Which do you think is better, the originals or the covers?

I like both the original recordings and the covers, because they both are cool. I personally like the RAE versions, because it breathes new life into the classics from the 50s, 60s 70s and 80s music. I have an expansive collection of both the original recordings and the RAE versions on CD and MP3 format.

I do enjoy listening to the covers sometimes, but really... I don't think anything could beat the originals. :] I'm a purist that way. It actually upsets me when people re-make old songs I really like and play them non-stop on the radio. D:

I really really like RAE's beatles version... But then again I'm biased because I grew up listening to the RAE first. Too young to have experienced the beatles first hand. And in fact didnt even realize those weren't the RAE's songs until I got older :-P

Personally, I think that the covers are better because is goes to show that the creators/players wanted audiences to hear songs that they were already familiar with. Also, a handful of my favorites have been performed by this illustrious band of characters. I find it amusing when another group takes on its own rendition of another's song and make it even more interesting. When my parents took me to SPP when I was little, I barely remember recognizing some of the songs that the RAE performed in the dining room. I grew to like a lot of them and today the fascination is bigger than ever.
