Who here besides me is a fan of Pee-wee Herman? He had some funny movies, especially Big Top Pee-wee, my ultimite favorite. They also had this talking doll that scared the crap out of me. When you pulled the string too fast, he went, "nisfdhsufhsufhsudfhsudhsudhsudhsaudhsuadsuhdusdhsu adhsaudhsauidsafisahfashdfasd!!!" (translation: Hi, I'm Pee-wee Herman!!!") I can impersonate him pretty good, too.

I am a big fan of him! And I have the 2 Pee Wee's playhouse DVD box sets. I have always wanted that doll!

I have the first box set of Pee-wee's Playhouse. I also wanna get the HBO premiere called "The Pee-wee Herman Show." If the doll's voice wasn't crapped up then the doll would be awesome and I would've bought a bunch, but since that's not reality, I am freaked out by it. My neighbors have one, too. That's where I was first introduced to it.

I need to get those season sets... I used to love that show as a kid.
I have his two movies on DVD. It had been forever since I saw Big Top Pee-Wee so when I watched it again it was all new. That scene where he sleeps with the girl and it shows that image of the train going into the tunnel - I laughed so hard at that. :eek Just really caught me off guard...

I know what ya mean, Vega. When I saw that I was like...WTF?!?!?! Pee-wee + Gina?!?!?!!??! I would like to buy both on DVD. Right now I only have them on VHS.

Pee Wee rules.
I worshiped his show in the 80's.
I have a lot of videos, including his pre-tv show appearence ( "The Pee Wee Herman Show") which is a gas.
I also have a pretty decent size collection of PW items i've had since the heydays of "Pee Wee's Playhouse". Several dolls, puppet plush Chairy, and the entire set of action figures except Cowboy Curtis.
The crown jewel of this collection is the Pee Wee Playhouse Playset. THis is a huge playset that was made in the late 80's to use with the action figures. It's awesome!!!! I still have all the original boxes for all these itmes too....yeah, i'm a freak like that.
I thought it was awesome the night of the Mtv Awards back in 94' or so when he came on after the scandal broke and appeared for the first time since in his costume. He opened the awards show by saying: "So....heard any good jokes?". The guy got a standing ovation for that..man it was great!!

Jenn, is your PW doll "motor mouthed," if you know what i'm saying?

paul rueben got a really bad rap for what happened.
i mean its not like he did sexual things with an intern while being pres of the USA. :P
overblown reactions to all of that crap.
he was doing what many people do in those types of theatres... so yeah.
i find him funny, though pee-wee would probably be touted as a child molester or gay these days, which never goes over well. :(
Hes a very funny man, i once saw some stand up comedy he did after the "incident", and the guy is a hoot, similar to bob saget, dave coulier, or dustin diamond

Wouldn't it be cool if at a theme park or something, they had a Playhouse just like Pee-wee's complete with all the robot characters moving and talking and everytihng? That would be sweet. :D

I saw the playhouse play set at the Flea Market. It was $40 or more. I would love to get that!

$40!?!?!?!?!?!?! Geez, was it like factory sealed in the box? Cripes!!! :lol
I need to get those season sets...
Better hurry up, Vega. I just went to buy #2 (the second season set), and most stores have already gotten rid of them. Same with the 2 movies. If they are doing this because of the scandal, THEY NEED TO GROW UP!!! That was freaking 15 years ago!!!!

nah, they are most likely doing it since its probably not selling as well as they would like it to, and TV dvds are hot right now so they make room for more.

MMBBFan.....yes, one of my PW dolls is a "talkie". My other version is the non-talking one. I still have the original box for my talking doll....yee hee!
Same goes for the Playhouse Playset. I have always kept the boxes for my items. I could never bring myself to toss em' as the graphics are too cool on many of the boxes. This was long before it because "known" that saving the boxes was perhaps one of the most important things when it comes to toy collecting, etc.
I guess you could say i was ahead of the times!
I saved everything....yeah, i'm a freak like that, Just look at my PTT collection!!! LOL!!!!

Doens't it kinda freak you out? lol
Also Jenn, do you remember how much PW dolls were back when they were sold? I always wondered that. I saw the non-talking one at 7 Mile Fair (which is like an outdoor flea market), and it was like $8 and since it didn't talk, I wanted it, but when I came back with the money it was gone...(which was about 7 minutes later).

I have been to 7 Mile Fair before.

I try to avoid 7mile fair since it tends to be 50% knockoff crap, another good percentage "AS SEEN ON TV" crap, and then maybe 2-4% is actual flea market stuff that you went there for in the first place.

Well let's see...
I bought my talking version new from the local Toys R' Us back in 87' when it first came out for around $25. That was a lot of money back then for a figure like that. Of course now, it's worth triple that in it's original box....
The non-talking version i came across at a flea marker loose but in great condition. It was like $5 or so. I met a guy selling a load of Pee Wee figures and he could see i was a collector so i was invited back to his place and he showed me his huge storehouse full of every kind of action figure known to man! It was freaking awesome...and i went home with a lot of stuff..mostly PW things. This was back in 88/89'. I bought my Playset and all the figures from him MIP and the loose doll. I probably spent almost $200 all together.
It was a good investment as all of that stuff is now very rare and hard to find. The Playset alone is a treasure and i still have the box too...which is great!

I love Pee-Wee. I watched the show all the time when I was little, and the movies rock! I think we also had a talking doll at one time as well, a loooong time ago. We had an Ed Grimley one that was the same pull-string kind too. Got rid of both though...:(

Today I just got an original VHS tape of the episode "Tons O' Fun." It's from the old line of tapes from like '87 or so.
