Well Gang....it's that time of year again!
Time to start the OFFICIAL "CheeseVention 4" thread! Woo Hoo!! This years annual Fan Convention will be held where it all started for the concept 30 years ago...in San Jose, CA May 18/19/20th. For historic interest, that is the original opening weekend of the FIRST Pizza Time Theatre!
Yup....as you guessed, we are serious about celebrating Chuck E. Cheese's 30th Anniversary in style. We welcome PTT, CEC, and Showbiz Pizza fans from far and near to join us in our annual get-together.
In the coming months, all the info you will need to make your reservations and related info will be posted here, as well as on the forthcoming CV4 Website. I have designed a special Anniversary Logo for this years Convention, and i think it pretty much sums up the festive feel of this year's Event.
As of now, CV will kick off in San Jose near where the original PTT was once standing. Plans include visiting local related places of interest and top it off with a Birthday Bash at the now current San Jose flagship store. After a our Lunchtime party, we will hit the road for highway adventures and arrive in a yet-to-be-determined location just outside of the LA area.
After a good nights rest, the party continues as attendees hang out and enjoy taking in any local related places of interest. Lunch will be at Nolan Bushnell's newest resturant concept uWink Bistro, followed by a trip out to Rock-aFire Pizza to enjoy the full RAE Show and the wrap up finale dinner.
Folks wishing to extend there stay in CA and turn it into a vacation may wish to consider staying after CV4 and taking in some of the LA areas more famous attracions: DisneyLand, Universal Studios, Etc.
If anyone has any suggestions for a good hotel near the LA area that has good rates and is in a decent location please posts your suggestions here.
Any ideas you have for Cv4 are also welcome. There will be animatronics this year ( care of RAPizza) and we also have a few cool surprises lined up ( cross your fingers...).
Airfares out to San Jose are very resonable last time i looked. Keep in mind that when you book your flight, if you plan to join us for both parts of CV4 ( SJ and LA area) that you will have to book your inbound flight for San Jose, and your outbound from LA.
Any more news or related info i will post here.

I HOPE I can go but that depends on money. :{
If "we" do manage to continue onward to Disneyland...I highly recommend as a group that we make reservations for dinner at Goofy"s Kitchen. This place greatly inspired me to do my best to greet *every* guest at CEC when I performed at U-NJ, including bouncing from table to table in the dining room, just like all the characters do at Goofy's. Though I do realize that at peak times (in particularly at a large store like U-NJ) it may not always be possible...but I made it so when I did Mondays.

if we wanted to we could probably get a suite at the hotel and if anyone wanted to combine forces on it it will cut down on the costs

Danny, that is acually a excellent suggestion!
Maybe we could do this at the DisneyLand Hotel? I am sure they have suites..
I suppose it depends on how many are staying after CV4 to take in the Park. I am totally up for sharing a suite if that is cool with you guys.
Menutia, yes, i plan on flying back on the 23rd. I dont have my calendar in front of me but i trust Danny remembers better then i do at this late hour!

Thanks Gabe!
I just checked the DisneyLand hotel for booking and the place has no availible rooms. This may change, as there are always last minute cancellations.
I hope this is not the week DisneyLand is hosting the huge Premiere party for the new "Pirates of the C" movie. Something tells me this may be why the hotel is sold out, as the movie is released that weeknd i think.
Well this does not have any direct effect on CV4 really....just thought i would mention this if anyone else is thinking of staying at DisneyLand AFTER the Event is over.
Last i checked, airfares are still pretty reasonable to San Jose and LA. I would recommend at least booking your flight now...as the rates will no doubt go up the closer we get to Spring Break and the Summer price hikes.

It looks like we will be staying at the Day Inn there near the SJ CEC.
Menutia knows the place...if he could post the address it would be helpful to those looking for more info about the hotel.
We have not yet found a place in the LA area yet.....we are looking for something near uWInk and within decent distance from Rock-aFire Pizza.
If anyone has any suggestions, please post here! Feel free to post any hotel links as well!

Since Days Inn seems to be the preferred hotel of CV, I thought I'd throw this out there... when we last went to Disneyland we stayed at the Days Inn on Ball Road. It's just like maybe a 2 minute shuttle ride onto Disney property. You could practically walk there from the Hotel. Nice place and reasonably priced for being so darn close.
I thought it was neat how close everything is to the park with CA being so congested in the area. That Days Inn is far closer to the CA parks than the Pop Century or All Star ones are to the parks in FL.
Just a thought.... but you're probably right about the Pirates premiere happening then... I know it comes out in May sometime. IF that's the case then it might be hard to find decent lodging anywhere in the area. :rolleyes

PS - And for those curious I posted a preview of the CV4 artwork on the Special Events homepage. :eek

Thanks for the hit tip Vega! Yes, funny how Days Inn has become "the official hotel of CheeseVention". It always seems we end up there no matter where the Event it held. They should start putting that in their ads...ha ha ha ha!!
Thanks too to Danny for posting the hotel address for San Jose.
Now all we need is a nice place to stay in the LA area. Any suggestions?

IF the Pirates Premeire is scheduled for the day we plan to go to Disneyland this is how the park will operate:
Disneyland: 6:30AM-5:00PM
California Adventure: 10:00AM 11:00 PM
that is how they worked it for the last premiere

Hey Danny, thanks for the info.
Yeah, i'm up for staying at Days Inn in the LA area. Something we can get to off the highway near uWink would be cool. The address of uWink is in the related thread i started in the PTT section.
uWink
Westfield Promanade
6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd.
Woodland Hills, CA

Regarding as to wether or not we will get any "special benefits" when we visit RA Pizza-- i would not count on it at this point. The original owner who asked me to do the logo artwork is no longer there and i seriously doubt the current owners would find my claim valid. I may be able to see if Aaron could maybe inquire about that...but i cannot guarentee anything.
I just hope the place is still open when we arrive for CV4. I also hope the food is good, and the Show is working!

I can confirm the "Pirates 3" movie launch for that week ( May 25th). This is why i am having trouble getting a room at the DisneyLand Hotel. The only one coming up is Disney's Paradise Peir Hotel. I may just go with Vega's suggestion and stay at the Day Inn there as i crunched the number last night and the 3 day DL excursion will cost me as much as it costs me to stay a week in FL! So yeah, i may skip the Paradise Pier.
No doubt everyone will be filling the hotels around the area as the DL hosted Pirates Premiere is a HUGE event. If you did'nt see the news coverage last year of it, go do a search on YouTube or something and you will so how crazy it is.
Luckily i will be leaving before it gets nutty....but thought i would give ya'all i heads up. Anyone planning on hitting DL AFTER CV4 has been forewarned!

Yeah that sounds like it could be a madhouse there. But yeah Jenn, that Days Inn on Ball Rd is a deal. (There's 2 in the area, the other might actually be on property - I think the one I'm referring everyone to is actually cheaper).
Free shuttle service, literally a few blocks from the parks, and the room we had was really nice. Had a jacuzzi, fridge, couch, microwave... pretty sweet deal for around $60 if I'm not mistaken (i'm going back like 2 or 3 years here so forgive me).
I've been to my share of Days Inns including some really scuzzy ones (north las vegas at $22 a night sounded too good to be true - it was). But this one near Disney really surprised us and was one of the best we've been to.

Well i just checked out the Days Inn website...and it looks like i will definately be staying at the DL Days Inn Vega has told us about. The rates are not expensive and i need to save where i can to be able to afford this trip! I will save a truck load of $$$ if i go this route, so big thanks Vega for the awesome tip!
For those coming to San Jose and staying overnight on the 17th ( non-CV activity) the Days Inn on Tulley Road in SJ is fully booked! I checked the others in the area...and the one in Sunnyvale ( PTT Headquarters!) is availible. This is of no concern for anyone not arriving early for the SJ festivities. I find it interesting however that 5 of the 8 SJ area Days Inns were booked. Hmmm...maybe someone else is having a Convention in the area?
I am still deciding on a hotel near uWink or RAPizza. I need to look at a map to really decide which location is best in relation to where we are coming from, and where many will probably be going after CV is over ( DL).
I'll keep you posted.

Okay...just to review the plan so far:
CV4 kicks off in San Jose. We all meet up at the flaghship SJ CEC location and take in some local sights, including a visit to where the FIRST PTT stood and a stop over at where PTT Inc headquarters was based. It will be interesting to see what is there now...
Around lunchtime we return to the SJ CEC for lunch, and our official Birthday Party for the Rat himself. This may actually be booked too...as a REAL Party...thus insuring the Rat appears for us and also insure we get to see some live shows!
Around 2 ish we head for the LA area. That's right: ROAD TRIP. Bring your RAE/PTT/CEC tapes and cds people! The plan is to all go together in vehicles ( either rented or from local fans). We arrive in LA that evening and check in at our hotel ( to be determined soon!)
Saturday we gather and head off to uWink for lunch. Afterwards we can do what we wish as a group, but later on we will trek off to Rock-aFire Pizza and finish up with our traditional finale Dinner.
Sunday will see everyone part company as CV4 officially ends. However, many may decided to stay a few days more and take in local attractions such as DisneyLand, Downtown LA, or Universal Studios ( the real one!). It's up to you personally how you want to handle that aspect of your trip.
So there you go....the CV4 plan!
I will announce the LA area hotel soon. I need to research it a little as i don't want us to end up in some dump!
More updates when i have them!

Richard, if you can get $$ together for the flight, i am sure someone coming would be able to let you room with them.
Okay folks, i have been going nuts trying to find us a decent hotel in the LA area. I have spent the last 5 and half hours pouring over Google Maps, Travelocity, and various hotel sites.
I THOUGHT i found the perfect spot, but now i am having serious second thoughts. Originally i had my eye on the Travelodge Hotel LAX ( by the LA airport) and was quite excited about it ....until i realized it won't benefit anyone really as only one ( maybe two) people in out group would possibly be using LAX to begin with.
So after all that work...i am back to square one. I have to say this is the HARDEST time i have ever had finding a hotel. All are either too expensive, too far out there, or dumpy with very poor review ratings.
I will have another try tomorrow night. This time i am going to look in the area between DL and RA Pizza. Wherever we stay, uWink is a fast ride down the highway.
Wish me luck.
Those who recieved my prelimenary e-mail about the Travelodge please disregard it!

Richard...is this your question about Goofy's Kitchen?
If enough people come to DL after CV4, we can certainly look into booking a group seating. Reservations for this usually have to be made MANY many weeks in advance, so we would need to know right away how many are coming to DL after the conclusion of CV4.
Character Breakfasts are very popular, and DL has so few availible when compated to WDW so my guess the demand for space at each sitting is increased ten-fold.
Rapid T Rabbit
01-26-2007, 03:23 PM
Okay please let's look into it.
Goofy's Kitchen has dinner sittings also as well as brunch, so say if our party wound up going to DL on an "early" closing date due to the Pirates premieire, then that would be a nice dinner occaision.
As I've said before, back when I was still cast at CEC@U-NJ, I took a lot of inspiration back home with me from my dining experience at Goofy's, in that conditions permitting I would do my best to see that Chuck E. greeted everyone at every table and all around our store. I realize that it was not necessarily the same quaility of audience but still for the most part I weaved the same kind of magic.
Shiney Happy Jenn
01-26-2007, 08:15 PM
I can relate to what you are saying Richard. I also drew strongly from my expereinces at Walt Disney World and it heavily influenced my perfromance style ( probably because one day i hope to work there!). Many times i would have Guests at CEC come up to me while i was just visiting with families in the resturant and the a parent would lean over and say "You should work at DisneyWorld"! I specifically remember two older gents saying this too me in all seriousness one visit when i was Jasper. It makes you feel great when people honor you with such nice comments. To this day all my costume work is based on the Disney Character Magic principles and also the strict rules to "preserve the Magic".
Getting back to Cv4: Yes, we can definately look into maybe doing the character meal, though now that i think of it more then likely it would have to be a Breakfast. Friday we are in San Jose, Saturday we may well be near DisneyLand but the plans are for Lunch at uWink and Dinner at RA Pizza. Sunday is when Cv4 ends, and folks go there seperate ways...but i know several of us flying from out of state plans on staying longer to take in DL. One of THOSE days would be better.

Watch this space, as i hope to announce it by the end of this weekend.

I guess if I go I'll be skipping the Goofy's kitchen dinner. I worked for Disney for awhile, doing theme park character work AND hotel dining, and to be honest with you, I wouldn't care to pay that extra to dine with the characters. If their managers are as big of jerks as ours were at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort, I truly feel sorry for them! CEC is SO much more laid back when it comes to character work and freedom in costume! Even tough that stands true, I still believe that CEC could still learn ALOT from Disney!
Shiney Happy Jenn
01-27-2007, 07:39 PM
Bzier, i hear you man.....CEC has been wanting to BE Disney for several years now! Seriously! The simularities are not that hard to spot ( pin lanyards, calling the staff "CM's"....a giant rodent as a mascot....creating "Magic"...etc.).
There are SO many "rules" when you are in costume at Disney....it can be a miracle sometimes to see what can be done. Some of the stuff we take for granted in a CEC's would never be attempted at a Disney Theme Park...lol.
I would'nt worry about the Goofy's Kitchen thing...it is only a idea and not part of the official CV4 program. This would be something we would more then likely do afterwards, as several of us will remain in the area after Cv4 wraps up on Sunday the 20th of May.

WOw!!
A Rocker Stage is still left in CA too? SWEET!
Maybe we should look into visiting that location? Where is it Danny?
I am up for that... maybe we can squeeze a visit in after uWink on the way to RA Pizza? It is a rare store indeed that still has a Rocker Stage in operation...i was under the impression that the only one left was the one out in IL.
Awesome find Danny!!
I booked my flight to CA today, all the rest of my ressies' i made yesterday. Woo Hoo!!! I am very pleased, as it is no ways near as expensive as i thought it would be to go out there.
Folks, check into JetBlue for airfares as they really have some awesome, affordable prices right now for CA. Really, those of you reading who think you can't come due to the high cost may think twice after seeing the GREAT RATES!
Hotel is only $50 a night ( 1 king bed) or $68 for two double beds. Room with someone and split that down the middle...that's aroundf $25 a night!
JetBlue flys out of most large cities, and as luck would have it...BOTH San Jose and Long Beach airport are JetBlue Hub Cities...which means CHEAP FARES and NON-STOP service in many cases.
Please do look into booking as this is going to be a fun time!

Thanks!
Okay, here's a heads up for ya'all:
The Birthday Bash we plan on throwing in San Jose on the 18th will be a officially booked party at the store location. I have always thought it would be best to go ahead and book ourselves a "real" CEC Birthday for several reasons....but the main reason is this:
All officially booked parties have Chuck E. come out and visit the table...plus it means we will also get some live shows and the all-important Birthday Show.
I am assuming that since this is a training store, and considered the west coast flagship location, we are guarenteed a better-then-average expereince and will also see some REAL Live Show routines. I also expect everyone coming to get up and DO above mentioned Live Show routines!
I also plan on having some authentic Pizza Time Theatre derby hats made for us to wear at the party. Menutia is helping me out in getting the raw material ( thanks a bunch big guy!) so that should be a go.
I will make the initial party deposit at the time of booking it ( in March probably, to confirm attendees) and the cost per guest will be roughly $23/$25 each. I am adding on all the plus items, as this is the Rats' 30th and we should'nt skimp in this department.
Be sure to bring extra $$ with you so you can purchase more tokens ( i will have a bucket with me onsite...much like a did at Cv3) and any additional food items. We will be getting a extra cake, as that is pretty much a must for adults.

Anyone else definately coming at this point?

Yes JetBlue has been "my" official airline for the past few years now too...in fact JFK is their main hub. Also, during my last visit to Disneyland in December 2005, I stayed at that same Days Inn around the corner.
Booking (the flight) this soon for me can be tough, though I am in a position right now only to get those days off work in advance. Jen, if you don't read my LJ, you can ask J who does and knows what my situation is. :(
I might have someone in San Jose I can stay with for free at least.

I'll do my best to make it.
It just occurred to me, how are we as a group going to handle ground transportation both in the San Jose and Anaheim areas and in between? Also JetBlue's SoCal hub is Long Beach.
Shiney Happy Jenn
01-30-2007, 12:38 PM
It's up to each person coming what they want to do really, but here is the plan as far as transport goes:
If you plan on joining us for the kickoff in San Jose, you will need to fly JetBlue to San Jose Airport ( SJC). JetBlue does fly non-stop there on some flights, or they do connecting flights from Long Beach. The rates tend to be same regardless.
Arrive in San Jose on the 17th, stay over night at the local Days Inn. Mentutia, The Captain, and Travis will be rooming there ( actual hotel will be noted when i know which one they are staying at).
Friday the 18th we have the Birthday Bash at the SJ location, then everyone jumps in vehicles and we road trip south to Anaheim. As noted earlier, a couple of fans coming will have vehicles, one of which i know is renting a van. You would have to fit yourself into one of these for the trip down.
We arrive that night in Anaheim and check into our hotel on Ball Road.
The next day (19th) we spend most of the day driving around visiting the places planned. Again, you would be carpooling with someone.
The following day ( 20th) if you plan on leaving to go back to NY, you would need to fly out of Long Beach Airport. The hotel offers a shuttle service, plus other fans may also be leaving that day.
So be sure to book your arrival in SJC, and your return flight home at LB. If you find you can get a better rate by flying to Orange County, or Los Angel-lees, that is ok too. Just relalize you will have to pay for a shuttle service to LA or OC.

Good news everyone:
I have a confirmed date on the "Pirates 3" Premeire event at DL: It's the weekend of April 22nd...which works out good for CV.
I was concerned that the event was the weekend we would be in town, and that surrounding hotels in Anaheim would be booked up, and crowds of crazed celebrity seekers would be clogging the area. Not so! The Premiere nuttiness is a good month BEFORE we even set foot in CA.
Whew...i can breath a sigh of relief now.
Now for the bad news:
Word has reached my ear that Rocka-Fire Pizza may be CLOSED now. I am awaiting confirmation on this, but Veganova heard from a CA fan who tried calling their recently and no one answered.
IF by chance RAPizza is closed, fear not! CEC3066 tells me that a CEC that still has a Rocker Stage is nearby! I know it's not a RAE, but it's better then nothing and just as rare to see in the field.
Just wanted to give ya'all a heads up. Do not let that stop you from coming!

If we are taking votes mine would be for CEC. it's closer to where were staying and the show might be in better shape and this may be the one chance I get to see a Rocker stage in the flesh. so we WILL Rock either way either w/ 8 characters or 5.

Tinafan, THANK YOU for calling! I really appreciate it!
Danny, i think it would be cooler if we hit RAPizza for the finale dinner. Those of us who remain in CA after CV to take in DL can hit that CEC sometime and check out the show.
We really need to keep the Rock-aFire element in CV. I know it's the big 30th year for Chuck E., but it would be a shame to miss seeing this place, no matter how bad a state the show may be in.
So i stick with the original plan. Besides, i think it would be cool to visit the resturant i designed the logo for!
We will definately make time to check out the Rocker Stage at that CEC after CV4...don't worry!

02-02-2007, 10:23 PM
OH! They have the DVD system now! Not the VCR. So you gotta be smart. I can bring my "specially made show" if they allow us to play it.
Would be cool. I can also bring Best of 93 that I transfered to DVD too and see how that goes.

do you have any converted DVD's that will work for the Rocker stage D man I know w/the stuff they get now the charactersb are all looking the wrong way from what they should be so your DVD's would have to have been from C&R stage master tapes not 2 stage.

Aaron had the honor of being at the FIRST CheeseVention ever right here in Danvers. He came up special for the event, and joined us at the Danvers CEC to spend some time with the fans and answer questions. He also brought some cool prototype RAE merchandise and gave out 'Homely for Christmas" cassettes to everyone. It was awesome!

03-10-2007, 04:40 PM
Nope. Simi Valley is supposedly a corporate store. So is Rockford...the OTHER home to a Rocker stage.
Sometimes I wonder if corporate realizes these stores still have these shows, or if they just don't care. Either way, I think it's great that they still exist! If I was a franchise owner who had a Rocker stage, I would do what I could to hold on to one of these babies!

If everyone is planning to do Disney on Monday as well I'll probably stay with whoever is still around. Depending on what happens Tues. I may still stick with anyone left. Tues. evening I will probably split off from everyone and do dinner and hang out with some friends I have in LA. Wed. morning I am taking a train on to San Diego. Hey Franchise! GREAT to hear you are coming! This is awesome, as we will need your help when we do the Live Shows at Chuck's Birthday Party in SJ!
For those who had asked: Yes, more then likely there will be another CV on the East Coast. The first two CV's were in MA, and i'm sure at some point down the road we will be back in the area.
There is also talk of a Midwestern CV in the future...for all you Midwestern Fans! There is enough out there i warrant i visit i think...
But as a rule, i don't like to talk too much about future CV's while still in the planning stages of the current years event. Things can just get too confusing for me, and others too! I DO however usually think ahead a couple of years....so don't worry!

Hey Jenn, Is there a CV 1/2 this year?
Shiney Happy Jenn
03-23-2007, 09:52 PM
Not that i know of......but ya never know!
The 'Cv 1/2" thing was a small local gathering of MA fans to just hang out...and to also let those who live in the Eastern seaboard get a chance to visit with other fans nearby if they were not able to make the trip to TX last year.
If there WAS to be a "CV 1/2" it would more then likely be AFTER the main event this time around. Just guessing, but tentively there are no plans whatsoever.
It's only a month and a half away from CV4! Have YOU ALL made your reservations yet ??

Was this the goal - on sat to hit uWink, the Simi store, and the road trip it out to Rock-afire Pizza? :eek
That's a lot for one day, but really I think it's the best bet if we can do it all effiiciently and keep on a (fairly) tight schedule. If we figure spending 2 hours at each location we could probably run it like this... and this is just me thinking out loud so nobody consider this an official agenda by any means...
Meet at uWink at noon, stay and have lunch for two hours and leave by 2:00.
Travel over to the Simi store and meet up again by 2:30. Stay two hours and leave at 4:30.
Then it's travel time to Indio and meet up at Rock-afire Pizza at about 6:30. Stay two hours and leave by 8:30. Be back in Anaheim by 10:30-ish.
Hopefully noon at uWink isn't too over zealous - those of us traveling from San Jose may be having a late night on Friday considering the drive time and dinner and any complications that might come up.
Any thoughts?

Hey there Bzier! Awesome to hear you will be able to make it!
Yes, Friday the 18th is the kickoff in San Jose, and yes we will meet up at the flagship SJ location. Here we will be having a "official" 30th Birthday Bash for Chuck E. Around 2/2:30 we will depart for Anaheim. We will road trip down, and arrive at out CV4 Hotel, the Days Inn on Ball Road near DisneyLand. Further details are found in this very thread....just check out the last 3 pages or so...
On Saturday we will get together and head off to uWink for lunch...much as Veganova laid out above. We spend a couple of hours there, then depart for Rock-aFire Pizza in Indio, CA. On the way there we will stop by a CEC that still has it's Porch Stage ( aka Rocker Stage) operational! We finish up at Rock-aFire Pizza for the finale Dinner, and afterwards drive back to out hotel.
Sunday we will more then likley meet for breakfast, and then CV4 is officially over. Folks can then head back home, or stay and take in the local attractions on there own time. Many of those coming this year will be staying 2 to 3 more days after CV4 to visit DisneyLand, LA, and maybe even Universal. Those acitvited are not officially part of CV4, these are things that we are doing on our own but you are more then welcome to take part in it as well!
Hope that answers the basic quesions. More info is found contained in this thread, hotel address and such. Check the last few pages in this thread for the latest info.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hey bzier - hope you can make it, it's always great to see new faces!
Jenn - I'm sending out an e-mail to you and a few of those that I know are coming to try and knock out a few more details. I've got the CV part of the event section finally knocked out so it should have the most solid info (this thread has gotten pretty messy... I think I've gotten the main stuff pulled from it though).
My plans are to hit Disneyland on the 20th. I know some are staying through to monday and beyond, but workwise I'm probably going to have to head home monday morning. I really wanted to visit Disney (since I'll be able to practically see it from the hotel) and the 20th is my only chance for that. It will work out good though for whoever can join me as Disney is open that day from like 8am to 11pm (they're only open until 8pm monday and tuesday).

Ok! I have good news and bad news!!!
Good news is that there is a singing contest going on over here through the months of April and May, and I entered it and won 1st place last Thursday!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!
So now I go to the semi finals, and if I make top 3 in that part, I get to perform in the finals on the main stage that Jennifer Hudson will be performing on at the Long Beach Gay Pride Festival. 1st place is $2500, 2nd is $500, and 3rd is $250. But the best part, for me being an entertainer, is that I can perform on the main stage in front of a big crowd! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!
That's the good news!!
The bad news, the finals are the 19th and 20th!! :(
So basically, if I make it that far, I won't be able to some, if not all, the events at CV4. I am not sure of the times and all, so it's hard to say. But more than likely, it will take up alot of that weekend.
So sorry guys! But if that is the case, I will do my very very best to meet up with you guys somewhere. Would love to see you all!!
Otherwise, WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!

Wow awesome job TinaFan!
Too bad to hear the finals are the same weekend as CV4! Hopefully you can make it at some point to meet up with us before we all part company.
Latest update now:
I have now officially booked our party at the San Jose CEC! Woo Hoo!
Friday May 18th, booked for 12 "kids" and 12 adults. I had to book "kids" as they don't consider adults participants in the party!
We will be having the Super Party Package with a couple of add ons.
Super Party Pack includes these items per person:
28 game tokens
CEC Party Goodie Bag
100 Prize points ( game tickets)
Slice of cake
Two slices of pizza
Drink with free refills.
I have also added on a additional cakem so we will have both flavours and plenty of cake ( need that sugar for the long drive to Southie!)
I have also added on a CEC Promo Cup for everyone, so you can use it all during CV4. This means no matter what CEC you visit, you can get free drinks! Yay!
When we are on site i will also more then likley purchase balloons to tie to every chair and use as centerpeices ( looks very festive when we used to do this at my old Store..)
Two Medium pizzas come with the Party, but more then likely we will order a couple more pies, salads, etc.
When i booked the party, there was no spot to make requests, such as requesting to sit near the stage, etc. I will work on this from another angle and try to secure us a spot in front of the Animation!
All of this works out to about $28.00 per person ( the Super Party pack, plus extra cake and the CEC Cups). What a deal!
I also am working on a surprise for us......something to add to the nostalgic atmosphere.

Okay gang, here are a couple of articles i found recently about uWink. Both of these did a great job getting me even more excited about visiting during CV4!
Check these out....
The first link takes you to a great article written by someone who was one to the first to visit. It contains some really nice photos, and i think does a good job of showing you more of the atmosphere there and what to look forward to.
See it all here:

This second link is neat as it is about a group a gaming fans who visited and met Nolan. It also features some decent photos.

Latest update now:
Work is about done on the CV4 Program.
It will be the best one yet, and the largest size to date. It is themed for the 30th Anniversary, and i think the die-hard Pizza Timers out there will love the layout!
I also have been working on a couple more items for the Goodie Bags. Cv4 will be a biggie this year, so i am investing in some nice additions to the festivities where i can!

Ok, maybe I missed this but how far is it to the Anaheim or L.A. area from San Jose...and can you fly directly into San Jose...? I'm sure you can...not sure... How many hours will it take to get there?
:choochoo: :choochoo:
Shiney Happy Jenn
04-17-2007, 07:11 PM
Hey Gabe, you can fly directly into San Jose on some airlines, but most will send you to Long Beach or LAX ( Los Angelas Airport) and switch to a smaller plane for the ride to San Jose. Jet Blue has the best rates to date, check em out here: http://www.jetblue.com
Where would you be flying out of? If it's Dallas/Ft.Worth i am farily certain you can get a non-stop. Flying time from TX to CA is probably 4/5 hours i am guessing. I am coming from the absolute opposite point on the map ( MA) and the flight for me is about 6 hours.
Now as far as the drive goes, the estimated time to drive from San Jose to Anaheim is about 5 to 6 hours. Naturally we will be taking breaks as needed, and potty-stops. The plan is to carpool together, or at the most, two vehicles if need be. For now we have one large van planned that will be rented and all of us coming will just pile in and hit the road after the 30th Birthday Bash at the SJ Store. Danny and one of his parents will be flying to Anaheim afterwards however, and more then likley meet us there. This is also an option...as you can hop a small plane in SJ and fly right into Anaheim at the John Wayne Airport in Orange County. If you need more info, let me know!
Thinking of coming? If so...cool! This is going to be AWESOME!
And you guys up above beat me to it! I was going to post that we have reached the "1 Month to Go" mark but ya'all did it already! Cool!! I'm glad to hear everyone is excited!

Maybe you can hang out with Danny as he will be at the CV4 Hotel in Anaheim before we arrive down from SJ.
That would work, as you will get to experience the bulk of the CV4 Events, the only thing you will miss is the 30th Birthday Bash.

Latest update:
We may have another Special Guest join us for CV4!
Those following my recent thread in the PTT Section of the Forum will already have some idea as to who it is. This person was heavily involved in the developement and design of the PTT Concept, and was there since Day 1 right with Nolan.
What better way to honor the 30th Anniversary of PTT then have the two people most responsible for it's creation be a part of it?
Although nothing is set in stone, or 100% definate, there IS interest and it MAY happen. That alone gets me excited at the possible prospect of having these two gents involved!

Whattaburger Schmuttaburger Out here in CA there are 2 burger joints that are the best. http://www.sonicdrivein.com (they have a location in ANAHEIM) and there is also a place called InNOut Burger http://www.innoutburger.com/ this chain has locations in CA,AZ & NV. all their food is made FRESH evern the FRIES (made in 100% Vegetable Oil) while not shown on the menu They also offer Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. One cool thing about their Drive Thru, when they answer, they don't say "Welcome to In N Out Burger How can I help you" but rather a polite "Hi How are you"

Nice......i've seen this photo around for a while but it's still a keeper.
Well folks, at the CV4 Chat the other night i announced our 2nd Special Guest.
It is none other then Gene Landrum, who was PTT's CEO and President back in the day as well as being a major influence in the creation of the concept.
These are the two people who were the ones who created the Chuck E. Cheese we know and love from Day 1, and i can think of nothing better to honor the 30th Anniversary then have them both Nolan and Gene involved in our celebration in CA!
Gene has expressed great enthusiasim and interest in being a part of CV4. He is hoping to able to cut his current lecture tour short to be able to join us in CA for our get together! At this point, it is not 100% set in stone.....but there is a very possible chance if things work out on his end that he will be with us!
Can you even begin to imagine how incredible this will be??
Shiney Happy Jenn
05-14-2007, 08:20 PM
Okay folks, i have some news.
It's official now: Gene Landrum will NOT be able to make it to CV4 after all. Awww! He is dissapointed that he won't be able to be there, as he was very pumped to take part, but he has a new book project finishing up and other appointments that can't be put off.
He WILL however still be a part of CV4 in a small way....as he ageed to send me a brief message to be read at the Event. Yay!! I have it here now, and will bring it with me to CA to be read at some point when we are all together, probably at uWink.
No official confirmation from Nolan yet.......he has been quiet since the initial contact.
More news when i have it.

He was really dissapointed that he had missed meeting up with us, but his business meeting with someone from out of town went on longer then expected and he arrived at uWink around 5pm. He was hoping that perhaps some of us may have still been hanging around, but alas, we had already all left by 2:30 to head back to Simi Valley.
