Aaron told me that as long as the send and return on the cylinder stroke are the same time the characters will work. In other words the mouth needs to open and close at the exact same speed and each movement and counter movement needs to match as well. Not only do both eye lids need to open and close at the same time with themselves but they also need to be in perfect sync with the other lid. Just make sure your movements are all at the same speed and you won't need the diagnostic tape.
