I have videos of both. I will eventually digitize some and get them online for all to view. I have a ton of stuff going on with work and all so it may be a while, but I'll post the second I get something online.

Is Magic City gone? What was it? Chimpy's is gone now in both Libertyville, and Niles. The problem I had with that place was the fact that I always had to ask for them to turn the show on, and I had to keep on bugging them for it. They would turn it on, and than it's birthday time, so they would shut it off. I extremely loved Chimpy's though, and now they are both gone.

I loved the Rock-aFire Explosion there, and it's sad it's gone now. I know it wasn't perfect as in having the sets in back of Billy Bob, and Ralph/Earl, but it didn't matter to me.

Well I know this post is a bit old, but I thought Id post some Chimpy's Pizza, Vernon Hills pics to keep the memory alive! These are just some of the pictures I have. Ill post a few more soon. Some of these pictures are edited cuz unfortunately the Rock-afire are just in the background and this was a camp event I put together for my group. There are also some merchandize pictures as well. Also I don’t know if it has been answered already, haven’t really done a lot of searching to check, but I was wondering who bought the Chimpy's Rock-afire, is it running, and has the new owner made any improvements to it? :-/
If anyone has any good Chimpy memories feel free to share!

Wow... These pictures bring back some great memories! I only wish I would have taken some pictures of my own. I was gonna take some pictures and videos, but I was a week to late! When I got in the parking lot the sign was gone and I was horrified! :-O This was the Rock-afire I grew up with. Even if they were around now I don’t think they would be as decrepit as some of the rock-afire shows that are dieing out now. I believe they were actually maintained some. Definitely miss that place!!! :)

Why IS Fatz naked? And why do Dook & Mitzi have different outfits then normally?

Couldn’t explain why Fatz is naked. I don’t ever remember him being dressed... trying something new for the ladies...lol! As for Mitzi and Dook, their dressed as part of the jungle/safari theme. Personally in some cases, I like it better then the original costuming, with the exclusion of Fatz... good buddy, put some cloths on!


Now that I think about it I think they purposely didnt dress him and put abs on him for more of a jungle/earthy look...lol

Fatz was given the "Bubba" look for this installation to make him fit the restaurant's theme. Fatz characters with the gold jacket do not have body fur under the coat.

That’s what I thought... Fatz ran well accept he was always missing one of his thumbs.

This places setup looks almost EXACTLY like the Talahassee CEC down here! (It used to be a Showbiz)

Just out of curiosity, did anybody get a hold of the Chimpy's Party Room or menu sign before they put up the dividing wall for Tuesday Morning, or any other signage for that matter? :-/

I used to be asking myself why exactly did Chimpys' remove Fats jacket and have him refurbished the way they did...it had occurred to me about the whole mascot thing, except Fatz isn't a chimp!

It's awful, much as I want to see the RAE, even if they still had this one running I don't think I'd want to see it in person just because of the Fatz thing. I know it's kind of lame of me, but he just isn't RIGHT without his jacket!

Yeah, seeing Fatz with his 'Bubba Style' Abs. :))
I will say one thing though, Fatz doesn’t look as professional, like you can take him seriously, with not having cloths on. The Abs just can do it alone! =))

I went to the other version of the show when it was at Showbiz, but I guess I forgot about what the characters were wearing back, and than just thought that how they always dressed at Chimpy's. That does make a lot of sense with the Jungle theme, and Fatz though. I never thought about that, but at the time though I never thought anything wrong about that. In fact, I guess I still like him better without the jacket.
