Dude that's an awesome find!! It seems that '79 is pretty much the earliest year that we've found most memrobilia from those days, with the exception of a few stuff. I agree, someone get a hold of that!

There are a few items that have turned up that are earlier, but they are very rare. Part of the reason is by 79, PTT only had 6 to 8 locations open. Mass-merchandising was at a bare minimum so what items were made were done so in small quantities. Thus the rareness.

By 80' and exspecially 81', PTT had grown considerably and naturally needed to produce more product in greater numbers. 80' was probably the first "big" merch year. Many early PTT items featuring the original complicated theatre marquee logo turn up, as well as the Classic Rat side view image.

This shirt is a find. It will be interesting to see what it goes for.

Nice find Gabe... and a steal for $20. There was a yellow one on eBay awhile back (my cpu says March of 2005). There was also a vintage 'Big C' one that was probably from 79 too.

I'm still working on the CEC clothing section but I've got the grand daddy of scarce PTT shirts.... It's the one Chuck's wearing in the grand opening ad from the 1st store. Dated 1977 Atari.

Only one I've ever seen. It's something I've held onto just because I know it's got to be among the rarest early collectables.

That's Definitely The Rarest Collectible of All, Especially Since It's Probably One of A Kind And Is From 1977 When They Barely Did Any Merch. Also the Fact That It Was Worn By Chuck for the Grand Opening Ad.

Listen To Me, NEVER Give That Thing Away.

You Should Also Show It To Nolan Bushnell At CV4. I Bet He'll Remember That Shirt.

Awesome pix there Vega! I REALLY like the "Big C" shirt. Wow!

The "Bite Me" t-shirt was a free giveaway from the opening weekend of the first PTT. The famous "Grand Opening" ad mentions it ( check it out in the Info Section on this very site!) and i believe it states that a shirt was availible for the first 1000 guests to come.

Now how many of those STILL exsist is unknown, but i totally agree that it surely has to be one of THE rarest collectibles, and one of the most historically important.

And to think, i had to turn down Vega's offer a few years back to purchase it! Argh! What was i thinking???? Well at that time i did not have the $$$.....now is a different story.....

Nice early late 1970's CECPTT shirts! I wonder if any Crusty, Munch, Pasqually, and/or Warblettes shirts from the 1977-1979 era ever exist.

It is very possible that a early Munch shirt exsists, as Munch was new and the character they were promoting on merch back in 79'/80'.

I would say yes, there probably was a shirt.

We can even add to the list the 1979 Chuck E. Cheese "Bite Me! at Pizza Time Theatre now!" shirt from the first real CECPTT in Huntington Beach, California that I recently saw in the "Original PTT Bots Exist" thread.

I find those shirts really interesting I've had about three different shirts my self. Only to be lost over time.

Now all the merchandice is Chucke oriented. You would be hard pressed to find and other plush dolls , but Chucke's.

Yeah I always liked merch for the other characters. I think over the years they have had too much old stock of the non-Chuck E. stuff, especially Pasqually. The thing is, most of the kids don't seem to really care who the others are. Chuck E. is the main one. Girls like Helen because at that age they relate to a female character. I doubt anyone really cares about Munch, Jasper and Pasqually in particular. Back in the day they had stuff for alot of the others. I was always frustrated that Harmony never got anything but they did do a lot of Dolli stuff.
