's Wonderland, and former CEI Wolf Pack 5 home Kings Dominion) still have rights to use Hanna-Barbera characters in their parks besides using the Nickelodeon characters and Star Trek characters (and the Paramount Parks once had Richard Scarry Busy World characters)?

Wow... Finally found the tape! Didn't realize it was so OLD! HAHA!! 1996...

Not only does it have the Hanna-Barbera ride... But it also has the now extinct Ghostbusters show (which is now the TWISTER show) and Kongfrontation (which is now the Mummy RollarCoaster).

if you could ever put the ghostbuster one online I would be eternally grateful, never had a chance to see it, so any info would rock.

Sorry JyPsy but the file is way to large for me to upload. Its nearly a 20 min long clip!

It's too bad they don't have that ride anymore, Dick Dastardly and Muttley where my favorites when I was a kid....I can't believe it was replaced by a Jimmy Neutron ride...

Yea I know what you mean... The Hanna Barbera ride was WAY more fun than Jimmy! UGH! (Plus Dick was voiced by the same actor as Gargamel on Smurfs and I loved Paul Winchell's voice!) And now too I bet they are kicking themselves for dumping Kongfrontation now that KING KONG is back thanks to Peter Jackson! HAHA!

The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera will also be appearing at all of the Paramount Theme Parks and a few Six Flags parks starting this year. The rights to the ride are no longer controlled by Universal and are open to anyone with the equipment to run it. Sort of like what happened to showbiz and the RAE in the later years... Of course Universal ditched the ride 3 years ago.

So, the Hanna-Barbera "Yogi's Big Rescue" ride besides the Park at MOA will also be at Paramount Parks (which still has the rights to most Hanna-Barbera characters and rides since the 1970's when the parks were originally owned by Taft Entertainment before the 1992 Paramount takeover) and Six Flags Parks (which owns the rights to Warner Bros., which owns most Hanna-Barbera properties and characters).
