Deep thought #1: Wow that little end show really did suck. And Rolfe outsmarting Earl...I mean where they THAT cheap they couldnt get that right? Its funny how I remember a little of that video...scared the hell out of me at the time (Rolfe and Earl scary sounding as ever, weird mouse on screen, and no Mitzi). Good to know why though LOL!
Deep thought #2: What was up with the Mitzi and Dook thing? In the Beatles melody and the Sloopy one they have them like their romantic for each other. I dont recall any other refrences to that so maybe Im just noticing it too much in 2 lil videos LOL! Ironically enough I think me and my sister always thought Beach Bear and Mitzi should hook up...but thats just cuz they seemed so much alike I guess LOL! I really dont know any reason :p .
Deep thought #3: 80s! Holy crap that was a blast from a past I was too young to remember. But WOW to those 'effects' LOL.
And that was my deep thoughts. Also I clicked that CEC video from PTT era and it kinda gave me a little contrast. What I dont understand was why the show that was less superior movement wise, less pretty and neat looking, and hard on the ears was choosen over the RAE. But the Aaron issues with the company I guess answers that (no its not bashing I just mean from what I know they didnt get along.) Weird.

OH and in relation to my first deep thought:
if Rolfe is the 'controller' and Earl the puppet (the only physically possible way 'in theory') then isnt he a bit manic depressive or self hating LOL?! Or maybe hes one of those Jessica Simpsons: looks dumb but knows what works for his act.

When Showbiz took over PTT after the bankrupcy, they "owned" the PTT/CEC characters from that point on. They did'nt have to pay any royalties to anyone since they now owned all the rights.
The RAE however....Air owned the rights. Showbiz did'nt want to have to keep paying him royalty fees for use of the RAE characters, and that includes all shows and merchandise sporting their images.
It was simply a cost cutting, business decision. Gradually the downplaying of the RAE characters at Showbiz ticked Air off and with the growing friction between CEI and SPT they gradually split away from each other. I'm sure you already know the backstory, so no need for me to elaborate.
So the CEC show was what remained as it's the only one that the Company actually owned all on their own.

True. Thats such an 'American' point of view. Just screw the little guy and forget quality. And looooook where they're at now :p .
But maybe Im being too harsh; I've never heard the older PTT shows so maybe I cant judge fully.

i just cant believe it was called the rolfe and earle show. it shows how little they bothered to even look into anything at all about rae. and youre right... were they really that out of tune with what was going on that they didnt know earl was the smart one?

Of course they were! Remember, it was'nt Showbiz Pizza Time Inc that produced the RAE shows...it was Creative Eng! They did'nt have a flippin' clue as to what it takes to pull off a good show, and in some ways they STILL don't. >: It's painfully obvious when you look at the crapola that was produced after CEI split away from the Company.
It was CEI that saw the importance of having a kick-butt show...not Showbiz as a Company. That's why so many of the CEC shows suck...as the bigwigs still don't get what it's all about: Entertainment.
( oh no...i feel another Jenn rant coming on!!) :lol
Grrrr...it ticks me off to no end how these Corporate types can never seem to see the light! It's all about the entertainment...not the stock quote! >:

The funny thing is if the show was bareable for your average adult they would probably take their kids there more, and if they ya know made the show more quality and appealed to 'above 5 years old' they would have so much better stock quotes. But I guess Im not business man :p

I am not sure of this, but did Aaron own 19 or 20% of ShowBiz Pizza Place, Inc before Brock left and later became ShowBiz Pizza Time, Inc...I think I have read this somewhere.

Well, the "Classic" era for PTT is considered to be from 81 thru 83', both as far as execution of the show and the overall aptmosphere of the locations at that time.. PTT/CEC still continued to do decent shows right into the late 80's ( 87', and 88' were excellent examples) but when the 90's came on..well, things started to slide. I would say the last year of "real" PTT style shows was in that time period...late 80's. Once video monitors and videos started "competing" with the Cyber Shows, things started to shift.
The early 90's shows were good...even the post CU stuff was okay. However, the old PTT "edge" was gone. Everything in the shows was more geared for children and it was becoming more and more obvious as time went on. The voices were changed to make it seem more appealing to the kiddies...and by 1998 you could hardly beleive this was CEC. Things had changed so much, and the material at that time was so poorly executed.
It was'nt until 1999 that we were "rescued" by Jeremy and the new crew at CECE's Entertainment Dept. The new "golden era" of modern day CEC Shows was between 1999 thru 2002. After that point, to me at least, the quality again seemed to slide a bit...once again falling into the toddler friendly vat of quicksand. Periodically we have a good show ( like the current one running in stores for example...) but on the whole things have been a little blah.
Just my opinion mind you....this is not anything offiial or anything! :)
