Mike Meguizak (However you spell his last name) the president of CEC said we are keeping our 2-stage because every time they put in a studio C they lose a little business becuase a lot of people like the chars

It's nice to hear that they might finally be realizing how important it is to have a show with full characters. Let's hope they come up with some ideas to keep a full character show and maintain that as part of their concept for the entertainment aspect.

What exactly defines each Phase remodel, and how can I tell what Phase my store is under?

ANY store that is being remodeled is under the Phase 4 remodel. That is the only phase remodel they are currently doing at stores.

I have a good idea, keeping the Studio C concept yet with all the characters!

I wish...that's what we'd all like to see happen, but I highly doubt that.

That would definatley be a great idea. However, as bzier said, it is highly doubtful. I feel the best thing that they could do is just leave the stages as they are right now. Do not swap out any existing stages to replace with a Studio C. It would be great if every CEC had a different stage show so that there would be some variety in each CEC. We could then go to a CEC with a certain stage type that we enjoy. Corporate would not have to spend the money to remove a show and replace a new Studio C, they could just use the money to fix up an existing stage show. Maybe this isn't the greatest of all ideas, but I think it could be something to ponder.

My CEC us getting the same remodel pretty soon, surprisingly we are still going to be open during that time, and its crazy because word has it the the contruction people who are doing it are pretty messy, so we'll just see ow it goes! They said the showroom will be pushed back further and the skytubes will possibly get smaller, as well as they will be adding more newer games!

All the remodeling work is done after hours, so you don't have to worry about the guys making a mess during business hours.
The normal pattern is they arrive around 10ish before the store closes, and work straight through the night. They leave around the time the opening managers and CM's are arriving to open.
I experienced both Danvers and Methuen's "Phase 3" remodel back in 2001 when Toddler Zone was installed and Skytube enhancements ( the cars,,etc.). Every night for about 3/4 days the guys would show up with there truck shortly before we closed for the night. They went all night and would be out by the time myself or others would be back to open the store at 8am. Things did get messy, but the guys would always clean up pretty well and store all of there supplies and tools behind a tarped area.
The "Phase 4" is mostly signage and inner decor......namely the new CEC purple and red outdoor signage and canopys, painted walls ( some purple), and removal of all old indoor decor/signs. These will be replaced with all new current decor.
In my District, we already had two Stores remodeled early last year. Both of our NH locations are now Phase 4 and look really nice. One lost it's 2-Stage ( Manchester, the Training Location) but the other kept theres. Danvers will also keep there show....i never doubted that due to it's excellent working condition. All of the 90's era signs, cd awards, and the like will be stripped off the walls and junked and the wall seperating the Game Room from the Showroom will likely be ripped out. This is very common with all Phase 4 remodels. The walls behind cash and the walls of the Showroom will all be painted purple. It's actually a nice look beleive it or not.
As long as the Show stays as is, it does not bother me that Phase 4 is finally knocking on the Danvers wall.
I am VERY happy to hear from Mr. M that the company had decided to quit installing Studio C Shows to replace old CyberBots'. Naturally i would like to think this is because the finally realize how crappy Studio C is....but my guess would be the REAL reason they have come to this decision is simply cost. Leaving a Show is far cheaper then paying top dollar for labor and materials to gut an old show, and install a new one.

My exact thoughts. I really hope this is the route that corporate decides to take.

Me too!
While i was in CA for CheeseVention 4 earlier this week i visited a store that still had a Rocker Stage ( complete with Flag Wavers!) and two other locations that had the rare "Road" Stage setup. I assumed these would all be gutted come later this year when their Phase 4 remodels hit, but now this recent news makes me think that these Old Shows have a better chance of surviving.
For those curious, if you live in the CA area check these stores out before its too late:
San Bernidino ( Ex-PTT with a fine 2-stage)
Corona ( currently under Phase 4 remodel, still has it's "Road" Stage in excellent condition..hopefully will be keeping it)
Simi Valley ( Awesome retro location with repainted "Rocker' Stage, Flag Wavers, and original early 90's 'oil paintings' in Showroom. Well worth the trip to see)
Plasenca (sp?) Also has a "Road" Stage though this one is in rough shape with improperly installed lighting)

I am still in amazement to see the Flag Wavers at this location in California. I really need to see this in person before anything happens to them. Wow, I haven't seen these flags displayed since I was like 12 years old! Too bad this store hasn't decided to program them to work. I'd be in CEC heaven with the decor style of this store. Great Find, guys! And thanks for the pics!
