Well folks, I have just returned from my VIP - "Invitation Only" Sneak Preview of the fun and activities for this years Cheesevention. And all I can say is WOW!

Dallas is a gorgeous big city by day, but comes to lite at nite. This has to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world! I was prepared for the traffic situation, which at times can be hectic, but for those of you staying close to the CV3 site, you will have no worries at all. I was able to visit 3 store locations, which I just happened upon, while traversing the expressways in the Metroplex. These are some of the cleanest and well polished operations I have ever seen!

The travel from Dallas Forth Worth Airport (DFW) was smooth and easy, just be prepares to pay a toll to cross the street! Exiting through the south end of the airport and heading east. I was pleasantly surprised to see the CECE complex right on airport road. For those of you with a vehicle, you must stop and take a photo on yourself standing next to the corporate sign.

Within 20 minutes I was at the location of the "Big Event" and met with our very own CV host, Captslappy! I was able to get a one-on-one interview with Mike, and I want to share a few hints to the secrets our attendees will witness.

Among them, 2 rare video tape shows of "the Future of CEC". Each has a different concept version of the 2 stage MMBB show. This is a MUST SEE, I must say!

RAE fans will be overjoyed to see their favorite band performing live in an air conditioned showroom, located at the CV site. The show is in great shape, and has been getting plenty of TLC from Mike and his crew in preparation for CV3.

For fans of the Classic PTT era, boy are you in store for a big treat. The one, the only... Miss Dolli Dimples will be performing in the lounge during this great event!

And if that was not enough, the entire PTT band and special guest Harmony Howelette have been practicing and are scheduled to be performing in the main stage showroom.
The warbelettes will be there and Jasper will be playing his banjo.

Pasqualli has put away his drums, and Harmony has dusted off her microphone.

Dallas offers plenty of extracurricular activities including the world famous Tarantula Train, Fair Park, Dallas Zoo, and the very first Six Flags Theme Park - "Six Flags Over Texas". Plan to spend a few extra days to take in the atmosphere that will surround CV3!

Attendees should be prepared for the weather, and it will be HOT. But a little sweat is worth it so be one of the enlightened few who will be attending this years historic CV3. Dallas has 2 airports, Love Field and DFW. There are plenty of places to dine and stay throughout the area.

For those of you who enjoy shopping, remember the department stores such as Dillards, Levines, Neiman Marcus, and the outlet stores at Grapevine Mills! There are plenty of other things to do, and ways to spend your time and enjoy the heart of the Lone Star State.

Damn, my old Beach Bear looks weird there...what happened to him Mike!? :( Yes definitely HOT! When me Jenn, Danny and Dani went to Mike's house 2 years ago Mike didn't have all those characters just the Rock-afire stuff and the King.

Awesome write up Menutia...and nice pix! Some of them i recognize.....

Yes, The Captain has been working his butt off since the beginning of this year to get these shows up and running in time for July! He has done a incredible job getting all of this stuff togther and operating...a monumental task any way you look at it. I'd like to thanks everyone who has helped Mike out with this task.

CV3 is gonna ROCK so make sure you are there!!!! Where else can you witness a working RAE show AND a FULL PTT Balcony show ( WITH the rare Clapper Board?)????? No where man....no where but CV3---"It's the Place to BE"!!

Hey Mike S. a thought occured to me after veiwing those pics , what w/ the layout of your garage and the Balcony show up against the garage door, any thought on how we'll get Gabe and his chair into the garage?

captslappy

I already thought of that before I ever started. The boxes are not permanent and can be moved so that won't be a problem. We'll probably have to move to characters and then we can slide them back into place. Eventually I may do a balcony or porch set up to hide the boxes. That's when things may become a problem but I don't think I will be that far by the time the convention hits. I am just worried about getting them running by then.

ooh a porch stage w/ Harmony THAT would be a neat twist onto that setup, if you DO go by that route, when painting it my suggestion would be go by one of Trey's pics, NOT by the pic of my model I screwed up on the colors when my dad & I painted it.

I remember mentioning it last year but we never got around to playing it with all that we had going on at CV2. Great suggestion for CV3!

oh boy everyone pack a flashlight w/ all this fun we're about to have we may very well pop a few circuit breakers:lol :rollin

Shiney Happy Jenn
06-04-2006, 05:09 PM
Hey great idea Danny...

Either that, or we can use the flashlights as "spotlights" while the shows are running!

Ha ha...talk about getting as authentic as we possibly can.....!!

captslappy
06-04-2006, 11:30 PM
I have never had any problems with breakers as the garage was specially wired to handle all of this but the flashlight spot idea will work. Everyone will get a job... here are our assignments so far...

SHJ: Fatz spot/Chuck E.
Travis: Mitzi/Harmony
Sandy: Dook/Munch
Mike: Beach Bear/Pasqually
Danny E: Billy Bob/Jasper
Gabe: Looney Bird/Warblettes
Matt Hat: Rolfe/Clapper board
Nevin: Earl/light dimmer (turning the lights off in the show room)

I am going to get a blue filter and be the blue lights.
We still need amber, green and red for the rest of you that are coming...

The travel from Dallas Forth Worth Airport (DFW) was smooth and easy, just be prepares to pay a toll to cross the street!

are you serious?

menutia
06-14-2006, 02:13 PM
Yup! Just to drive through the airport is about $2. I thought Chicago tolls were insane...

~M

captslappy

If you use the by-pass service road you don't have to pay. The $2 is to discourage people from cutting through there. That just causes congestion and extra traffic. There is a well marked service road that by passes the airport and takes you along the outskirts but does not offer access to the terminals and it is free. Actually, while we do have a good toll road system there is not anywhere in Dallas that you go that requires use of these roads. In fact, we have access roads everywhere that parralle all the toll roads that are 100% free. The tollway system is really nice if you are in a hurry and wish to by-pass the traffic and red lights. I rarely use them but I know they are great for regular commuters going to and from work.
