I know we had a thread about this, but I think it got erased in the Great Forum Shuffle. I'm all for making work easier on VegaNova and all, but having the BBBs up on MySpace and them making them private presumes two things- that everyone uses MySpace and that everyone's going to friend(?) the page to read the blog. As someone who is opposed to joining MySpace on principle (fight the power!) is there any way to make those visible *somewhere*?

And sometimes, change is good.
I understand that you cannot access Billy Bob's Blog, however there's really only one solution. I'm pretty confident that Travis isn't about to haul back over to the website since MySpace is very popular nowadays, and in fact, is even incorporated into our forum here. I am working on incorporating it even more because the majority of our memberbase have myspace, and use it as an alternative path for communication. In the forum's next update (which is already in the works, might I add) I will be promoting SPcom's MySpace more, so any members that aren't seeing it now can request us.
Making the blog entries visible elsewhere would completely eliminate the purpose, which is that they're on the official Showbiz Pizza.com MySpace account. Radio Showbiz had a page, (RIP, Brian) and SPTV has one now. In 2007, we have to keep up with modern technology and forms of communication.
We cannot convince you to join MySpace, but if you do feel free to request Showbiz Pizza.com as a friend, and once you're approved and on our friend's list, you can access all blogs.
As for the assumptions we're accused of that assuming everyone uses MySpace and everyone is going to request us as a friend... our MySpace page has 245 friends, so we've got to be doing something right.

Yeah I have to admit that making the blogs viewable to friends only was a last minute idea to try to rope people into actually taking the time to click a button to "become a friend" of our MySpace.
If you've read any of my blogs on my personal MySpace (not private) you'll know that I hate it as well. But it was like, well everyone else is doing it and I'm getting left behind so I had to join the ranks.
Now that we have almost 250 friends I might reconsider making them public, but as far as keeping them a part of MySpace, that's probably going to stay. I hate trying to update MySpace pages and using clunky CSS codes to override the CSS they provide, so the Blog is really the only sensible updates I can even make to our MySpace page.

Thanks Travis for the reply. I don't care about going to MySpace to read the blog, but I really don't want to join just to read. Like I said, I didn't want to make more work for you, but I just wanted it pointed out that not everyone has a MySpace or wants one, even.

I agree! I will not sign up to MySpace and I wish the blogs were viewable here on the site. There's no reason to make them an exclusive for MySpace registered users.
