You guys can thank me for this one later ;)
Make sure when the show is purchased whoever wins. You open the crates and go through the check list to make sure your getting evertything..Also the show is "Perfect" This would mean the masks need to be replaced..so you should get new mask's with it. Because most are melted..especially Fatz's masks. Also check your Rolfe crate for the box that is labled costumes. I am willing to bet you will have to dig to the back of the pile to find a Rolfe crate with costumes. Make sure you have every item when you leave Creative Engineering. If you don't it's your word against Aaron's. Good Luck..This is an awesome deal for someone..It is outstanding..But I had a feeling this would happen. Aaron will go way out of his way to try and get back at someone. I do have a bid in on it myself..lol. I would love to be the one to show up with a check in my hand and go down the check list with Aaron. Then I would be fully licensed to use it wherever I want according to the listing ;)

Gawd what's up with this Crazyness it's like I stepped into a bad episode of the young and the robotless or something Aar's selling a show for 8k ????

I was just bidding on it because Aaron listed it out of spite. I did end up selling my show though. A buyer is making payments to me with a huge down payment. I will end up selling the whole thing for 35k. And yes I have already received payments so it is a done deal. And the sad thing is..the same person could have bought that show from Aaron...but Aaron had to show hisself once again. So it worked out in my favor. But for whoever wins it...like I said before..for your own sake....Make sure you check the crates fully before leaving and do a checklist.

It just go's to show you how vindictive Aaron is. He would have never sold a whole show with a tivo. It was all against me. Glad to see I am still on your mind. ;)

No..I am moving out into an apartment. And the show is sitting in my parents living room and bedrooms. So I just dont feel like dealing with it. And yes I love those cars as much as I do the show..they both were my hobby. But thats not why I am selling it,

Well, not really...hopefully Travis will set up his show and run it..then we'd still have a chance to see a RAE.

Well what I meant actually was that there wasn't going to be anymore new shows. Which would suck, I just got a ton of material and ideas that the RAE could have done.:(

snap, why do you think that Aaron was trying to 'beat' your deal on your show that you had for sale? Maybe he is justing trying to sell off the existing shows that he has stored and just wants to get rid of them for something...I know that we all love animatronics but for the most part they are not money makers anymore...walk in to walmart now they are selling singing life size animals at Halloween now and no one (outside of fans) know who the Rock A-fire even is. I am sure that he made his money 25 years ago but now just needs to sell of left over enventory and move on...I am confident you will see future shows online for sale in the future.

To have one 'bot would make me happy, sit it in the corner of the living room and cry when it starts getting closer every night without assistance....

as for a show...

too much money, and no space....man it would be a dream come true to have the RAE in my home/basement/garage/pizza place :)

heck i would be thrilled if i could find an antioch for sale at a reasonable price.

If I ever had a show, I would:

1. Figure out how to reduce a whole computer to maybe 3-4 chips on one board rather than the separate playback board and character cards, or replace all that with a custom, PC-based computer.

2. Ditch the 4 channel tape player and convert the "encoded" movement data to DVD. This would be easier if I had a computer setup on my show.

3. If I have time, add some kind of video to the existing shows, thus increasing the value of my "modernized" RAE.

4. Obtain rights to the RAE from Aaron/CEI and put out new show content. Make new RAE units from diagrams, and sell them, giving part of the money to Aaron/CEI.

I’ve thought about that, and I would use a PC with audio and movement data all stored on the hard drive. I would still use separate character cards though, because that would allow a multiplexing scheme and eliminate the need to run thick bundles of cable out the back of the PC and under the stage.

But above all, I would preserve the original control equipment for historic value.

Hey Everyone!

I know I've been quiet lately - that's just from being so busy over the last month. I haven't been very good with following up on e-mails either... I should have some free time coming soon to take care of that though. :)

But yes, I am back from CEI and my show should be arriving by mid-next week. It's actually right down the road at the transit location, I just won't be able to recieve it until next week when I'll have some help unloading it!

The Florida trip was fun and very interesting. Lots of stories to share, which I'll post in a week or two in the Nov issue of the Bulletin (the october issue will be up tomorrow).

Anyway sorry for being so distant from everyone! I'm still buzzing around and I'll be happy to answer all questions and such anytime - just post away and I'll reply as soon as I can. :)

Hi Travis!

I'm kinda lost here, but what did you all get with your new show?
