4. The Sign Stops Working For Hours On End.

5. Dook Has No Drumsticks. :x

6. Billy Bob's Gas Pump Has It's Globe Cracked and Split Open.

7. The Sun Mask Has A Gash In It.

8. The Character Valance Is Dirty.

9. The Applause Sign Brakes and Shoots Sparks. Luckily, it was removed After 2 Days.

10. The Curtains Don't Close. You Heard Me Right. The Curtains.. Don't.. Close. It Gets Really Creepy Seeing The RAFE Without The Curtains, Cause You See Their Faces All Frozen Like.

11. Fatz Waives His Arms and Doesn't Actually Play the Organ.

12. Beach Bear is Better Than the Others. All He Has Wrong is That His Surfboard Is A Bit Cracked.

13. Lastly, One of the Pots of Gold On Rolf's Stage Is Fallen Over and Is Split in Several Places.

This Just Goes to Show That No one Cares Anymore About These Animatronics. |I :( |I :( |I :(

The source that told me this info was wrong. Fun Station USA never had a name change. It never closed. The 5-Star Restaurant only replaced the ice cream/hot dog area. The Rock-aFire was moved into Fun Station's Maze. Details below.

The three stages were seperated and spread out throughout the maze.
All characters look brand new and have fresh cosmetics.
Mitzi now has her letter sweater again.
Earle has a head again.
A storage room in the maze holds the props.
All props were fixed and either put in the storage area or on one of the three stages.
Looney Bird has his can again.
The pots of gold were fixed.
The rainbow curtain was removed
The gas-pump globe has been fixed.
The valance was cleaned.
Sadly, the show was not operating because it was disconnected. However, the stage was set-up as if it was to perform that very day.

It kinda sounds like the stages are spread out in such a way that the maze walls prevent stage-to-stage "eye contact" but the characters still talk to each other through the walls. I'm going on either Saturday or Sunday to take pictures. All I know is that the show never turned on. It was as if the show was disconnected or something. The three stages were all seperated. However, all of the characters were on the stages as if the show was gonna go on, but it never did.

I'm back. It was fun. However, I can't say the same for the show. If you even call it a show. I've compiled a list of things gone wrong.


The stages are all gone. The curtains, valances, stage, props, valves, power boxes, controls, etc are all gone.
Mitzi, Rolfe & Earle, and Looney Bird are gone.
The remaining four characters are spread around the place.
Dook is missing his hands.
Billy Bob's cosmetics are dirty and worn.
Billy Bob's guitar is destroyed (The latex is off the metal base and the metal strings from the guitar are dangling out.
Fatz has no eyes.
Fatz's left foot is curled up.
Fatz's gold jacket is ripped alot. Especially the back.
Fatz is being held up by some metal strings.
Dook's right cymbal is knocked over onto his middle snare drum.
Some of Dook's Tree stump base are rolled onto the grass of his base.
Dook is missing his hat,
Beach Bear was in best condition. Though still bad.
His groin area right above the surfboard has a big hole where you can see his innards. This is something anyone would notice.
The front sign still says animated shows, even though it is no longer a show.Pics up soon.

The one nice thing I can say is that I like the painted wall behind them.

That's really upsetting. I will however admit I really do like what the layout of the store appears to be, like a funhouse maze or something.

It's infact an indoor amusement park. The Rock-afire used to play in the party room. There were also murals of the rockafire at the entrance, but most of the murals were covered up by white posters and vending machines. I asked a worker about purchasing them, but of course he said no. We are going to contact the manager by phone to find out if I can give these guys a nice home. I'm gonna need a lot of luck to do this.

Also: The area Dook and Beach Bear are in is the Mini Himalaya area. They are a bout 3 feet from the track. Billy Bob and Fatz are in gutted areas of the skytube super-maze.

As soon as I find out I have another chance at seeing the rockafire in action again it gets dismanteled...I guess my only chance now is to have a birthday party. Unless FunStation decides to put everything back and stuff but I doubt that would happen.

That's something that drives me crazy! All of these places that had or have RAE's...if they don't work, and you aren't ever gonna fix them and get them working again, instead of trashing them, sell them to us fans! It really depresses me when I hear how many RAE's are left, and then hearing about their condition makes it even worse. :(

At least the members here that own RAE stages know and care enough to keep these guys in almost minty-fresh CEI condition!

After looking at the site i was thinking.. it seems this place had enough money to keep their rides in good condition. If they could keep their rides up to date couldnt they do the same for their rae? of course they could. But they wont, why? because they dont have too. but when it comes to their rides they do because they have state inspections/standards to meet. Companys do the bare minimums to avoid fines and to make a bigger profit. Its a shame that they do this and get away with it. I bet if they held back on buying new games till they saved up 2000 dollars they could improve their rae significantly

I went to Fun Station today, and snapped a few pics. Nothing's changed since RAFE CEC Guy's photo post with the Rock-afire gang. I did find interesting they still have some artwork of the RAE though. I attached some pics of the RAE members still there. The brighter Beach Bear picture was a modified version of the darker one, as I didn't pay tokens to get in the Himalaya and it was too far for the flash.

Hello people. I just went to Fun Station yesterday, and I'm somewhat happier. Sadly, I have no pics, but I will return there on Febuary18th. Well, the characters did get a little better. I also got to speak with the manager of Fun Station. He had said that he actually needed to do maitenance on the characters many years ago, but whenever he contacted Creative, he wouldn't get a response, so he tore down the show. Everything except the 4 characters was thrown out, and the characters were moved to their current locations. So, I asked directly how much he wants for Billy, and he said $14,000. So, in my head was, "ummm..... wtf......" Here's what happened to the characters and the other stuff.

List of Improvements:

Billy Bob's guitar strings have been tyed together.:bb_happy2:
Fatz's feet have been fixed.
Billy's Mask has been lifted. It's almost high enough to show his eyes.
Oh yeah, Billy has eyes still. The mask is just not in place with the head mech.
Same with Fatz about the eyes.
Dook's tree stump part of the platform was fixed up a little.
Beach Bear's fur looks a little cleaner
One side of Dook's sleeve is covering that side of his broken hand.
The drum set was re-aligned
The mural is being more and more revealed.(Less vending machines in front, less white boards in front of faces.)List of Bad Things:

Fatz's jacket is coming off and is starting to show the fiberglass body.
Dook's hands are still detached.I'll do another update including photos on Febuary 18th. See ya then.

Ok so this is in fact the same place as the ones that were on stage then? I was confused about that since some people were calling it Fun Zone at some point. I'll talk to Jeff about getting these new ones added on and putting a divider on the page between the older stage pics and these newer ones.

You know though, I was sent the pictures of them on stage back in 2000 and even then the show was all crapped out. There was some things that were obviously broken and not unlike the problems most places had with the shows, but some things were obviously just neglectful. Like using green tape to hold the keyboard sign in place, Mitzi's robotics showing etc. The show disgusted me back then, and what they've done to it today is beyond excusable. If the bots are that destroyed and scary they need to just take them out. I can't see the destroyed robots helping their business at all.

Actually I just checked my vhs archive and I have a video of that show back when it was on stage (I thought I did). If I get a chance I'll encode some of it and put it in the Video Archive here on the site if anyone wants to see it. :bb_happy2:

The one pic with his eye slots moved to show the eyeballs is so beyond scary for me. I like X'ed out the pic right when it popped up cause it is so possesed. Someone really has to give some answers. I emailed Fun station and no reply.

The Animatronics Havent been working for ages. I had my 8th B-day there and nobody moved, the show selector was busted ( buttons smashed and cracked ), garbage in looneys can and i have always remebered that choo choo had been ripped out of his hole and tossed to the side.

I did mention about me speaking to the owner, but that was not the full story. He had said that he tore down the show because it was getting run-down and the company that made them "went out of business". Yeaaaaaaaaaah. Let's go with that. I told him that in fact they're still in business(a rather small business now). After I told him that, he said these exact words, which showed he didn't pay any attention to me. "Yeah. They went out of business, so I couldn't fix them up.":sick::rolleyes: I then asked him about the other stuff, such as the other characters, the props, and the other stuff. So, for your viewing pleasure/displeasure, here is my entire conversation with the owner of Fun Station USA.

ME: Excuse me?
OWNER: Yes?
ME: How much are you selling for Billy Bob? The animatronic bear over there?
OWNER: I'm actually selling him for $14,000. Maybe you can get your mommy to pay it for you.
ME: $14,000?
OWNER: 14,000
ME: Ummm, why did you tear down the show?
OWNER: Because we couldn't repair the show, and the company that made them had went out of business, so we tore down the show because it was too run-down.
ME: Actually, the company that made them, Creative Engineering, is still in business, but with only one employee now.
OWNER: Yeah. They went out of business, so I couldn't fix them up.
ME: Only the owner works there now. But it still is a business. They actually still make and sell shows.

Yeah right. This really showed that the owner was cheap, ignorant, and pretty much didn't care about the characters. He wanted $14,000 for a run-down Billy. He never listened to me when I repeatedly said that Creative is still in business, and never looked into repairing the show(Example: THE INTERNET).

It really shows that the owner no longer cares about these characters, except when it comes to selling them off.

I did mention about me speaking to the owner, but that was not the full story. He had said that he tore down the show because it was getting run-down and the company that made them "went out of business". Yeaaaaaaaaaah. Let's go with that. I told him that in fact they're still in business(a rather small business now). After I told him that, he said these exact words, which showed he didn't pay any attention to me. "Yeah. They went out of business, so I couldn't fix them up.":sick::rolleyes: I then asked him about the other stuff, such as the other characters, the props, and the other stuff. So, for your viewing pleasure/displeasure, here is my entire conversation with the owner of Fun Station USA.

ME: Excuse me?
OWNER: Yes?
ME: How much are you selling for Billy Bob? The animatronic bear over there?
OWNER: I'm actually selling him for $14,000. Maybe you can get your mommy to pay it for you.
ME: $14,000?
OWNER: 14,000
ME: Ummm, why did you tear down the show?
OWNER: Because we couldn't repair the show, and the company that made them had went out of business, so we tore down the show because it was too run-down.
ME: Actually, the company that made them, Creative Engineering, is still in business, but with only one employee now.
OWNER: Yeah. They went out of business, so I couldn't fix them up.
ME: Only the owner works there now. But it still is a business. They actually still make and sell shows.

Yeah Brian's right with what he said - these places obviously don't care, or at least care enough to put forth the money into keeping up a show that may or may not bring additional cash flow. These shows are known to run for over 25 years with proper maintaince, or fall apart in about 2 years when they're not cared for. And as for the soured relationship with CEI (which is what is going on) that probably has to do with money also. I believe it was Fun Station that Aaron said hasn't paid the lease on the Show Selector in years, so he's probably not been keen on offering them parts (or affordable parts). I dunno, I don't personally know that much about it other than there's just some stuff the manager/owner isn't talking about.

And I know for a fact that the other show parts and other characters weren't thrown away - they were sold to someone in a bulk lot and from there have been pieced out within the fan community. ;)

Anyway I do like to see everyone's enthusiam about wanting to shut the place down and bring justice to the Rock-afire. I used to think the same way. But being in this hobby for almost a decade has jaded that spirit some. I've watched half a dozen stores go down the crapper in the same fashion when it comes to their Rock-afire shows. This is just something that happens.

My honest belief is that all we can do is preserve the memory of the Rock-afire, and that is why this website is still running. The idea that there's going to be a comeback or the RAE will live on in a new chain of stores is just not going to happen. I really think that in 10 years the only shows that will exist will be in the homes of fans - those who care enough to keep theirs maintained and running as a museum piece.

Anywho on the preservation note - here's those videos I promised. They're from Feb of 2000 even though it seems like they were just sent to me not that long ago (which I guess is 8 years). I forget that most of you have never seen these. Once I get this site further along with the updating, I'll dig through my VHS archive and start encoding more homevideos.

1)Ok so I have a confession to make. When i was about 8 or 9 i went to Fun Station USA with a friend. Back then you walked through the resturaunt infront of funstation. So it was night ( bout 7 or 8 ) and I was curious about the robots. So as my friend and my dad were walking past the entrance to the show room i ran into without notice and Looked at them. They had a little round area cut into the outside of the stage where a little TV was ( *Note: Note the big TV on the rolfe stage it was a little one when kids could watch vids or other RAE's ) and it was very close to the rolfe and earl animatronics. So i walk onto that and since being the little troble maker i was i pulled off a peice of rolfes left foot and ran away. -- And thats my cofession.

2) I ripped off choochoo's fur at my 8th b-day party at FS USA because the robots werent playing and i got impatient.

People please dont be like " You should DIE! " to me i was only a kid.

What became of the Rock-afire Animatronics and props? I recently went to Fun Station and was very sad to see a blank blue wall where the show used to be. I really would like to know if you have thrown out all the props and gadgets used in the show. Because if you did its a shame. Those are a lot of people's ( including mine ) memories.

I went there last summer. Billy Bob was missing his tooth, 2 strings from his gutar, a foot, and one of his hands was about to fall off. Fatz had all his cosmedics but one of his hands was about to fall off. Dook was missing his gloves, boots, hat, cone, drum sticks, tree bark. I couldn't see beach bear because of the ride was in th e way.
