How are the different songs categorized and how can you tell when your song/skit is going to be played? I heard some of them have time constraints.

The buttons will light up it might be a few or all of them you can only push the ones that are lighten up. (Nothing will happen you push the ones that are dark) And after you push one of the buttons it will start to flash and then the curtains will open and they will say thank you for pushing the button and then curtains will close. Then the panel will go dark and after the computer finds the song you pick it will play it.

Thats pretty cool, I've never actually used the show selector but I've heard about it.

Sometimes it can be a real pain and have to wait a long time before the show starts. That's how it is at Fun World.

with the show selector, if nobody picks a show, does the system automatically pick one, or are you stuck with nothing until somebody presses a button? I saw a picture that showed a panel labeled "manager show selector". what was that?

That is a special show selecter for the manager to push buttons on only. It had live shows for a RAE walkaround, special shows, and birthday shows.

Yeah it should, the one Circus Pizza that had the system would play a show after a set time was up if no one selected a show. I think that max it can be set for is 8 minutes.

Unrelated but similar are the old Chuck E. Cheese Lounge/caberets like the Beagles, Dolli Dimples, King etc. Originally these ran on a token box (later free) but if you let them sit long enough they would come on automaticallly. I think any of these animatronic shows, RAE or otherwise, generally have a default timer.
