Ok now that CV 4 is over what about the next CV ...

CV5

Now where should we have it? I'm thinking Danvers MA of course,

Shiney Happy Jenn

It has already been decided ....but it's a bit early to talk about the next CV just yet!

Traditionally, either J or I start a new thread about it here in January of the new year.....but hey, if folks want to talk about it NOW that is fine too!

We have not "officially" announced the location, but it is pretty much certain that CV5 will be back in MA to celebrate it's 5th Year. Just look at how far CV has gone in just that short time!

Naturally a visit to the "famous" Danvers, MA CEC will be in order.....but again, it may be a bit too early to talk about next year!

Ok gang, its been too long for me to attend a CV, so...Jenn, Cheryl and I met today, and although it is a bit early for details, yes...the official location of CV5(or for those that like roman numbers, CVV) will be in Ma.
Now before everyone pipes in an trys to change it, please remember Jenn, Cheryl and I have final say on Cheesevention. It will travel around in the future, but we wanted the 5th anniversary back home. Adam, thanks for the offer, but, please do not go making any "arrangememts" for us at this point. When we need help, we will ask(and we will ask when the time comes nearer.)
I am so looking forward to meeting some of you folks that havent made it to Ma yet, and I know I havent been $$ able to make Tx and Ca, so let the party begin... I know travel Chuck is starting his trip and will end up here, cant wait to meet him! And Cheryl, Jenn, and I already have some ideas on what will happen next year. But all in good time my dears, all in good time.

This has already been discussed with certain individuals already regarding a Midwestern CV down the road. Trust me, i have that already lined up!

CV5 will be back in MA for J. I kind of "promised" that it would be back so he could be heavily involved in it again. It made sense to come back since it will be the Event's 5th Anniversary back where it all started....plus we have many new attendees that are up for coming to MA for the first time.

AFTER CV5 it will travel around again....i am fairly sure about that!

Yeah, i will need to make a trip out there at some point to help you out. I want to see ALL the sights too...exspecially all the locations for one of my fave movies of all time: The Blues Brothers! I cannot even think of Chicago without thinking of them man!

Yes, the cat is out of the bag now..tis' true that Mister Menutia and myself have been plotting the future Midwestern CV for some time now. I like to think about future CV's a couple of years down the road. This years event in CA i was planning back during CV2...but it did'nt really come to life until CV3! So yeah, i am always thinking far down the road.

There is a LOT out there that fans can appreciate, so it is a must-do for the future. To avoid confusion though, let's stick to talking about next years' event in MA. For those coming for the first time up in these parts, you will not be dissapointed.

I gotta throw my two cents in again. Really since CV5 was already decided on, I have to say that CV6 needs to be in Chicago. Unless something happens to fall into place involving some place like Florida, Chicago is the only logical option I can see for holding the next event.

One thing I'm afraid of is that many of the "draws" that are topic related from that area will probably be gone by the time CV6 rolls around. For this I'm talking the Rockford store and the Odyssey location(s) with the new Rock-afire show. We all know how eager CEC is to remodel everything historical and how much stores that still have the Rock-afire struggle and eventually dissapear.

I'm hoping I'm wrong and that these places will still be around by then, but the fans might be getting shot in the foot here if they're not. But I would like to visit New England again, as I love the area.

But you do know that there are 9 members. Or are you counting only the ACTUAL RAFE (Center Stage), but that would only be 4 characters. I'm confused.

Whoa! That would be far too "busy" on the eyes methinks......

When designing a logo that will be used for multiple purposes ( website, merch, dvd covers, etc.) simplicity is often the key. Too many characters or too much "fluff" clutters the image too much and the viewer is left wondering what the heck they are looking at!

One thing pretty much guarenteed though: Both Chuck E. and Billy Bob will be on the logo.

Will part of it take place at this "Church Hall" frequently mentioned in the CV1 and CV2 galleries?

Shiney Happy Jenn
07-19-2007, 01:01 AM
It is unclear at this point exactly WHERE it will be...other then the city. The hall used at the previous MA CV's is now no longer an option for us as the club J belongs to that originally had access to it has moved to a new public space. At this early stage, we do not know all the details about the new place yet.

We have plenty of time to find out though.....

I was e-mailed about the cost of renting a hall. Well we dont have to worry, as I have the keys to the hall. Its my church we meet at and I have the keys. So dont worry about the cost of rent. We are not in the planning stages of the event yet, but I am hoping to have the fab 5 on stage together for this event, performing at CV all together for the first time.

CLARIFICATION:

CV 5 is NOT scheduled for Chicago. The dates and location of the next Convention will be announced when a decision is reached by the Convention Committee. They will post here, as well as on the "Special Events" page of the web site as soon as possible.

I can add that it is most likely that the next CV will be on the East Coast. Chicago has been mentioned only as a "Desired" location, as have Denver, Orlando, and a few other locations.

Being a "Chicago" guy, I do hope that we get to host a CV in the near future, but I also understand that it needs to travel to the different regions and we cannot just focus on the "mid-west" and ignore those other areas where the fan base is strong.

pasqually82
08-01-2007, 03:39 PM
I know that the CV5 was not going to be held in Chicago. I just meant to say that since the distance of where CV5 is being held at this year, east cost, is a reasonable drive from Chicago if I was strapped for cash and/or couldn't get a flight. Sorry if I confused anyone:grin:

Hi guys...

Well it's too early at this point to announce dates, but if i have'nt mentioned it before CV5 will more then likley happen some weekend in JULY or AUGUST of 2008. J and I need to hammer out a weekend choice, and then he has to make sure the hall is availible. Also, we both have to make sure it is not on a weekend either of us are away at another convention un-related, as we both have outside lives to CEC ( amazing as it may seem...LOL!)

We usually start getting serious about CV in January/February of any given year. At this point both of us are imbroiled in Holiday work ( me in retail, J as Santa) so this is not the best time of year for either of us to make plans for anything. However, it WILL be Summer of 08'...and yes, it WILL be a weekend so all of those in school WILL be able to join us this time around! Yay!

The main highlight we know for sure at this point is that we will now be able to have ALL FIVE band members appear in costume. Billy Bob and Looney Bird will of course be on hand as well.....so expect some Live Show madness. The new hall we will be in i am told does have a stage, so we will be able to perform for you again.

Other then that, we will surely have another massive display set up of our combined collectibles and Cyberamic figures. These are display only...not a working show. I now have all the main stage characters ( both PTT and Modern) along with B.B. Bubbles. My King is still M.I.A.....lol.....long story for those who don't know !

So we will have some fun. I am hoping for some fun surprises too, as i work hard in trying to bring something special to the Event for attendees.

Glad to see some people are looking forward to it.......

What is the point in not posting in this thread? Isn't the entire purpose of the thread for discussion of CV5?

If Jenn and J want it locked until they're ready to release the dates that's one thing, and we will respect their wishes but I haven't seen either of them say they wanted this to be closed until they unveil the dates. Provided they are the people in charge of the event anyways... or maybe you're a co-host for the event? Even so, that's cool... but if it needs to be closed until you're ready for some sort of release date then the appropriate way to handle that is by letting a moderator or administrator know.

My point is though, let us decide what can and can't be posted in. That's why we have jobs.

Shiney Happy Jenn
11-13-2007, 06:51 PM
Whoa ...whoa! Calm down everyone...there has been enough drama in this thread as it is ( or WAS...).....LOL!

Nobody said nobody can post here anymore....you guys are more then welcome to continue to talk about the upcoming Event all you want here! My last post on the matter is simply stating that it's too early for J and I to announce next years' exact dates as frankly WE do not know ourselves....and probably will not know until AFTER the X-mas season insanity is over.

So please continue to talk and ask questions here. I'm sorry if somewhere along the line people got the impression chat here was not wanted. Far from it!

This is what is great about CV to begin with...and message forums for that matter....in that EVERYONE gets to have a say and voice ideas. What better way to pass the time in the next couple of months then to just shoot ideas around? Sounds okay to me....

So Adam, just chill for now....before you know it, it will be time for CV again. Until then, folks are MORE then welcome to continue the conversation about it HERE!

Yay!

So to repeat for those who missed it the first time around ( hidden in a large post)

TENTATIVE CV5 dates: I am shooting for mid to late JULY or mid to late AUGUST. Again, nothing will be officially announced until January or February, but at least folks can now have some idea of what time of year we are looking at.

Personally, i think if it worked out, it would be cool to hold CV5 the SAME weekend the first CV was held ( July 21st was it? I forget...!). Since this will be the 5th Anniversary celebration, it would be a neat nod to the weekend that started it all.....

Again, J and I have to sit down at the start of next year and work out the dates. As soon as we have a weekend slated, we will announce it asap!

CEC3066
11-18-2007, 11:36 PM
it all started at 6:00 PM Friday August 20th,2004. if we are going to have CV5 that weekend it would be August 22,23,24th 2008 How does that wlook to you Jenn?

Shiney Happy Jenn
11-22-2007, 12:35 PM
Thanks Danny.

Well, like i said earlier.....J and i need to clear these dates and secure the hall first before any official annoucement is made. He is inolved in a lot of activities and other conventions, not to mention performances himself, so we need to be sure these dates are open.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that now that the holidays are over, Jenn, Cheryl and I will get together and start working on dates for CV5. As soon as ALL bases are covered we will announce the dates. I am expecting this announcement to hopefully take place by the end of Feb.
Jenn will more than likely produce the program, and I am sure Kaitt would do a great job, Jenn is the official artist of CV.
I am told that Danvers will be remodled by July/August, so we will have a new restrauant design, and a new hall to have the event in.
Keep an eye on the list!

Well this CV will be worth it because for the past few months I have been feeling down, and I think one of the main reasons is because I havn't been involved with anything fun related to CEC or Showbiz for a year(aside from other issues), so this is one thing I am looking forward to this upcoming year.:cec_thumbs:

OK, Jenn, Cheryl, and I met last week and we have tentitivly set the date for CV5 at July 11,12, and 13th. REMEMBER....we have not succured the hall yet, so these dates may change, but I thought folks might want to start looking into travel plans. I should know by the end of Feb. about the hall.

Cool! Just think Danny, we can have Chuck and ALL his pals come out and perform THE ORIGINAL Birthday Star for you!

( i KNOW how much you love "that" version!!!)

Alrighty then......Yes, it's true folks: J and i met up recently and had some fun ( nothing like a good ol' fashioned raid....lol....) and admist our glee decided on the second weekend in July for CV5. This will be Cv's 5th Anniversary, so we are looking to have some fun events planned.

As J mentioned, the dates noted are Friday July 11th thru Sunday the 13th back where Cv all started - Danvers/Salem , Ma! All we are waiting on is to secure the function hall , and as soon as this is in the bag the dates will be OFFICIAL. This is more of a heads up for those looking to get a head start of travel plans.

The Official Hotel of CV , the Days Inn ( Danvers) is the closets resort to where all the action will be. Those who have attended the 1st CV and CV2 know it well!

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for Events, games, etc. please feel free to post them here or PM me. We are always open to suggestions as it's the FANS who make CV what it is!

I have a ton of ideas for games, events and more for CV5 this year, how bout a showbiz/cec Name That Tune, I think that would be so fun to play, or even a Costume contest or get this..... CEC/SHOWBIZ Jeopardy! Maybe some Showbiz/CEC Karaoke which i call Showbiz Idol. I think a lot of these ideas would be cool to do at CheeseVention 5.

RAFE CEC Guy
01-22-2008, 03:26 PM
Those ideas are great. ALthough, the second a clip goes on, we will be having 20 people saying the name of the song the instant it turns on. But Jeopardy sounds really fun. We could have an SPP game, a CEC/PTT game, and a Rock-afire game. Each with trivia for their respective game.

Also, I can definitely go July 11th - 13th. Once the dates are official, I can start booking the hotel.

Well today i took the first step towards preperations for CV5.

I made "Cheerleader Helen" a set of yellow and green pom poms. Nevin will be in heaven this year....

Would'nt it be funny if while Helen is performing at Cv5, Mitzi should show up and they fight over the pom poms? I mean seriously...we all know Mitzi ALSO had green ( and white) pom poms....and Helen basically ripped her off. Talk about entertainment: Helen vs. Mitzi LIVE at CV5! Ha ha.....just kidding guys.....

Hi guys...

J and i had a fun night yesterday hanging out and going over some ideas for CV5. I told him about some of the ideas suggested here, and we came up with some new ideas to add to the mix! If it happens, i think the attendees will be amused...

We went over to the "new" church hall also last night, so i could see for the first time what this room looks like. It is pretty much what i expected for size, and although it looks a bit rough there is a extensive remodelling going on at this very moment at the church to restore the rooms to their former glory.

The good news is i think this room will suit us well. We will have plenty of space to display the Cyberamic figures and room for tables of collectibles. We also have facillities availible for the traditonal Snack Table.

The only thing lacking is a proper stage for the Live Show performances. J and i talked about coming up with our own makeshift "stage"...and if it works out should do the trick in a creative way.

So the room checks out and should be a swell spot for CV5.

Oh...one other thing......

I came up with a slogan:

"CV5 - Where Magic Comes ALIVE"

This is so exciting! I am actually getting excited alrerady! I will say that the hall will be a chalange, but, We'll make due. Cheryl and I are actually heading to Disney b4 CV5 in May, so I have 2 things to be excited about!
Jenn and I are thinking about filming a "letters to looney live" ar CV5(there are 3 episodes out there that have not yet been copied to dvd yet) so... get your questions ready for Looney and if you cant make it, you can e-mail me at jtheclown@verizon.net and I'll make sure to ask him during the taping!
Theres much more in the works, but I thought I'd put this out there as an insentive to get your minds rolling.

If past years are anything to go by, almost ALL attendees from out of town end up staying at the same hotel...so more then likely everyone coming to CV5 will be staying at the Days Inn.

A little history about the Days Inn in Danvers: Back when i was still working for The Rat, the Danvers Days Inn was used by some managers to stay over night in when the weather would turn nasty, or some other issue needed for such a thing to happen. Several times our ol' GM would crash here some late night.....and visiting managers staying to help out with shifts ( during the ugly era..) often stayed the night here too. We used to get special discount certificates from the Days Inn's GM so they did'nt have to pay full price. Wish i had some of those now...lol!

Well gang, you read J's post above: One of the ideas we have for CV5 is to film a segement of "Letters to Looney Bird" right there at the Event so everyone can have the fun of asking Looney and J anything they want..live on camera! This will then be edited and featured on the forthcoming DVD release. Those who attended CV2 back in 2005 may recall Richard filmed a segment of his cable access show "Rapid T. Rabbit and Friends" at the Event interviewing fans. It is featured on the CV2 disc, if anyone wants to check it out.

The "Letters to Looney Bird" shows have been seen by very few in the fan community to date...mostly because it has yet to be mass-duplicated and released on dvd. For those who are not aware of it, this is a funny "tv show" series J and i have been fiming at intervals since October of 2006. Looney Bird and J sit on the "Dick Frank Couch" and answer fan mail sent in by people asking questions about the Rock-aFire . It is pretty funny, and there are some random moments that only Showbiz/CEC fans would "get"....and this really needs to get "out there" for you guys to see!

So far there are 3 shows. Aaron Fechter himself has seen the first two, and thought they were great fun. I really hope at some point these can be released.

So anyway, try to think up some REALLy good questions for Looney and J. ANYTHING at all.....just be forewarned: Looney gets REALLY angry when you mention anything about "that rat...".

Is there a Official Logo yet?

At this point, no, but i DO have a image in mind. Whenever the Slogan is created, it often helps me visualize a image. Since the theme is "Magic" this time around ( or at least that is my impression so far ...at this early stage...) i am seeing ol' Tux CHuck back in action doing Magical magician-like things. We shall see. J has already asked me if i plan on having 5 characters in the logo since this is the 5th Event. This was something i did in the first 3 logos, if you go back and look....but i think packing 5 characters into a logo would be overkill. The best CV Logos were always more simplified.

Okay gang...that is the lates from my end. Keep posting your ideas for games/activities. etc. So far we have the suggestion for a "Name That Show Tune" type game with sound clips...sounds cool to me...but we would like to hear what else you would like to see at CV5!

OK gang, Im a bit confused(not a hard thing for me!)
I am under the impression that folks are not willing to come to Massachusetts for CV. So, is it really worth continuing this event is noone wants to attend?
So far I know that Jenn, Myself, Cheryl, Adam, Richard, Danny and his dad are all coming. Is this all? Is anyone else even thinking about coming? It seems that mid and west coast are all willing to attend when its out that way, but to come east....is it not worth it? I know I missed out on Texas and California. It was $$ that kept me away. I wouldnt feel bad if I knew it was cash that kept people away, but I am hearing that folks just dont want to come out this way. We will put on CV5, and I hope it wont be the last one out here, but I think that it might be if the fans just dont want to get together anymore. Anyone thinking of attending, please post, even if you dont know if your able to come at this point. Thanks!

Dont worry Matt, its happening. What I am hearing is that folks dont want to come to Massachusetts because "its been done before" "theres nothing else to do". Not true!
Yes, its been here and we have done the "church hall" thing. True, but its not about that...its about the fellowship between us CEC fans. Yes, we will meet at Danvers on Friday(phase 4 complete) and we will have some fun at the church hall friday night, but on Saturday we will be gathering together to go on a road trip to see some animatronic shows at a location in NH (3 shows-non CEC/RAE).
I know there are some who just dont want to come, thats ok....we cant please everyone, but PLEASE dont not come because you think "its been done to death already". Its been 3 years from the last time its been here, and yes, it will travel to another location in the upcoming years. But dont forget Jenn, Cheryl and I started this event, and its our honor to host all you fans to these events. If we didnt try to get all you fans together, would it have ever happened? Who knows, but look at all the fan get togethers that now happen!
Thanks for reading my feelings on this event. I do look forward to meeting all you "crazy" folks that may come this way in July. Also please dont feel like I have bad feelings towards some folks, I hate e-mails 'cause I cant convey my true feelings in a written form , I think highly of all of you out there, and this post is in NO WAY a flame to anyone.

Hi there CECGirl365!

I see you are from Woburn, MA. Sweet! Always nice to see another represenative from my area!

Yes, the Cv3 and 4 discs are definately worth checking out. The first two were very "homemade" and the latter two were more "pro". All of them have their own character, that can be said!

Hope you can make it out for the Event. J and i were actually out last night at Danvers partying, checking out the new remodel and i am HAPPY to report that even though Danvers has a teir 2 Phase 4 now ( the cheaper remodel vrs.) the outside of the building is INTACT! Yes, you read right people: The old original 90's signage complete with the "Pizza" is STILL INTACT! Woo hoo!!! Phase 4 inside, Phase 2 outside...gotta love it.....totally random.

CV5 : Where the MAGIC comes Alive!

As our slogan suggests, this years' theme is Magic. Expect to see a Magician Chuck E in the forthcoming logo, and some special "Magical" surprises this time around. No, we probably will not have any Special Guests ( as in people...) but we MAY have a special character Guest.

Permisson was granted to release the "Letters to Looney Bird Live" Dvd containing all the shows J and I have been taping since 05'. These will FINALLY see a release, hopfully in late May, before CV5 so everyone can see these wacky programs. As noted earlier, we plan on filming a ephisode of "LTLBL" at Cv5....and it would be to everyone's further enjoyment if they had the chance to see what the program is all about beforehand. Watch for some video clips as we get closer to release!

We are seriously thinking about doing a "Name that Tune" quiz ...so kudos to whoever suggested the idea! This one will be a nice change from the standard Trivia Contest, which to me tends to make the Event slow down too much. The goal of this years Event is to streamline things a bit, meaning the various activity segments will be shorter in length. A example is the Live Show segment....instead of multiple songs we plan on only doing 4 or 5 skits...but man these will be MORE then just characters "singing" and dancing to the music. We are going to be playing up the LIVE interaction element big time.

Okay, that is all the CV5 news for now. Feel free to post any comments, suggestions, concerns, etc.

:)

It's a special event held once a year for all us CEC nuts and RAE nuts here in the community. It depends on where it's hosted. It moves from state to state. From the pictures I've seen of it they've got a load of cool stuff there. There's info on prior CVs in the forums, and some pics are in them as well. You can also dig up a few here (http://rock_afire.tripod.com/) if you look hard enough.

http://rock_afire.tripod.com/events/pastevents/index.html
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cheese+vention&search_type=

The CV's activities depend on the host city and it's available attractions. Locations change to allow all interested fans a chance to attend a CV. Some individual events do cost more than others and keeping that in mind, the CV's are planned so that there are ALWAYS "low or no-cost" events held as part of the schedule. All CV's include "bar hopping" style trips to area CEC's to watch their shows and see their layouts. Each CV event is hosted by this boards most knowledgeable and talented members who share their... well - knowledge and special talents, (sometimes even their "insider contacts") to provide special surprises at each CV.

The first two events were held in the Boston area and are noteworthy for their static displays of historic characters as well as an evening of "Live" entertainment presented by several of the area's most passionate fans. The second event was highlighted by the appearance of the "Creator" of the Rock-afire Explosion, who spoke to members and answered questions posed by those in attendance. Day trips were planned on other days to take members to amusement parks and the Salem, MA.

The Third CV was held in the Dallas/Ft. Worth (Texas)area, home to the original SPP corporate offices, now home to CEC Entertainment. Trips to a few area stores included the Irving "test store" (just a few thousand feet down the road from the corporate office) and an original 3 stage location that was scheduled to be closed later that year. A feature of this event was the presentation of an operating Rock-afire show as well as a salvaged PTT show in it's unaltered, early 1980's condition..

The fourth CV was held in San Jose (California) in honor of Chuck E. Cheese on his 30th Birthday. This event included a trip to the "site" of the first PTT store as well as a birthday bash for Chuck at a very historic store. After a longer than planned drive from San Jose to the Los Angles area CV 4 picked up for the second portion which included trips to several stores to see their various stages and the implementation of the much rumored Phase 4 remodeling. Several members stayed after the official dates for a little "Afterglow" at the Disneyland Resort and other area attractions.

While CV Events are promoted through the Showbiz Pizza website, most of the implementation and costs are dependent upon the members attending. The site posts recommendations for hotels and other area services, and assists members looking to make travel arraignments for the event. All travel expenses, and associated costs for lodging, food, and gas are dependent upon the member... (((this arrangement allows for these conventions to be held "Free of Charge" for those who attend.))) Sales of website merchandise and the post-event DVD/VHS videos help to recoup costs of promotion and provide funds for "Treats" at each event.

In short, these are "fan produced - fan funded - and fan enjoyed" gatherings that allow for those who attend to share their passions with... well, others who want to share their passion!!!

I hope that helps explain the CV to our newer members. More questions, just ask!

Indeed.

Here is the typical CV Schedule:

Friday is the actual "CV Day". We meet up in the afternoon, usually at a pre-designated CEC Location. We hang out, maybe have a meal there, and then later on in the early evening we go to another private venue to kick off CheeseVention. This is usually someones' home, or in this case, a private hall. Here we enjoy things we could not at the Store: collectibles displays, videos, Live Show performances, character appearences, etc. The night usually wraps up after the major showing of the evening.

Saturday is typically the "Fun Day" where as a group we go off on an adventure somewhere to visit local places of interest. This can consist of a "CEC Crawl" as i call it ( visit as many local Stores as one can stand..) or it can be a visit to a well know amusement center or local attraction.

Sunday is usually the "Wrap Up Day" where we meet for breakfast somewhere pre-designated ( local I-Hop, Denny's, etc.). Here we usually say our goodbyes and part company. By the afternoon most are on their way back home after a festive weekend of Chuck-E-Ness.

This years Event will follow a similar pattern.

Friday afternoon we will meet up at the Danvers CEC and spend a little time there as a warm up . Late afternoon/Early evening we will all depart to the new hall J has arranged for us at a church nearby in Salem. Here we will have some displays and collectibles on hand for viewing/handling. We may also have a video setup and some other additional add ons. Around 6/7ish we will begin the activities, such as the games planned and finish up with the traditional Live Show segment.

Saturday's plans are still being discussed, but more then likely we will head out to StoryLand or another related local attraction. It depends really on how many plan on coming that will finally decide the choice i think. StoryLand has a 3 to 4 Animatronic shows in operation ( No RAE stuff..though...)and is a nice themed area i think many will enjoy visiting in NH. We will then have dinner and call it a night.

Sunday will consist of the usual breakfast meet up, to say our goodbyes and well wishes until we all meet up again !

INfo about the actual hotel and maps will be posted prior to the Event.

:)

If anyone needs info beforehand, for helping to plan your travel arrangements, please feel free to PM me!

One thing I have to say to Jenn, You put on great events! I went to the Christmas party and it was great! I can't wait to meet you at CV5!

Hi Darling....

Thanks for coming by to visit...missed ya!

So, where is the "Registration" then....it is not up yet, plain n' simple!

In about a month or so ( or whenever i finally get around to drawing the Cv5 Logo..) we will have a special weblink here on Showbizpizza.com containing all the info you need to know about the Event. Travis does a fantastic job getting this together, and it usually contains all the directions, travel info, tips, and location maps for everything related to the Event itself.

So relax everyone...the CV5 Registration has not even opened yet. I know i know.....i have to get on with drawing the logo!

I know what it will be..it is going to look sharp...i just need the time to sit and DO IT!

Sounds like a motto for a famous brand of shoes:

CV5 , Where Magic comes alive! Yup, were going to make magic this year. Jenn and I are planning some great and diffrent things for this years event, including a REAL Chuck E Live. The logo will be looking sweet, we kind of went over the idea and look of it, and I for one cant wait.
I know a few of you regulars have told us you'r coming, but there are still some we havent heard from. If your planning let us know even before the registration goes up, so we can get a rough idea how many to plan on.

Latest update now...

Today i drew up this years' official CV5 Logo. Yay! It is still in it's rough pencil version, but it is a big step having it at least out of my head and onto a peice of paper.

3 months or so and it will be CV5.....wow! Not much time to get things together, but we have a fairly good idea of what we want to include in this years program.

Again, any ideas/suggestions are MORE then welcome!

And to MatHat: Matt, i have not forgotten about your Munch Feet! I hope to have them done by CV5! Just wanted you to know they are on my to-do list!

More news:

The Logo is now finished. It has been forward to both J and Travis for review. Look for a Cv5 webpage soon!

Now onto something i have been meaning to ask here:

How would you guys all feel about starting CV on Friday EARLIER then usual? The reason i am asking is i am trying to avoid us all being out and up until past midnight...lol. No seriously, with the hall situation this year having a 'early night" would actually work out better.

So the big question i would like to know is YOUR feedback on starting CV around, say, lunchtime instead of dinnertime...and wrapping up at the hall around 7 or 8..latest 9?

Next question: When is everyone planning on arriving in town? I ask as naturally this will not work with those flying in the late afternoon. I personally do not want anyone going to the trouble to join us to miss a SECOND of the fun....so this is a important thing i need to know. If you do not feel comfortable posting such info publically feel free to PM me or e-mail me directly.

IF eveyone will be in town between 12 and 2 we may be able to kick off early. If not, no biggie. Richard will already be here, and as far as i know the only one flying in is Danny. Again, it's no big deal if we stick to the traditional Cv Schedule and begin around dinnertime.

J and I will be hammering out the final lineup of the Cv5 Schedule soon, so thought it good to ask about this now.

the flight my dad and I are on gets into Boston On Thursday around 7 PM and we are renting a car at the airport. J if your reading this, clorser to the event date if you know of any road detours my dad & I my come across between Logan and Danvers, that info would be greatly appreciated. I have directions from Logan to the Days inn from the last time when my mom & I were in town but of course that doesn't tell us squat about detours.

Shiney Happy Jenn
05-07-2008, 08:46 PM
Well that is great news then...looks like we are a go for a early start on Friday.

Here is what we are thinking so far:

Begin the Event around 12-ish at the Danvers CEC. Check out the remodel, do lunch, play some games..etc...for maybe a couple of hours. Around 2ish we all head to the CV5 Hall to continue the fun. Here we plan on having a few displays and some very memorable Live Performances. This years' theme is "Magic"...as in Doug Henning "Magic"......so keep that in mind (literally!).

Now currently what has us stumped is that while we think starting early is a good idea, it was brought up that we would be at the Hall until past dinnertime. What will we be doing for dinner then? Not CEC i would assume, as we already all had Lunch there that afternoon. So what to do for the mealtime....

There are a couple of options we could do: Head to a local place for some chow ( maybe hit Salem Willows that night?) OR order Take Out ( though not pizza since we hit CEC for Lunch).

That is the only wrench in thw works at this stage: What to do for dinner on CV Night. Once everyone is at the hall people may not want to leave, even for food! We will more then likely have a snack table again, but i am not sure if this could hold everyone over until 7/8 o'clock when we plan on wrapping things up at the Hall for the evening. I suppose option 3 could be to just snack until the end, then all head out to dinner somewhere nice. Keep in mind it will be a Friday night, so there are plenty of resturant options in the area.

As far as the Schedule of Events goes...here is a rough overview. This is only hypothisis at this point- don't take it all as Official just yet!

Friday
12 :00- Meet up at Danvers for Lunch ( and some MAGICAL surprises)
2ish - Leave Danvers and head for the CV5 Hall in Salem
3 - CV5 kickoff at the Hall
4 - Games-Activites ( Ideas include Name That Showtune, a possible fun and easy craft project....etc.)
5 - Letters to Looney Bird LIVE Show Taping - this is where YOU the attendee can ask whatever question you want to Looney and J and be filmed. This footage will appear in a future episode of 'Letters to Looney Bird LIVE" !)
6 - Live Show Spectacular ( three to four acts, two of which will be MAGICAL in many aspects)
7- Grande Finale ( still being finalized..)
8 :00- Cv5 Ends

Saturday
There are two place that we may well visit...i will let J tell you all more about what we have in mind when he is ready to! It will be a EARLY start as both of these places require some driving time to get to. It is worth it though...and it will be a full day. Expect a return early evening ( 7ish maybe..). Also.....maybe, just MAYBE this will be the night we do the traditional "Parking Lot LIVE SHOW".

Sunday
Breakfast meet up...probably 8 or 9 am.

Oh well......life goes on.

We will miss ya Matt....

So i was asked today when we should open Registration for CV5. In all honesty i had to think for a millasecond "do we even need to bother?"

What i mean is......so far i think we have, what 3 people coming? Regardless of size we wil still be partaking in some fab events, but i do personally hope a few more fans will be able to join us. I know this Summer is going to be a tough one to travel...with the high fuel costs driving up arifares left and right...but trust us, we will make it well worth your while!

Well with things possibly starting around Noon then I will defintely have to fly in on JetBlue from JFK and book that ASAP while the fare is low. A start later on Friday would have given me the option of coming up on Greyhound/Peter Pan/Bolt/Megabus/Amtrak to try to save a little money but I guess that's out now.

Also, doesn't look like at the moment that anybody will split a room with me at the Days Inn so that means I'll have to stay at the Motel6 elsewhere in Danvers but that means someone will have to pick me up each day, including time for breakfast at Denny's (the M6 is in the middle of nowhere).

Hey Richard, i thought you were planning on staying straight through after the July 4th Parade appearence here, or did those plans change?

There is only Danny and his Dad that are confirmed coming that i know of at this point, thus why no one has come forward and offered to share a room. Maybe as the date gets closer we will see some more people confirm and be on board.

Actually the week+half stay was never in my plans much as I would have liked to do that...I am planning to be up there for both full weekends (including July 3) but it would have been costly in terms of hotel and vacation time off work to be up there straight through, so I will travel there twice.

Danny, since you will be celebrating your Birthday during CV Weekend.......

....i will personally perform this show just for YOU!

I have very fond memories of the original "Havin' a Party" Live. It was "our" Live in Methuen when we opened in August of 01'. I found it interesting that the Opening Training staff Corp sent in to train everyone was still using THIS Live to train people on. It was a kick-butt version too....and i remember the first time i did it with their staff i was so dumbfounded as the Show seemed to go on FOREVER ( it was a looong Live).

They continued to use it as their main Live choice until late 02' or so when the remake of "Havin' a Party" was issued on the Studio C discs. They were SO bummed at losing the old show.....after that it was pot luck as to what they did.

I would be more then happy to do this show for ya!

J or Jenn can you email me directions to the hall?

Shiney Happy Jenn

Absolutely. Complete directions to the hall will be sent before the Event......which is coming up FAST!

Today J and I are getting together for Day 2 of Prop Building ! Yes, we told you we have some Live Show surprises up out sleeves and thus we have been working on some cool props for the show!

Right now it looks like we will have a nice lineup.....and J tells me we now have 14 PEOPLE registered to attend?? Is this true?

Well, i am not going to hold my breath. If i have learned anything in the 5 years of Co-Running CV, it is that there are always last minute bow-outs and changes to the attendence number! I'm glad though to see more are planning on coming then originally thought. This means we will actually have to enhance the small display we had planned for the hall . Bots' anyone?

Well i'm fresh back from the shop where J and I made some good progress on the props. Wait until you guys see THIS...! J brought his video camera so we shot some "Behind the Cheese" videos of us working on these props....figuring out lighting...etc....so look for that to be a Bonus on the forthcoming CV5 DvD!

Yes, J tells me now we have all these people showing up..so the pressure is now on to deliver the goods! We talked a lot tonight about many aspects of CV5, from what snacks to get, to what balloons and centerpeices we should make, to what our "Plan B" should be if it rains on Saturday! We even went up to Shiney Happy "D" to scope the place out.....:D

So yeah, a pretty full day of CV5 planning. We now have a schedule and Live Show lineup pretty much set. We are awaiting some music to be included in the Show, and have some new plans in the works for a couple of added elements to the Event. Should be interesting if all works out...

That is the latest from here......!

We have about 17 days to the Event...less then two weeks! Whew...it's crunch time now, and i don't even have all my stuff together yet!

What do you mean you don't have all your stuff together yet.... I thought we were all set!!!!!=))
Man, I cant believe were this close. But ya, looks like a fun time in the works...
If you have'nt registered yet, nows the time to do it, so we can plan on enough snacks for everyone, and remember if you'd like to help out $$ wise for the snacks, there will be a donation jar out(though, Looney Bird tells me it will be inside his barrel)

I will probably be going to the hall on friday. But I will not be at CEC. I might even be working. It all depends on what the schedule is.

This just in:

TRAVEL CHUCK WILL BE AT CV5!!!

Woo hoo!! J, are you excited NOW???

For those keeping up with the saga, Travel Chuck is a plush CEC that started his little journey last May out in CA at CheeseVention 4. He visits various Board Members and gets photographed at famous sights in their area. Check out Travel Chuck's log here at Showbiz.com for more info...or better yet check out the thread in this very section!

The original plan was to have Travel Chuck go "coast to coast"...literally! He started in CA at CV4 and he was to finish his journey around the country in MA at Cv5. Well, that all went fine until he went MIA ( missing in action) for a few months....the story of which will be told at another time......but the GOOD NEWS is he is BACK and will be at CV5!!!

Since he was MIA for so long, it has been decided that yes, Travel Chuck will continue his adventures after CV....and visit more Forum Members homes and visit more famous sights! So who knows...maybe Cv6 will be where he finishes up?

I can also confirm now that we will be having BILLY BOB performing LIVE as part of our Live Show lineup! Of course, Looney Bird will also be on hand to join him.....if i can get around to painting his barrel!

Du'oh!

I still have the program to make, and record all the audio material we will be using that night.

We are probably not going to be having Official Cv t-shirts availible for sale at the Event, however, we MAY be able to get some iron-on transfers made up to pass out to attendees. These could then be applied to any shirt of their choosing at home.

Latest update now:

Today i started work on the Official Cv5 Program...you know, the brochere we usually have for everyone listing the schedule and other info. This years' addition is simplified but it looks SHARP! I like it quite a bit....it has some nice character photos on the back cover!

We also finally have the Official Schedule laid out...but i am awaiting J's official review and stamp of approval before posting it publically. It is fairly straight-forward and as noted earlier CV begins earlier then usual with the hopes it ends at a decent hour ( and NOT at 1am!). Here's hoping, anyway...

Next weekend i will begin the difficult task of pulling all of my Cyberamic cosmetic characters out of storage. I have thought long and hard about this aspect of CV, as it is a MAJOR project to get at this stuff, pull it out, haul it to the hall and set it up...just to repeat the process soon after. We originally did not have a big display planned since so few were coming, and those that were had already seen all this stuff last time at Cv2. That has now changed, as with 21+ people registered to attend coming...well, i feel a need to do it up right. So all my characters will be there if all goes to plan, including the only B.B. Bubbles known to still exsist. The King is still MIA...lol....sorry !

S.H.J.: Have you ever attempted to invite Jul Kamen, who recently donated some vintage 1977-1980's CECPTT pics and such, to come to CheeseVention 5?

No, as i figure the time to ask that question would be IF and when CV returns to TX.

Im guessing the only change already is the time we leave for NH on Saturday.
We may have to leave earlier as its a long trip. Depending on how many of us go, we may need extra cars and follow each other up there. I have a GPS so
no worries...

I dont think there will be a chat before CV5, as we simply dont have the time.... Jenn and I are busy putting finishing touches on the event, as well as a parade upcoming this friday, she is at the bear barn right up till the event, we have to dig out all the displays, transport them from her house and mine to the hall, set everything up, I have a second haunted house we are building in Salem, as well as working my full time job, and running the 1st haunted house, And in the middle of it all , Richard is coming to visit this weekend to help in the parade on friday, and we will put him to work helping with CV setup.
I hate to say it, but I think we're just too darn busy.
And yes, I know, Jenn ,about travel b****, she will help us find our way!

Yep...it's major crunch time here on my end, as well as J's. There is a lot to do and NO TIME to do it.

Part of the issue is we are both working a lot of hours at our 'real jobs' and i have been working full shifts at the 'Bear Barn' since last week ( the crucial period when last minute projects are usually finished or finalized). All this time we are thinking only 3/4 people are coming...then all of sudden we have 21 people register! So basically...i feel like i was caught with my pants down..lol...to say an old expression...and not really prepared for now suddenly having to actually produce a big display and all the trappings normally associated with a CV.

So now we are scambling ( literally) to finish things before July 11th. Actually, stuff needs to be done BEFORE then as we will be setting up the hall 2 days beforehand...yes, it's THAT complicated. I suppose we don't HAVE to do a big display...but i J and I are entertainers at heart and a Event like this brings that out in us. We plan on some fun displays and some neat themed decorations. Tonight actually we were at the shop finishing off the props for the Live Show and Cheryl made up some AWESOME table centerpieces you guys will LOVE! Wait until you see these!!

So besides working 9 to 6 every day now right up until the Event at the Bear House....between tomorrow and July 11th i have to:

Get out all the Cyberamic character out of storage.
Finsihing restoring Classic Helen Cyberamic cosmetics ( partially done..)
Paint Looney Birds' Barrel
Finish the Cv5 Program ( partially done...)
Record the Cv5 'Name That Tune" tape for the game...
Record the Live Show Segment sountrack ( awaiting music as i type..this one will be close!)
Print Programs
Assemble collectibles/pack stuff
Get Costumes together for transport
Send all registered attendees complete direction to both Danvers CEC and the Cv5 Hall in Salem.
Try to get some sleep...lol....

Once all of this is done we begin the task of shelping the stuff to the Hall over a 3 day period. That will be two van loads of stuff, plus another car/van the day of the Event with smaller items/ non expendables.

There is SO MUCH that has to be done in preperation for something like this, and having 3 weeks to do so is not enough time. I am GLAD however that we will be having more people then planned. I think it will make this Event be a step up from where it probably would have been had only the original few attended.

Once all is said and done it should be great...but it's a mad dash right now to make the deadline.

Yeah i know...i was pushing my luck thinking is was going to actually get some "sleep" in the next few days....lol....

...well, it was worth a try!

I am wiped out already! Today i am appearing in a local July 4th Parade with some other characters you may know and i need to find some energy FAST!

Well some good news though: I am finishing up the CV5 Program as i type...the text part anyway....only one more step to finish and then it will be ready to print.

So yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi there, This is just a note to remind you that friday is coming up soon. I heard that someone went into CEC in Danvers and was asking questions. I need to remind you that this is a fan get together and is not a company schedualed event. The people at the restrauant have NO information on this event, so please do not bother them. All information will be emailed to you early this week. Also if anyone will be joining us to Storyland on Saturday. Please remember you will need to make your own way there or follow the carpool.
Thanks!
"J aka Mr Munch88

PS.......Please also remember this fan get together is not endorsed or approved by the CEC company. this is only a fan get together, nothing more, nothing less. Please do not get anyone into trouble by asking CEC employees what it is all about. They do not know!
Thanks!!!

Latest update:

We have 2 more people registered...so the total count to date now is 23. If everyone shows up, this will be the most attended CV yet!

Today i had a half-day at work so i made it a point to squeeze in some Cv related prep work into the later half of my day . I painted Looney's barrel ( finally after 3 years....) so it is pretty much ready to go. I may not have the time to do any detail work however...but as long as it is blue instead of black that is good enough for me at this point. Be sure to peek into it as you will be able to see Looney's cherished photo collection pasted to the inside...lol...

I also finally finished the Cv5 Program. This will be printed in the next couple of days...and should look nice!

That is the latest from here...more news when we have it!

Oh...and in case anyone missed this in it's own seperate thread.......

Here is the link to the special promotional video J and Looney Bird shot for all of you!

I didnt forget you Adam, I just dont want anyone going into the store asking questions.... This is an official, unofficial , event, and the store should not have any worries about this event. But in case anyone is reading this, and you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO GO TO THE STORE.....please,
ask for Adam!!

Its here, its here...... Cheesevention is today, and its 8:15 am , I am waiting on a call from Rapid, to pick him up, then to pick up Jenn. I understand Danny is already here.
We were at the hall last night from, 2:00 till 9:30 setting up, I think its done... No time to reherse the show, so we will be winging it as Looney Bird said.
Snacks are baught, Cheryl worked on them last night. collectibles room is set, cyber characters are up(and not running)
I guess we now just have to have fun..:))
