posting for Jenn...

Hi Gang!

Well we are coming up fast to the Big Bash on May 18th/19th/20th! For those who have been following along in the previous lengthy CheeseVention 4 thread, you already know we have a lot planned this year and only a couple of days to do it all!

So here now is the TENTATIVE Schedule of Events for this year's CV. I stress tentative as i am making some guesses when it comes to the traveling times involved in reaching certain destinations ( namely SJ to Anehiem, and the Saturday Drive-a-Thon..) I have posted this here in a new thread to bring it to everyone's attention and to avoid it being "lost" in the huge general CV4 chat thread.

Please feel free to add comments and note any corrections/adjustments that need to be made...exspecially if you live locally or have experience driving in CA and the distances involved ( you know who you are!)

I plan on putting the Souvenier Program together for the Event in the next few weeks, and will include this schedule within it. I thought you would all like to know it in advance, since this year we will be spending a LOT of time driving around.

Of course, opinions and suggestions are ALWAYS welcome! Anything related to the schedule should be talked about here, and any other topic related to the event should go in the main CV4 thread.

Okay, here is the lineup!

---------------------------------------------------

TENTATIVE CheeseVention 4 Schedule of Events 2007

**Friday May 18th** Day 1

Location: San Jose CA
Time: 10am start

10am--Meet up at the Best Western/Tully Road with fellow attendees and take in the local PTT related attracions including: Original PTT Headquarters in Sunnyvale, First Store location ( now a mini mall)...etc.

12PM-- Official 30th Birthday Bash at the San Jose CEC Location/Tully Road. Awesome Birthday Bash for the Rat himself! Food, fun, cake, tokens, and surprises galore! Chuck appears and performs LIVE!

2PM-- Rockin' Road Trip-- This is when we leave CEC and begin the long trek to Southern CA. BRING YOUR RAE CDs people! Stops will be made along to the way to stretch legs...don't worry!

7pm/8pm---Arrive in Aneheim CA at the Days Inn/Ball Road ( near DisneyLand). Check in, unpack, and chill out.

**Saturday May 19th** Day 2

Location: Anehiem, CA
Time: 10am start

10am--Breakfast meetup

11am--Head off to uWink Bristo, PTT Founder Nolan Bushnells new resturant concept.

12/12:30 pm--Lunch at uWink Bristo, take in the electronic/computerized novelties and munch on some gourmet goodies.

2pm--Drive-a-Thon to Rock-aFire Pizza ( road trip). Along the way we may stop by the Simi Valley CEC location, one of only two stores that still operates a original "Porch" Stage. ( Note: If time does not allow for a visit to Simi on this day, we can visit Sunday afternoon instead)

5/6:00 pm--Finale Dinner at Rock-aFire Pizza. Party down with one of the last remaining commerically used Rock-aFire Explosion shows at this RAE themed pizza complex. Cv Co-Host yours truly drew the logos!

8/9:00 pm--Leave for return drive back to Aneheim Days Inn.

10/11:00pm-- Arrive back at Days Inn/Ball Road in Aneheim to crash and maybe get some sleep ( sleep? what is that man?)

**Sunday May 20th** Day 3

Location: Aneheim, CA
Time: 10am start

10am--Breakfast Send-Off ( Cv4 close)

--------------------------------------------------------

CV4 officially ends....HOWEVER...MOST attendees will stay in town a few days afterwards. As such, most of us will more then likely get together and enjoy some of the local attractions including Disneyland ( which is walking distance from Days Inn), LA, Universal, Knott's Berry Farm, etc.

Sunday for myself and Travis will be devoted to DisneyLand once CV4's Breakfast Send-Off is over. I am sure many who are also staying longer will join us, so below is a rough suggestion for Sunday. Again, CV4 is officially over at this point, this is just fun extra ciricular activities.

Sunday Post CV--

DisneyLand for the bulk of the day/night
Dinner at the Blue Buyou resturant in DisneyLand, POTC, AdventureLand.

CEC3066 has offered to book reservations for this great themed resturant located inside DL's "Pirates of the Caribbean" attraction. Danny if you are reading this, i would reserve for 8 to be safe. Are those staying after Cv4 up for dinner here this night? I figured it would be the time for this since Veganova will only be in town for this night before leaving for home.

Again, and thoughts and suggestions are more then welcome.

Rapid T. Rabbit ( Richard) also suggested perhaps we do a Character Breakfast ( Goofy's Kitchen at the DisneyLand Hotel). Maybe this could be done on Monday morn? Again, i am just shooting out ideas.

could we make it a Blue Bayou Lunch instead the only reason I am asking is their Dinner prices are more expensivve as you pointed out and Lunch is the only time you can get the Monte Cristo Sandwiich. But if you woould rather do dinner there thats fine i'm sure i can findd a nice steak on the menu. MMMMMM STEAK!

Lunch is fine Danny, as usually the Lunch menu is more reasonable price-wise.

Sunday Lunch at the Blue Bayou is cool with me.

Update to the schedule now:

Danny had booked us a seating at the fabulous Blue Bayou resturant in DisneyLand on Sunday afternoon at 1:40. Although this is a after CV4 activity, it is noteworthy of being included here.

Thanks so much Danny for booking us this spot!

Something came to light recently and i thought i would bring it up here: Will we need a car for traveling around on any of the days after CV4? I'm talking about Sunday/Monday/Tuesday now....

I ask as our original "taxi man" may well have to leave on Sunday and will not be around afterwards to cart anyone. Vega has noted that he would be heading out on Monday, and i think The Captain said he was planning on hooking up with friends on Tue/Wed....so maybe we do not need one?

I just thought i would bring this up, as those needing transport to the airport or other points will need to make plans or make additional travel arrangments ( via taxi, etc.)

Just a heads up!

Again, this is in regards to the few days AFTER CV4. The Event itself we will be fine with transport/vehicles. Last i checked, there will only be 6/7 of us traveling together on Fri/Sat.

well if we don't hit Simi on Saturday how are we gonna get there? WALK?

What i am suggesting is we might want to look into renting a vehicle for a couple of days. I do not drive, so it would have to be either Vega or The Captain...however i know Vega leaves Monday and Mike was hooking up with local friends.

If we do not hit Simi on Saturday after uWink ( which IS possible considering what might happen...) we can go maybe Monday afternoon? Vega, Richard, The Captain, and myself will all still be around.

Aww...I really hope we get the chance to hit Simi Valley on Saturday then! I'll be driving back up to Sacramento on Monday to visit my girlfriend...so if you guys go there on Monday, I'll miss out!

We will do our best Bzier. It depends on how long we are at uWink and when we eventually leave there. The plan is to arrive around 12:30 at uWink and leave around 2. If Nolan arrives to spend time with us, which is possible now, we may end up leaving uWink later. It all depends on the meeting really. I think most here would agree that if Nolan turns out for the festivities, the focus of the afternoon should be spending some quality time with him.

If we get out of uWink later then expected, we may need to decide how to spend the rest of the night. It may be decided by the group in attendence to just skip Rock-aFire Pizza altogether and hit Simi CEC instead. I only suggest this as a possibility, as their is a lot of interest from those coming to CV4 this time around to hit Simi and see the Rocker Stage in action. Rock-aFire Pizza would be cool, but with the bad reviews i have heard about the place and the poor shape the RAE Show is in there, it may turn out to be a better choice to have the CV Finale Dinner at the Simi Valley CEC.

However, we will wait and see. I will leave RA-Pizza on the official schedule and we will play it by ear and see what transpires at uWink. Whatever happens there during our Lunch will really pretty much dictate what we do for the rest of the day/night i think.

Hey Jenn...Is Nolan pretty much carved in stone or? I may now have a chance to attend for the CV4 part but not if his appearance still in the air... :choochoo:

When i heard from Nolan, he expressed that he found our Event very interesting, and his response to the invitation to join us was: " I will make every attempt to attend".

Now take it as you wish, but to me that means he will make it a point to meet up with us at uWink when we plan on visiting. He knows when we will be there, what time, and what this Event is all about. The location is his place, and it would be a comfortable situation, so it looks very promising.

I have a very good feeling he will join us...but i cannot say it is "absolute, definate, carved in stone" that he will appear. Being the famous gent he is, who knows what could happen in his schedule between now and May 19th.

I have a very good feeling though that he will join us. It's not every day a group of people show up to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of a concept you created! :cecwink:

I'm still for trying to hit Simi on Saturday. If our plans call for being at uWink at 12:30, why couldn't we just leave Anaheim earlier in the morning and go to Simi for awhile before uWink? I thought they were like less than 30 mins apart and most CEC's open at what... like 10am?

I totally think we could do it - it would just take a little more get up and go in the morning. That would also leave the possibility to see Rock-afire Pizza even if Nolan's meet runs a little long. :cecwink:

If I go which is looking pretty good, my mom and are are renting a car so we'll give a lift to whoever needs it and whoever can cram into our car... ;)

I was ALSO hoping to check out Simi Valley! Vega's idea sounds good although things 30 mins apart could to turn into an hour due to traffic...I'd hate to "stand up" Nolan cause we weren't back in time or stuck in traffic... :bbembarassed:

One week to go folks!!

Just bumping this thread up so everyone can clearly see what we have planned.

I also wanted to add the additional info regarding some dining reservations that have been made for our group, for whoever is staying after CV4 to take in DisneyLand.

Sunday afternoon at 1pm we have reservations for Lunch at the "Blue Bayou"...a highly rated resturant themed to a Southern plantation, complete with atmospheric embelishments! It is located inside DL's "Pirate's of the Caribbean" attracion.

Monday morning we have reservations for Breakfast at "Goofy's Kitchen" at the DisneyLand Hotel ( across the street from the Park). This is a highly rated Characters Meal with a great buffet and visitations from classic Disney Characters.

Those who would rather not participate in either of these activities please feel free to do whatever you wish. It is not mandatory to partake in these, so don't feel it is something you "have" to do. It WILL be fun though....and the more that come the merrier it will be!

Be sure to bring $$ to cover the costs of your meal(s). :)

our ressie for BB is actually 1:40 w/ a time of being at the host podium by 1:30 but Jenn has the right idea w/ a group as large as we are if we say 1, that will give everyone plenty of leeway to get to the restaurant.

I'm out on the dining. I'm opting for cheaper, faster means of food. Besides, I've alread spent tons of money on this trip as it is! I might go broke! ;)
You guys have fun though!
