For me, it was definitely the music because they did a lot of good covers by my favorite artists. When I saw them for the first time in 1994 I was shocked that they performed the kind of music that my mom and dad liked. The first song I've ever heard from them was "Get Ready (cause here I come)" and I really enjoyed it, after a few songs that were played, I was hooked. When I got older I listened to the original versions, not the RAE covers until I found them on a website a few months ago. In fact, I have a 4 Disc set burned by me of the original recordings and I have a 3 disc set of the Best of The Rock-Afire Explosion burned by me, so now I can enjoy the songs whenever I want, all I have to do is just pop the CD in my CD player and BAM, instant oldies power. When I saw them live about 5 months ago, after every song was played I chanted "OLDIES POWER!", "OLDIES POWER!" and I fell in love with them again. I've always loved the songs they covered and I still will.

EVERYTHING got me interested in them.. the animation, the lights, the coreography( I was too little to know what that word meant..LOL!) and the music.

According to my parents I was 'raised' at Showbiz: when I was a baby/toddler I wouldnt eat my 'sausage pizza' (ironic that years later I became a vegetarian :p ) unless the show was played so sometimes they'd turn it on for me :D (odd I didnt remember this story tell now...)

So I cant say anything 'got me interested' per se` though it must have been fascinating as a baby LOL!!! I grew up with it I really did...I had to see MITZI! But I was always too freaked out to go in the show room Id say after I was like 3 or 4...Rolfe was gonna eat me thats all I knew.

When CEC replaced them in 92 (I would have been 5) it broke my heart and I always wondered what happened to them especially because no one really knew. LOL this is embarassing to admit but for many years I still had Rolfe and Earl in my nightmares LOL right up tell I found this site :p ! I also always had my Mitzi doll :) . I dont remember WHY I decided to google 'Showbiz Pizza' so again I dont know what attracted me to it bout 3-4 years ago. But once I got here and heard the old skits and read all the info and watched the videos I fell back in love...just everything about the RAE was impressive!

First commercial I saw. I think I was hooked then. It started airing a couple of weeks before it opened December 19,1981.
We went Christmas Eve that year and I was in amazement and have been ever since. It's been a blessing and a curse at the same time for me.

My fascination with the group began several months ago when one of my managers (I work in a supermarket) informed me about a new restaurant that now stands where a SPP/CEC once stood. It was the one that my parents often took me to throughout my childhood. After receiving word about the new franchise, I began to think about the fun times I had at SPP when I was younger. And since I love rock n' roll, it's no surprise that the Rock-Afire Explosion has sparked interest with once more. All of the characters truly has mass appeal, especially for those like me who love the realm of rock/pop.

Long live the RAE!

I grew up with Chuckie Cheese, so I haven't seen a Rock-afire show in person. It wasn't until I found this site that I found out about the Rock-afire Explosion.
