Hi Gang, its time to think about Cheesevention 3 planning. It has been brought to my attn that some of you would like to see CV3 in a new location. This is a good idea, however if this happens I personally will have to bow out as I do not have the funds to travel....hower Jenn said she MIGHT be interested in a new location such as Texas or Florida. I have told her to carry on the proud name of Cheesevention. However(2), if the faithfull CV attendees would like to come back here to Massachusetts, Jenn, myself, and Cheryl will plan something new and interesting for those that wish to come back.
So .... having the choices Texas, Florida, or Massachusetts, where would you be willing to travel to? Remembering that MA is the only place(right now) I will be able to get to.
We are going to plan a meeting in the next week or so, Lets hear from you!

Wow great to hear you guys are considering a change of location. I have so wanted to attend a CV but with it being a nearly 26 hour drive:eek away there has just not been a way. With a move to either Florida or Texas (depending on location in that state) my drive could be as little as 6 hours! Now that is definitely dooable! :) It wouldn't be the same without BOTH J and JENN... but with J's blessing I think that a "Road - Trip" would give a chance for a whole new crowd to experience a CV!
Might even be the Final kick in the pants I need to get my show installed for an audience! Especially after 3 years of work, I'm ready to show it off to some fans!:hat

LOL if it's still around for 30...oh wait that's next year...should still be in business. Texas is a more central location, I think the idea is to bring it to a new crowd or have more people attend. It's like people wanna have it way on the east cost or way on the west coast. :rolleyes It would draw alot more people if it was in Texas just because for alot of fans it's only hours away.

Hey,
I put my vote in for Texas. Dallas would make a lot of sense, history wise... If we could get this thing not quite sponsored, but at least ok'ed by Corporate maybe we could get a group tour or the use of a store or something.
Also, If it does end up somewhere I can get to, we should have a character voice karaoke contest. Any takers?

Hi Guys!
I'm glad J finally started our yearly thread about CheeseVention! It's right on time too...late January is when we usually start seriously thinking about putting togther the next event.
For the past year and a half or so i have been suggesting moving the event to a new location. Many of you who talk to me regularly on AIM, chats, and e-mails know this is something we have been kicking around for some time now...exspecially after this past years' CV2. In all honestly, i think we pulled out everything we had to showcase last year and there really is'nt anything we can do to top it at this point in MA.
For more then a year, i have been in talks with certain people in certain locations regarding a new locations and if they would like to co-host the Event. I have some great leads and ideas so far, and it looks as though we may have struck a perfect spot. More on that once i have final confirmation. This has been something i have been working towards since the day the first CV ended. So take heed folks, your requests regarding a location change has not fallen on deaf ears!
Yes, a while back i though it would be very cool to hold a CV in San Hose CA to coinciede with the upcoming 30th Anniversary of PTT/CEC. This is all just hypothetical mind you...NOTHING OFFICIAL! The CA talk is a idea that has been around for some time...i always thought it would be the perfect pilgrimige. We have local connections which always helps...
Getting back to CV Three....yep, we have a official title and slogan!:
CheeseVention Three: "It's the Place to Be!"
We even have a official theme song!
"It's the Place to Be ( CV Three )"
Now everyone is probably next wondering WHEN this years event will be. That has not yet been finalized, but will be very soon. More then likely, in the Summer, before August this time around. Again, nothing official.
So there it is folks......you heard it here!
We all have some awesome ideas and surprises already in the works....we have a lot to live up to this time around as our goal is to beat last years' mega-event!
Oh and speaking of that.....the Cv2 Event dvd is still in the process of being re-dubbed with the improved audio commentary. We will hopefully see it's release soon now that Cv Three talk has begun. The other dvd's related to this Event can be found in the ShowbizPizza.Com Fan Club Store! Look for "CheeseVention" and the follow up "Cv2: Behind the Cheese".
All donations raised from the sale of these discs go directly into the CV Fund to help cover the costs involved in holding these awesome events. Everything from food costs, to supplies, to merchandise costs and prizes...every penny is put to good use! Support this years CV by adding these gems to your collection!
I'll post more news once i have it.....there is much talk going on as we speak so please feel free to post your thoughts and feedback here! Remember, CheeseVention is put on for YOU the fans! You have a say in it! :D

The only thing I have to emphasize is that the whole point of CV is to bring fans together (physically) which has been a blast for me. However everyone wants to have this in their hometown for obvious reasons, but that's just impossible. So I do hope that when the location for CV3 is decided on, that you'll consider traveling if it's not too far from you. :)
That being said, Jenn and I have discussed this back and forth since before CV2 so we've weighed out many of the pros/cons involved with moving the event so I think we're in pretty good shape so far. Plenty of good choices and many options for 2006 and beyond. There are many 'hubs' of fans and to me, Texas, Cali, and Florida have the most to offer as far as number of fans, attractions, and feasibility.
Jenn seems to have locked down a great location/idea for 2006 but I'll wait for her to get more details of that one locked down and let her announce it, but she definetely has my blessing. ;)
We'll have to remember (for those who have come to CV1 and 2) that this new event will take a different form. That's just a matter of not having the control and setup situation that we had in MA. Should make for a more interesting and different type of event this time around.

Since Texas is a little closer to AZ.:lol
This would sound like fun, Texas would be a cool place to hold off if we could somehow seek into Dept 18 Studios:eek
Or in Florida, we might be able to sneek into CEI, or something, idk!
A lot of people vote Texas, im in for Texas too!

Let me say that CA is out for this year....i would only consider it for the 30th Anniversary as stated in my previous post. Why bother going there now when the real action is next year? Ha ha!
Anyway....i had to comment on Vega's comments above as he mentioned something important to consider. CV Three will indeed be a very different event structure-wise when compared to the previous two years. Those who have seen footage of the last two events ( and the footage you will see on the forthcoming CV2 Event dvd...) give you some idea of what we have done in the past. Trivia contest, Live Shows galore with many characters, and huge displays. This time around we will be relying heavily on local fans to supply the "entertainment" and display items at CV simply because J and I cannot contribute much since there is traveling involved. We will certainly have some stunning attractions though if things work out....from what i'm hearing this location will be a winner!
I will officially annouce the location soon....i am awaiting further feedback from my sources and from our co-hosts.

There is more to CECE then Dept 18, and last i heard the Company did offer a group tour. There are many departments that could be viewed that would hold interest to fans...a excellent example is the Merch Room where all the prototypes and test products are.
Besides Gabe....even though folks have changed at #18, YOU have "connections". ;)

Latest update now: We are VERY close to annoucing the DATES of CV3 as well as the PLACE!! Woo hoo! I am very excited as i think everyone will be happy with this new location for 2006!
I also wanted to mention that the local fans up here in the Northeast need not feel depressed or left out. There is talk afoot between J and myself of a SECOND Event that will take place after CV3! Anyone who is not able to come to the "official" Event can have a shot at coming at a fun little "un-official" local get-togther. Just wanted to shoot that out there to you guys reading.....this way everyone can get excited about partaking in a CV this year in at least one form!
J and i are going to be getting togther for our annual CV brainstorming session at CEC's some night soon. We both have some neat ideas and want to talk about how to best utilize them to deliver a even bigger "wow". More news coming soon!
Keep your eyes peeled....official CV3 dates and place annoucement coming soon!

Big news folks...
Our own CEC3066 has found a hotel that is literally right next door to CECE in Irving!
Check out this link:
www.hotel-rates.com/us/texas/irving/clarion-dfw-airport-south.html (http://www.hotel-rates.com/us/texas/irving/clarion-dfw-airport-south.html)
As most fans know...Home Office is located at 4441 W Airport Fwy. This hotel, the Clarion, is located at 4440!
Have a look...and then let's hear some feedback.

Nice find Danny....
The current rate ( as of 2/10) is only $66 total for a nights stay in a room with two beds! Awesome!
Don't forget, you can cut that in HALF and only pay $33 per night if you buddy up with a pal and room togther!
This is one sweet deal...now let's just hope this is'nt some dive! I doubt it judging by the area it's in ( i've been around there..) and take a look at all the nice aneminies.
This may well be the place we have been looking for.

Nothing official....just something that could possibly be done.
I am told it would not be too difficult to set up, as long as the group size is not too large.
A Official Tour would probably not be confirmed until it gets closer to the actual date. I don't know how far in advance we would need to "book" such a thing.
YoungCaliHottie
02-12-2006, 01:39 PM
how many people attended cv 1 and 2?
if cece says theres too many people for a tour, u can split it up into 2 tours. one group can go at the beginning, and one group can go at the end of cv3.
pizzacam
02-12-2006, 01:47 PM
The problem with THAT is...The day's are like 21, 22, 23 right, well Friday the 21 is the only day CECE will be open during CV3 so..2 tours in one day? Doubt it, as they may DO it but then one half has to wait for the other half before then next thing? Whether it's going to Mike's or going to a CEC i'm sure the group kinda wants to stay together right...well maybe that's just the way Dani felt :rolleyes Jenn? wanna give me a ring today? I can talk to Micheal about the tour if you want...
Shiney Happy Jenn
02-12-2006, 03:07 PM
Hi Gabe....
Yes, please ask Michael about the Tour. Any info about this would be good. I am convinced that once Dept 18 learns of our interest, they would be interested in having us come by. They were pretty excited when they learned of the original CV that year we visited in 04' and i remember Ryan personally inviting us back should we ever be back in the area. I know things have changed there since we last visited, but i'm sure they would be open for a group of enthusiests visiting for a day.
Yes, Friday afternoon would be the time to do this. CV3 starts on that Friday and most of the major actitivites will happen that day. Around 2ish would be perfect.
Regarding the size of the group...i would think it would'nt be larger then 20 people. the original CV drew about 12 and CV2 drew about 18 if a remember correctly. I don't know what the Tour requirements are officially, but i can't see them letting a group of 35+ in the door to roam around. I don't expect this years event to draw more then CV2 really, considering most that attended last time cannot make the trip to TX. However, we will be attracting new folks so who knows?
I would not want to break up the group and slip it apart to do two tours. I seriously doubt CECE would do 2 tours in a day, even for the same organization. It would be best to keep everyone together as all the best of times came out of this in the past Events.
Let me know what Micheal has to say....
I will likely contact CECE myself at some point to make them aware of what we would like to do. I think it would be cool in a way if they were aware of what we are doing. Hopefully that won't backfire!

In addition to going to CECE hopefully and checking out the Irving Tx store (it has the cyberamic 1 stage and ideas are often test marketed here that are not seen in other locations) another thing fans will really have a chance to look forward to is watching my personal Rock-afire Explosion, my Pizza Time Theater Balcony show with Harmony Howlette and a working and fully restored Dolli Dimples robot. All of these robots are in my home as part of my personal collection. This is a great chance for those of you that grew up with this stuff and haven't seen it in years or for those of you too young to have had a chance to see it.

02-16-2006, 05:44 PM
Yes, it's true. For those who may have missed the news, The planned CECE Tour has fallen through so there will be no visit this time around gang.
I know quite a few were looking forward to this possibly happening, but it looks for certain that it is a no-go. This comes from Rob himself, so i don't see it happening at this point. When i first suggested 2 years ago that CV should happen in TX it was not for the attraction of CECE anyway...it was to get everyone together who loves this concept and take them to a place where they could view The Captain's fantastic collection and Shows!
That's the honest truth....it's not about CECE. We are going to have one heck of a time regardless. Now if we can just avoid a ambush of some sorts at the places we plan to visit ( lol!) i think everyone will be happy!
Shiney Happy Jenn
02-16-2006, 05:56 PM
Well now that thats done with, and out the window......lets move on!
We have a pretty good idea of how things will play out on CV Friday. The question on the CV Staff's mind though is what we should do on Saturday, the traditional 'fun trip" day. In previous years we have done a "CEC Crawl" ( visit as many local stores as possible) and visited a local amusement park. As noted already earlier in this thread, a "Crawl" would probably be a bit dull as i'm told most stores in the DFW area are all pretty much cookie-cutter locations that all have exactly the same stuff...and Stages! I suppose we could take in some fave locations...perhaps locations attendees are friendly with.
Sunday is another day we should start discussing....what should we do on these two days? Any suggestions or ideas?

Oh I can make up some custom pieces for us! Should match the others perfectly. :)
Also I wanted to throw this in the hat since there's discussion about what to do on the other days - there's 2 other RAE shows in the area, both privately owned. One of them has already said he's be happy to accomodate us for a visit, the other might be cool with it too.
Just a thought, there's not many RAE's left in working order anywhere, so it might be nice for people to see a few of them while they can.

Harmony
Madame Oink
Dolli Dimples
Artie Antlers
Crusty the Cat ( YES!!)
The King
BB Bubbles ( i have a actual graphic...i think Vega has it too..)
Foxxy
Sally
Now would'nt it be even funnier to have Showbiz characters too? Let's have Billy Bob and CEC fact off in a final match! Everyone can place "bets" as to who of the two wins!
RAE game peices could be--
Billy Bob
Dook
Beach Bear
Fatz
Mitzi ( to avoid the boys fighting over who gets her as a playing piece, we should probably draw straws to be fair....lol!)
Okay...that should be enough i think.

captslappy
02-19-2006, 11:19 AM
Even if corporate doesn't work out we'll have plenty of other things to do.
We can all play Sky Tubes. If Travis will make the pieces we should have more than enough characters for us to all play. The Rock-afire and PTP characters probably give us 30+ possibilities. It will just be interesting to play a board game with 15+ people all at once. I dohave 2 copies of it. One I was going to keep boxed but it isn't rare and just came out so if we need more stuff like cards we can use the other set. I don't know much about it since I have not opened it. I'll look into it and give you guys more details soon...
I also have quite a collection of videos and DVDs we can watch. I'm sure others will bring stuff too. Plus I'm sure there will be photo albums and stuff to look at.
We also will have to go to at least one CEC store or it won't be a Cheesevention. As I mentioned, most of the stores here are cookie cutter identical and most 'historic" ones have moved out of the old buildings. We are mostly Studio C here anyway. The one store that was a former PTT is at the other 3nd of 360 so that might be doable. They have a 2 stage unless they changed it recently. The Irving store with the 1 stage is really the one to see anyway. Should we decide that we really want to go to a store with a Studio C there are 2 we can check out that aren't far from my house. One is on the way from the motel (if you stay near corporate still) to my house and we'll drive by it. There arent any restaurant locations with the Rock-afire anymore unfortunately.
Of course I'm sure what most everyone will want to do is spend the majority of the time watching the shows which is fine. It will definately be a worthwhile weekend for all in attendance!
VegaNova
02-19-2006, 04:50 PM
Yeah, I'll be happy to make up some game pieces to really get a good game going. Should be easy since there's so much old artwork floating around out there. :)

I really am bumming out that I cant make it. It sounds like this will be a blast. After my next round of surgery Jenn and I are planning to get together and talk a little about texas, an d CV3 1/2 here in mass.
All I can hope for is that someone out there will film all this for me. Its still my baby and Im having a bit of trouble letting go I guess, but I know Jenn and the Capt. will pull it off great. I'll miss seeing Danny and his mom, and Nevin, but I'll be there in spirit!

Hi gang...
Sorry for the lack of news or updates...i've been away for the past few weeks but i'm back now.
No real news, all i can add for now is work has begun on the CV3 logo artwork which will be used for the Event and all related merch and promotional puposes. Should be cool...i have some ideas and Vega suggested a great addition to the logo this time around. Watch for it soon!
I see another thread has been started asking about the CV3 Hotel. I thought this was decided already...but maybe not? I remember us talking about it in one of these threads....but it's time we solidified this so people can book there spot. I myself will wait until a couple of months beforehand to book a spot...along with my other travel arrangements.
Other then that, no other news to post at the moment. The Captain has been busy getting everything ready for us all....and things are looking good so far.
Something we should also start seriously discussing and maybe settling is what everyone would like to do on that Saturday for the day and that Sunday. Saturday is traditionally the "fun day" where we go off somewhere as a group and go somewhere to visit...either a amusement park or other local attraction. Sunday is a short day as most folks will be travelling back home later in the day. Sunday has in the past been the "hang out" day where we just go where we please as a group and do whatever.
Anyone here have some ideas or suggestions? Any local TX fans know of any local attractions that may be worth a visit while everyone is in town?
At this point, it looks like the CECE Tour is off. This may..MAY change, but as of now it is not happening. Again, this MAY change but i want to state this now to avoid any confusion to anyone who might not have gotten the message earlier. I just don't want anyone to be missled into thinking that a visit to CECE is absolute and is actually happening. As stated, at this point it is NOT happening...but again, this COULD change as the date gets closer.
Okay....enough for now. Let's get going on deciding where we are all staying and where we would all like to go on Saturday.

Ok, as for what to do... here are a few things that are around the area...
I really think we should go to CEC. All our stores are all pretty much caught up on phase whatever so they are mostly cookie cutter identical. EVERYTHING is Studio C here except the Irving store which is a test location that is a 1 stage or Arlington which is a 2 stage. Arlington is a former PTT but there is no reminance of where King used to be. My friend who is not really up on PTT told me he thinks they may have also once had Dolli too. These in my opinon are the only 2 worth going to. I think it is a waste of time for us to tour all the CEC's the area.
Six Flags over Tx is very close to where you guys will all be staying. If you guys want to do an amusement park I recomend this. Also there is Hurricane Harbor next door which used to be Wet N' Wild. It's owned by Six Flags now too but they aren't connected and its not easy to go between the parks.
As for the business of the convention itself, I have a lot of videos we can watch that relate to CEC and Showbiz and I'm sure a lot of other people have videos too.
I also have an activity or 2 planned we can do.
The big highlight here is I own an RAE and have quite a few reels. I also have a soon-to-be working balcony stage in my house with Harmony Howlette. She's the only guest I have but it's a good chance to see what the show was like and for those that missed out on getting to see Harmony.
I also have a working Dolli D. So we can spend time watching those 3 shows. Also I know of 2 other fans that have shows in their homes and I think at least one of those are willing to let us come over and see theirs.

Awwww, man...... Im bumming out big time I cant make it! With my recent surgery, and lack of $$$ Cheryl and I just cant make it to Texas. A few days ago i saw a preview of the ALL NEW CV3 website that Travis is busy working on! It looks FABULOUS and will be full of info related to CV3. Once details are firmed up additonal info pages will be added, but it's initial launch is coming soon!

04-17-2006, 11:59 AM
Ok guys, that is a good question... if CV3 is out of the picture you all might consider staying closer to Carrollton if reservations have not been made. If not, no big deal because Irving and Arlington are both near CECE and those are the stores I'd like us to go to as the CEC stores near me are all studio Cs. Also, if we do something like go to an amusement park you will be closer to 6 flags. Let me talk to the powers that be a little more on our plan and find out.

Well since CECE is really on the fence and leaning toward the no side, we should stay closer to Mike remember Jenn it's only like a 15 minute drive. I am going! This is a good excuse to go visit my family and friends for the summer. So I will have a place to stay. And the Richardson CEC still has the 3 stage. That is the closest CEC to go than the Red Bird location. That is WAY on the other side of Dallas, in South Dallas. Most of you will be in Far North Dallas, so the Richardson loaction will be best to go see a 3 stage.
Can't wait to go to my 1st CV!
Later guys!
captslappy
04-20-2006, 04:00 PM
F---ing has the right number of syllables. Damn doesn't. I found out Redbird is still open but in terrible shape and scheduled to close in a few months so we do have one last 3 stage left as it turns out. I was under the impression this store was gone already but from what I heard the show is in horrible shape.
Shiney Happy Jenn
04-20-2006, 08:22 PM
Okay...so it looks like we should now be looking at hotels near The Captain then?
Captain...any suggestions?
I would definately like to make the trip out to Richardson to see the 3 stage. To date i have not seen a OPERATIONAL CEC 3-stage in action. When i was last at CECE, the one they had was down as it was being re-installed after the last Studio remodel.
Do you realize that CV3 is only little more then 2 months away now? TIme we got cracking!
The CV3 website is getting ready to launch. We need to decide on the hotel.
captslappy
04-20-2006, 09:17 PM
I dont know. I thought everyone vetoed that idea. Let's talk off the board about the officially itenarary here and then we can decide if it's better to be near Irving or Carrollton. Red bird is in horrible shape and its barely working from what I hear. It's slated to be closed in just a few months. It may not even be open by CV3.

Official announcment? 8o
Well, i think everything is pretty much already up on the CV3 website ( general info at least). but what else really needs to be said?
For those who don't know yet....CheeseVention 3 is a non-official Chuck E. Cheese/ Showbiz Pizza Place Fan Convention being held this year in Irving Tx on July 21/22/23. Yup..you read right...NEXT MONTH!!
The plan is to meet up Friday the 21st at the Irving CEC Location for Lunch. After a few hours there, we will depart and arrive at the actual Event site. Our own Captain Slappy will be co-hosting CV this year and he has some wonderful additons to add to the CV Legacy. On hand we will have collectibles galore on display as well as a Triva Contest with prizes, Video Showcase with many rare and interesting videos screened for your enjoyment, and the star attraction; operating Animatroincs!
We will have on hand a Rock-aFire Explosion animatronic show onhand performing many classic era shows. We will also have a full PTT era Balcony Show setup ( complete with Warblettes and Clapper Board!!) that will also perform some rare old shows! Harmony Howlette will be there, as will a fully restored and operating Dolli Dimples cira 1981 PTT. Many other delights will also be on display.
We will have plenty to keep folks entertained....and we also plan on having some snacks on hand as well for munching during shows and the video broadcasts. Radio Showbiz, SB.Com's own online radio station, will be broadcasting LIVE from CV3 on site! Even if you are'nt able to come, you can "be there" thanks to cyberspace technology! CV3 Merchadise will also be on hand for purchase ( t-shirts, SB.Com dvds..etc.) at the Event. Rare videos will be shown during the Video Showcase including the first ever broadcast of the long awaited CheeseVention 2 Event dvd. Yes, we will have the master tapes of this program for viewing...and all will get to see the incredible footage we captured on film from last years CV!
On Saturday the 22 the plan is to meet up again at the Irving CEC and head out to enjoy some local sights and attractions. This may include a Theme Park ( Six Flags has been discussed) as has a "CEC Crawl', which is basically visiting as many local area CEC Locations as one can ina span of time. It is usually a fun and interesting thing, but sadly TX locations tend to all be exactly the same ( all were recently remodel and are exact copies of each other) so such a 'Crawl' may be pointless. Nevertheless.....it will be a fun time had by all. Saturday night will no doubt see us gathering again somewhere locally to have a meal and hang out enjoying out common interests.
On Sunday the 23rd we will meet up for Breakfast. Many folks who traveled from afar will be leaving that afternoon to catch a plane back home....so no major activities are planned for this day. Just some good' ol goodbyes and quick info exchanges will be the conclusion of CV3.

And now the important stuff all "newbies" to Cheesevention should know....
Registration--- To attend CV you must send a e-mail stating how many in your party will be attending to this address: cheesevention@yahoo.com
CV has always been a FREE fan event and still is. We simply ask for attendees to e-mail us so we can get a accurate head count and thus be able to plan ahead for supplies and transport options. This is VERY important, so if you have not registered yet and you are definately coming to TX...REGISTER NOW!
Meals/Accomodations---It's a good idea for everyone attending to bring some pocket money for expenses such as meals, park tickets, merchandise, tokens, etc. Everyone is encouraged to bring whatever amoount of money they wish to enable you to support yourself while attending the weekends' events. Hotel accomodations should be booked by each attendee on there own as CV does not book for attendess as a "group". There is no "official" hotel this year so everyone is welcome to stay wherever they wish....however i would strongly recommend that fans' stay at one of the many hotels located on W Airport Fwy. I suggest this simply so we will be able to gather togther at the appointed times with ease and in a timly manner. There are numerous hotels on this strip of highway, and just about every major hotel chain has a location there. You can book directly off of your favorite hotels' website, or check out what's availble here at www.travelocity.com (http://www.travelocity.com). I will probably be staying at the Clarion, which is across the street from CEC Entertainment's Home Office and has resonable room rates.( $69 last time i looked).
Transportation-- As the weeks get closer we may be able to arrange pickups for those flying in to DFW. This will be up to fans locally who may be able to help those coming into town. My advice is to hook up with someone you know and see if you can grab a ride. If not, taxi's are readily availble at the airport and it's about $25 or so to ride from DFW to W Airport Fwy area hotels. During the duration of the event, we will more then likely be carpooling from place to place with gracious help from fellow fans with vehicles that are attending.
Collectibles/Videos-----We will have lots of neat stuff on display, and showcase some great video programs. We always say, "the more the merrier" so we encourage attendees to bring with them any rare or interesting CEC/Showbiz related itmes to add to the CV3 Display Table. We will have a couple set up, and you are more then welcome to bring what you wish to share or show off to other fans. Please be sure it's something that you can travel with as we don't want anyone to accidentally damage something that means a lot to them. Same goes for videos...feel free to bring some neat videos to share. I would avoid offical CEC Showtapes though as chances are most of those attending either own them or have seen them. Instead, bring your own home videos of show footage on site, rare promo footage ( ads, etc.) RAE videos...that sort of thing. The older the BETTER!!
Did i miss anything??
If so let it be known and i will respond to it here!
Hope this clears up any confusion...i was not aware that there was any! 8o

I just thought I would also point out to keep in mind that there are also different hotel shuttle vans that will take to you to your hotel and back when you are ready to depart. So if know what hotel you're staying at then just look for that particular van. They also have direct line phones setup to call your respective hotel to pick you from the DFW terminal. Then you won't have to pay for a taxi.:D

06-18-2006, 07:02 PM
Yep...about a month now folks.
Have you registered yet???? I only have 5 people officially registered at cheesevention@yahoo.com!
Surely more are coming then THIS?
Grand total so far including myself is
Vega and Sandie
Darling Menutia
Our Co-Host The Captain
Danny and his Mom
Nevin and his Gran
Gabe
and a few others registered.
Puppetmaster....are you "officially" coming to CV3?
Who else here is coming? Make yourself known! I have about 10/11 people that are known to be actually attending. If you are actually coming, you need to send a e-mail to "register" at cheesevention@yahoo.com. Just posting your name here is not enough as the e-mail account will be used as the finale official tally of guests coming. This is important as it will determine how much food we will be purchasing and how many prizes and other suppiles will be needed!
Please register today if you are coming to CV3!
Other news now....
I have recently learned that the idea to go to Six Flags on Cv Saturday has not been enthusiastically recieved by a majority of those who say they are attending. If this is so i need to know these things! If you guys would rather NOT do this then say so now. As it stands at the moment there is nothing planned for Saturday as we are finding it difficult to decide what to do. We would like to do something though...as it seems a waste not to with all of us together in the area that weekend.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions??
As it stands the only major "event" day will be Friday. While past CV's have shown that Friday tends to be the "big" day of the entire weekend, it's nice to get together the next day and do something fun and get to know each other better. Any suggestions would be great.
So far, these are the ideas that have been touched on in these threads:
Six Flags or another park visit for the day
A CEC "Crawl" ---aka, visiting as many CEC's as possible throughout the day
Visiting local places of interest
Just hanging out and watching videos, etc.
So what will be it be folks.....we have to make a desicion here so plans can be firmed up. Let your voice be heard!
CV is nothing without you, the FANS! :)

Will Helen be attending this CV3 Convention?:b :D I'd love to have a helen henny came piece. while i'd love to see the whole CEC walkaround gang together as a group. Any chance of us getting to see at least some of the tx video footage of where they shoot the sences for alot of these current cec show tapes/dvds? I'd love a photo of a person in the green cheerleader Helen Henny outfit. Be sure to have your green and yellow pom poms Helen Henny.;) :D Would anybody be willing to go on some rides with me if we would end up going to a theme park?

NEvin, you saw Helen last year and had that 'private" photo shoot with her man!!! :lol
Sorry to tell you this Nevin, but there will be NO characters appearences this year due to the fact that we do not have access to costumes like we do here in MA! If and when CV returns to MA in the far future you can be certain we will have the WHOLE gang as we do now have a "offficial" Pasqaully!
That being said, no Live Shows ( with characters at least..) are planned as we will be having actual WORKING ANIMATRONICS in action as the entertainment this year. My advice...bring your Helen doll Nevin if you absolutely NEED to have her there in person, as it's the closet i think you will get this time around.
Hey Nevin, did you get those photos from last year developed of you and Helen during your "private" photo shoot? Post some here if you are'nt too shy about people seeing them...!

More updates:
Here is the TENTITVIE CV3 Schedule of Events. Please note this is a generalized work in progress based on past event formulas and NOT set in stone. I will say however that this looks to be close to what will actually happen ....
----------------------------------------------------
CheeseVention 3 Schedule of Events ( tentitive)
Friday July 21st: Meet at Irving CEC Location on Airport Fwy. at Lunchtime ( exact time will be sent to REGISTERED attendees the week before the event!)
After an hour or so of enjoyment at the resturant, it's off to the main CV3 Event location: The Captains! ( Again, all EXACT address'/ directions/ times will be sent via e-mail to REGISTERED attendees ONLY. No public postings to prevent gate crashers or other "unpleasent" surprises so be sure to REGISTER please!)
Once at The Captains, the Event officially begins with opening introductions and a overview of the nights highlights and attractions availible.
Next up will be the Trivia Competition. All are welcome to compete, as we will have some fun prizes up for grabs! Brush up on your Showbiz/RAE and PTT/CEC trivia and you may be the grand prize winner!
After the Triva Competition it will be time for the main attracion: The Shows! First up will be a group of Classic Era shows performed by the Rock-aFire Explosion. This is a operational animatronic presentation, with all your fave characters! Bring your cameras folks....trust me on this.
After the RAE warms us up it will then be time to view the rare PTT Cyberamic show setup, a 1982 era Balcony Show recreation that actually works! Guest Star to be finalized, but Harmony Howlette WILL be in attendence regardless. See Rat Cheese, Munch, Jasper Hound, Pasqually, the Warblettes and even the mighty ( and super rare) Clapper Board in action!
After the thrilling Show Segments, it will be time to relax a little and unwind with some refreshments. As everyone has some time to socialize, take in the displays of merchandise on the various tables and stop by the Merch Booth to pick up some cool CV3 themed souveniers including t-shirts and dvd's from ShowbizPizza.com! Radio Showbiz will also be on hand broadcasting live from the Event, so take a moment to say hi to the Fan Community listening at home!
Now we will move into the Lounge and enjoy some fantastic video footage during our Video Showcase segment. Here attendees will get to view some incredible and unique videos from the past history of the concept(s). Everyone is welcome to bring something unusual and RAE/CEC related to share. Please do not bother bringing official Showtape footage ( unless pre-90') as most will have already seen this footage.
After an hour or so of gathering around the tube...we will continue with the Animatronic entertainment. Dolli Dimples will now perform for us and more RAE and PTT era shows will be played for your enjoyment.
After the shows wind up, things will be winding down at CV3 for the night. Some last minute purchases at the Merch Booth, a couple more handfulls of popcorn, and maybe another quick view of a photo album will finsih the night off and all will return to their hotel rooms.
Saturday July 22nd:
This day's plans are still not confirmed as there is still debate as to what to do exactly. Some suggestions are listed in the post preceeding this ( Six Flags, CEC Crawl, etc.) but what we DO plan on definately doing is visiting the Arlington CEC location. This location is the only store in the whole of TX that can be classed as a "historic" CEC. It is a Ex-PTT with a long and colorful history. It opened in the very early 80's like the best PTT's did and many fans may have the locations' tokens in their collection already. For ages this was the "Test Store" for CECE when they became based in TX. The Irving Store was not built until much much later.....so for ages Arlington was the Corporate Store as it were. As a Test Store, Arlington saw many of the things and concepts we came to associate with 90's CEC first...including the first ever "Rocker Stage" set up in 1986/7. It was also the first Store to see the costumed Chuck E. perform the first ever "Live Show" on May 9th, 1987. Later this success was duplicated and sent off to all stores and grew into the Standard Live experience we know today. So MUCH was tested here, particually in the mid to late 80's, it's no small wonder this Store has earned it's "historic" classification.
Arlington is also "famous" as being the store that our own "Mix" aka Matt Schartz began his career with CEC as a CM in the mid 90's. He later went on to work at CEC's Home Office in Irving as a Birthday Hotline employee and later the programmer/animator of the CEC Animatronic Shows. He also was responsible for having a hand in many of the better Shows released at that time, and became Production CoOrd before leaving for CA to work at DisneyLand.
So in short: a visit to TX without a visit to Arlington ( from a fan standpoint) would be a waste so we definately plan on hitting here to take it all in.
The rest of the day is really up to the people in attendence and what they feel like doing. Later that night we will likely go out to Dinner at a non-CEC resturant.
Sunday July 23rd:
This will be our final gathering before everyone heads home. We will meet up at a to be determined place for Breakfast and spend the last few moments of the weekend togther. A few quick goodbyes and address swapping and everyone is free to go their seperate ways. Most of us who flew in from other States will be leaving for home while other fans drive back to wherever they came from. By Lunchtime, all should be done and everyone on their way.
-----------------------------------------------------
So there it is folks.....check it over and if anyone has any questions post them here. If anyone traveling from afar has questions or needs MORE INFO then contact me directly or post here!
One more thing: The Tour of CECE that we were so hoping for earlier this year is definately NOT happening at this point. I wanted to re-state this as i have learned some folks are missleading themselves into thinking that we ARE going, and it's being held back as a big surprise. Sorry folks...i wish it were so!!! Trust me, it's not happening. The most we will get is a snapshot of all of us outside near the CECE Corporate road sign and that's it. A request was sent but it was shot down due to " new security measures"....
While past CV's have traditionally had a "Surprise Guest", this year there is nothing lined up. So now you know.....no CECE but heck, we will have LOADS of other options to enjoy! :D

What time & where is the Breakfast on the Sunday my flight home leaves DFW at noon.
Shiney Happy Jenn
06-29-2006, 07:46 PM
I think this will be decided on the fly Danny as i also leave very early on Sunday ( 10am). We will have to decided once we are there are what is availble locally for resturants. If most folks are leaving early then maybe it won't happen.
Yes, it's official now folks....i have just booked my hotel and flight ( finally!). I am staying at the Clarion, 4440 W Airport Fwy. Go to www.choicehotels.com (http://www.choicehotels.com) to book directly with the hotel. You have an option of choosing the type of rate you want, i chose "internet user rate" and found the best rate of all the travel sites i shopped around in. My final rate was $62 per night, so 3 nights worked out to be about $187 ( not including TX taxes). Not bad at all....but i do hope this place is not a dump!
My flight is another matter.....i booked via American Airlines as they had the only rates i could deal with. It's absolutely outrageous right now as far as airfares go, and i had to choose flight times i normally would not to keep the costs waaaayyy down. I am already spending $200+ more then i budgeted for....so every cutting measure i can do the better in this case.
I'll be arriving in TX around 8PM from Boston on Thursday. I leave early on the Sunday, 10AM! I had no choice, all the other "afternoon" flights were $700-$800 RT!!! Holy Crap!! You can fly to London England for that, AND stay one night in a hotel !!!! What a ripoff!
So it's now a done deed....everyone who has been wating for someone to make the first move can now relax and book with confidence.
CV3 will be here in less then 4 weeks now! Get booking!!!

The official meeting time for Irving and other location info will be sent to REGISTERED attendees the week of the event. It will be a e-mail with the meeting time, and address of the Irving CEC as well as any other revelent info.
The "official" intinerary will be issued once attendess arrive in Irving. Official CV3 Programs will be given out to all attendees that will list all events we have lined up as well as approxiamate times. If anyone needs to know ahead of arrival, let yourself known!
In a nutshell: We all meet on the Friday at the Irving CEC for Lunch and fun. After a couple of hours or so we will depart carpool style to The Captain's place to officially kick off CV3.
The night we conclude around 10/11:00 i am guessing, based on the fabulous lineup of activites we have planned. Guests are welcome to leave whenever the wish, or need too, if you are not able to stay later on.
Saturday we will meet up in the late morning likely, and do whatever activity has been decided on by the gathered group that day. Again, there is uncertainty as to what we will actually be doing that day. Whatever the group is keen on, is fine with me!
Sunday we will meet up early for Breakfast somehwhere nearby ( again, by vote of those gathered on day). This will conclude CV3 and attendees are then free to disperse.

Well I guess I can't complain that much. This trip was loads cheaper than the last two flights out to MA - maybe it's a distance thing? Had to get layovers though (I hate them) but to save the $$ it was worth it.

The special video featuring a personal greeting from J has been shot today! Looney Bird also appears, and was obnoxious as usual....lol!
A fun little program i think folks will enjoy seeing at CV3 since J will not be able to be there in person this time around. With this video though, he will sorta be there in a way!
Speaking of video: We need someone willing to be the official cameraman of CV3! Who coming is bringing a video camera? I ma asking as i want to be sure we get this event captured on film so others can see what they missed! Anyone here willing to video the Event for us?

This is something I was actually thinking of myself... the loss of J and Cheryl is going to show how invaluable they were to this event.
I have a video camera that might work... it's not a high end model by any means, but will attach to a tripod and records in Hi-8. If this is the best we can scrounge up, then I'll gladly bring it. I wouldn't mind manning the thing either and doing the video taping.
I thought that Capt had mentioned having a good camera though (or a friend who did). It's been months so my memory is a bit fuzzy.

Do you think you should send out a test message to the registered attendees to make sure you have everyone's e-mail address and can be fixed before the last minute?
Shiney Happy Jenn
07-10-2006, 07:25 PM
Good point...
If you have offically registered you will recieve it. I always post on the Board here when the message is sent so that those coming can confirm that they have recieved it. Those that don't can then make themsleves known.
We never had any problems in the past with the last minute e-mail. Basically everyone usually is aware of what's about to happen, but we don't list actual times and places publically. This is where the e-mail comes in...it will simply tell you the actual place(s) and times to meet up. We don't publically post them here for obvious security reasons.
As of now, CV3 begins with Lunch at the Irivng CEC. Next up will be the carpool parade to The Captain's pad for ofifical kickoff of the Event.
The Trivia Contest will follow, along with the much aniticipated "SkyTubes Race" board game frenzy.
Dolli Dimples will perform early on, and later we will all enjoy the Rock-aFire Explosion as they entertain attendees with some Classic Shows!
Next up will be a social break to chill out and get to know one another better. This is also when snacks will be availible, and time will be given to view the displays and collectible tables we will have set up
After this we will enjoy the Video Showcase which will consist of various rare videos of RAE/SPP as well as PTT/CEC related stuff. J's special video message will be played to kick things off, and during the program the long awaited debut of the "CV2 Event" program will be played! Yippee!
Shiney Happy Jenn
07-10-2006, 07:37 PM
After the videos, it will be time for more Animatronic mayhem in The Captain's Showroom!
The Pizza Time Players will then perform with Guest Star Harmony Howlette and perhaps another surprise!
Once this is over, things will wind down for the night and fans are free to finish up by taking more photos and picking up some of Vega's awesome CV3 and Showbiz.Com goodies on the Merch Table!
So there ya go....
The ACTUAL time we will meet in Irving, as well as The Captain's address and driving instructions will be sent via e-mail. The reason we are not publically posting it here is simply for security reasons.
The actual program of events, which will list all activities in order and approxiamate times of each will be given out to attendees the day of the event when they arrive at the Irving CEC. If you have old CEC Promo Cups...BRING THEM TO IRVING! You will then be able to get FREE DRINKS from the Bev Bar as per Promo Cup perks!
All attendees will recieve a special CV Program. These full color glossy printed souveniers are a CV tradition. They are very collectible as they often feature some unique exclusive artwork and are ONLY availble to those who actually attend the event! This years edition will be similar to last years, featuring some stunning RAE and PTT character art on the inside along with some fun photos of many characters appearing this year at CV3!
Other info: Be sure to bring $$$ with you to CV so you will be able to have Lunch in Iriving, and cover any other costs during your day(s) with us. Vega wil be bringing a wonderful and tantilizing assortment of souviners and CV Exclusive Merch to the Event for sale, so be sure to keep this in mind when deciding what amount to bring!
Transportain to and from various places will be primarily by carpooling with those who have vehicles. Many attending will be driving in, so this should mean plently of space for everyone to smoosh in. Last i looked we had about 12 people coming..maybe a few more. We will be traveling as a group at all times, to avoid the chance of anyone getting lost. Maps for the area can be found at MapQuest if you need to pre-print one out before the trip! There is talk of us having a custom made map made up for CV to distribute, more news on that as it develops.
What have i left out?

The Confirmation e-mail will be sent soon, as the Official CV3 Schedule of Events has been completed. I am awaiting a review from our Co-Host The Captain, once he gives it the ok it goes out. The FULL schedule will be given out the day of the Event via the Souvenier Program ( which is also now completed! Yippee!)
Vega is nearly donw assembling the extra play pieces for the "Skytube Race" game we will be playing. SHould be pretty sweet....
I also have some EXCITING NEWS:
WE NOW HAVE OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION THAT THERE WILL BE **TWO** SPECIAL GUESTS AT CV3!!
Yep...you heard right! TWO!!
Of course i'm not saying who they are...that would not be in keeping with CV tradition! As past followers of the Event know...every CV we try to have at least ONE "Special Surprise Guest" Year one was Aaron Fechter himself. Year two was Dolli Dimples and Earl Schmerle....this year will be....
Whoops...almost let it slip!!
Well i guess you will just have to show up and find out! ;)

Kerry hun,
It's you-know-who that will get a good mooning from the crowd...right after we do the traditional "Parking Lot Live Show" in the CECE parking lot.
We will flash our buttocks good to the tune of " Bring the House Down". Then Billy Bob will arrive and proceed to lift his leg on the Corporate Sign by the highway.
Just kidding.......:p
Seriously, i think Menutia was just being funny again...

Well i'm packing up all my stuff as we speak..
Here's a rundown of what i am bringing:
Two of my photo albums.
Pile of Videos
Showtapes for Show use
Barrel of Tokens ( no really!)
Stuff for the Goodie Bags
CEC themed paper cups and plates for the Snack Center
Super Chuck Promo Cups for prize option
Random stuff
Here is what i am bringing to show at the Video Showcase:
CECE Last Quarter 1999 video ( with great pre-show skit)
CECE Live Show Training 2002 ( hosted by Mix!)
CECE GM Convention Las Vegas 2001 ( featuring fun skits by our fave Dept 18 guys..)
CECE First Quarter 2000 video -with great bumpers that spoof "Survivor" with CEC and Pals by Dept 18
CV2 Event Program masters ( yay!!)
CV Compilation Video ( has various rare bits on it, including some rare Showbiz ads from 82' and a news story featuring footage of The Wolf Pack 5 IN ACTION and behind the scenes!)
I'm also bringing these Showtapes for use with the show we will have. There is NO gaurentee that these will work, but i'm bringing them anyway to try as it's too good a op to turn down!
CEC Variety Show 99'
September 2000
Summertime 2002
There is already a copy of "The Best of CEC Tv 93" on site...so i won't bring mine.
Something i should mention:
If you have a CEC PROMO CUP from the past, BRING IT TO IRVING!! All official CEC PROMO CUPS are good for FREE REFILLS at the BEVERAGE BAR at any CEC Location! Many people forget this!!
Mugs and souviener cups sold at the Merch Counter over the years are NOT VAILD PROMO CUPS! I'm talking about the cool ones you can purchase at Cash that change every few months. Over the years there have been many designs and concepts, most common being the color-changing Chuck E. Cups.
I should have mentioned this earlier, but if you have any CEC Promo Cups in your collection bring one with you and enjoy some free drinks in Iriving! This is totally legit folks...so take advantage of it!

Hey everyone!
It's been interesting here in TX so far. Getting ready for the event last night was neat. I'm technically inept so I sat out for most of the show preparation (ok, let's be honest here... ALL of that). But I did manage to catch some of the sweat and frustration on video.
Not sure if we'll be able to broadcast tonight via the radio station. After seeing Mike's setup, the cords everywhere and how far apart some of the attractions are going to be is looking to be quite troublesome. Not counting anything out yet, but we'll have to see.

Well we were up til 4am, Damon came in at 5am. I got about 5 hours sleep which is way more than I thought. We had all kinds of technical problems but I think we got the balcony show (mostly) working. We are going to head out to meet the group in 45 min and kick this thing off. It is 10:30am as I am writing this. More reports as we get time...

Everything ended at TJ Hartford's last night. I want to give everyone a chance to get in on the recap so I'm not going to say too much here. We visited the Irving store both days by CECE, saw lots of robots, checked out the last living 3 stage in Dallas which will be gone next month when the store is closed and ate at TJ Hartford's. I think everyone had a great time and it was great seeing all those I have met before and getting to meet a lot of the other people I had not met previously. I'll just leave it at that and let the others take it from there...

Yeah and since I was too lazy to take pics or film if anyone could send me some footage and pics too that would be great. I'd love to get a group shot with us all with one of the shows even if its at CEC for my animatronics world Yahoo group feature pic next month.
