Those are some very interesting ideas for RAE showtapes. I think that your ideas are very interesting. The first one is perhaps the best in my opinion.

I have been trying to come up with some suggestions for future showtapes also. One of my ideas is to have the group perform a show that consists entirely of rock songs that are hard n' heavy and have lots of punch and power. I also think that a Led Zeppelin tribute would be a fun idea as well. For me it has been a little difficult trying to create the set list for the first idea that I have described here. I know that I want it to include the Tom Petty track "Jammin' Me". Dook Larue would sing lead on it and the others will sure enough sing in the background. I think that this idea could really work out in the end.

I have now made the set list for the RAE showtape that I have been considering. This show consists of numbers that have lots of power to them. I think it would be neat for the group to devote an entire program to songs that kick really hard. The vocalist for each song will be listed below as well as the artist that is being covered.

LET'S GET ROCKIN' showtape:
1. Billy Bob-Footstompin' Music (Grand Funk Railroad)
2. Beach Bear-There's Only One Way to Rock (Sammy Hagar)
3. Fatz-Breaking the Law (Judas Priest)
4. Mitzi-Do You Wanna Touch Me? [Oh Yeah!] (Joan Jett)
5. Dook and Mitzi-Obsession (Animotion)
6. Rolfe and Earl-The Boys are Back in Town (Thin Lizzy)
7. Beach Bear, Mitzi and Fatz-The Look (Roxette)
8. Dook-Jammin' Me (Tom Petty)
9. Fatz and Billy Bob-Rock and Roll All Night (Kiss)

This is a showtape idea that would surely bring the house down! Rock fans accross the country would probably flip over this suggestion. Since I love the world of classic rock, it's no surprise that I would dream this up and share it with everyone. Let's rock this place!

How about an all out 80's show tape, since Showbiz Pizza and The Rock-afire Explosion came out in the 1980's.

1980's Showtape:

Fatz and the rest of the band from the middle stage introduce the show and talk about the 80's for a few minutes and what they all liked about it. Then the songs begin.

1.) Fatz and Mitzi- Private Idaho (B52's)
*Rolfe's curtains open*
2.) Rolfe- Der Kommissar (After The Fire)
*Rolfe's curtains close*
3.) Beach Bear- Private Eyes (Hall And Oats)
4.) Dook- Heart And Soul (Huey Lewis)
*Billy Bob's curtains open*
5.) Billy Bob and Mitzi- Take It On The Run (REO Speedwagon)
*Billy Bob's curtains close*
6.) Mitzi- Rapture (Blondie)

*Break*

Rolfe and Earl come out and talk about the 80's for a minute or two. Earl jokes at Rolfe and says he's still a geek like he was back in the 80's.

7.) Rolfe and Earl- Fantasy (Aldo Nova)
*Rolfe's curtains close*
*Middle stage curtains open*
8.) Beach Bear and Fatz- Everything She Wants (Wham)
9.) Mitzi- Goodbye To You (Scandel)
10.) Fatz- Caribbean Queen (Billy Ocean)
11.) Beach Bear- Hot In The City (Billy Idol)
12.) Dook- Waiting For A Girl Like You (Foreigner)

*Break*

Billy Bob and Looney Bird discuss what they liked from the 1980's for a few minutes

13.) Billy Bob and Looney Bird- Don't You Want Me (Human League)
*Billy Bob's curtians close*
*Middle stage curtains open*
14.) Fatz- No Reply At All (Phill Collins and Genesis)
15.) Mitzi- What About Love (Heart)
16.) Dook- Caught Up in You (.38 Special)
17.) Beach Bear- Broken Wings (Mr. Mister)
*Rolfe's and Billy Bob's curtains open*
18.) Everyone- Hungry Heart (Bruce Springsteen)

*End Of Show*

Rhyoyarbie, your suggestion is totally awesome! I really like many of the songs that you have selected for this future showtape idea. It makes perfect sense almost when we think about the fact that SPP and the RAE came out in the decade of excess. This showtape theme is a very neat one just like mine. I am so glad to see that a fellow member also likes some of what appeals to me when entertainment is concerned.

By the way, what did you think of the one that I have dreamt up? I, as stated elsewhere here, am a huge fan of classic rock/pop music. Every time I hear the nine songs that I have selected for my showtape idea I can easily visualize the RAE performing the cuts in one of those distinct dining room areas. I wonder if anyone else likes the idea of the group showcasing a program that is dedicated entirely to songs that have a hard-driving rock beat. Do you know any of the numbers that I have selected? Sometimes, as the years go by, songs are forgotten about.

Here are some other names that could be given to my future showtape idea:

Rock Hard All Day
Explosive Power
Alive and Charged
High Voltage Music
Rock Your Heart Out

Which name would be best for my showtape suggestion?

Sounds like a great showtape. I love the Obsession song, as well as the Joan Jett song and the song by Roxette.

I think the Kiss song would be a great finale for the entire three stages to sing to.

Ryhoyarbie, I am pleased to hear that you like my suggestion for a future RAE showtape!

I kind of figured that you'd know some of the tracks that I have selected for the idea. All of them are big favorites with me and I can, once more, easily picture the group rockin' out to all nine barn-burning gems.

The Kiss song ("Rock and Roll All Night") would indeed be an excellent closing number for the set list. I guess I should tell you that my idea is to have Fatz and Billy Bob take turns singing lead on the verses while we have all the members on the three stages join in for the choruses. As we have seen in varoius Kiss concerts, all of the performers sing on the chorus when they play this awesome, enjoyable number.

Once again, I think that your idea is also really neat!

Lately I've been trying to imagine the RAE presenting a program show that pays tribute to the bands that helped shape the subgenre of glitter and punk rock music. This is an idea that most rock fans would probably like to see and hear. I wonder if this was ever considered by the people at CEI? My guess is that it wasn't. Nevertheless, this is an idea that is hard to resist sharing with everybody. The show would feature songs by Ramones, Talking Heads, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, New York Dolls, Slade, and Kiss. I can easily picture Mitzi singing the Blondie song "Rip Her to Shreds". Beach Bear would sing the lead on "Bang a Gong (Get It On)" by T. Rex.:smokin:
