Does anyone have any info on "The Gold Collection"? Is it still available? How much does it go for? Are these just songs patched together to one tape from different shows? Is there any dialogue on the tapes or just the songs? Thanks!

To my knowledge NO Reels are for sale anymore. Now the Tivo is currently comprised of the shows that made up the Gold Collection. It is mostly just random songs. As well as the Lip Syncs. Last I hear which has been a while.... the Tivo was selling for 10,000. That is of course when shows weren't selling for 12,000. So maybe the price has come down, but even still I wouldn't really want it considering the material that is available on it.. :(

No, they are still available. Most of it is reprogrammed stuff and it's not all that great. I had some of it. They are basically show selector reels with intros to each song. I think 90% of the material on these reels is far from the best of what the RAE had to offer.

Did any ShowBiz locations ever use Show Selector, or was it just post-Showbiz places.

Some of the early stores used it, but it was a different beast. Same system from what I can understand but it had the old 'classic' material on it.
A few locations had it in 1982... maybe earlier. It was created back when CEI was still receiving checks for research and development from SPP. Guess it didn't catch on in the begining, because I don't know of many locations ever using it. Probably one of those things that was pulled early and then was 'revived' when CEI started selling the RAE to other restaurants in the late 1980s.

So... BTW what were the restaurants that had the Rock-afire in the late 80's were these already like the Fun Time Pizza's we're talking or? :choochoo:
IDK if the places were ever mentioned or not... :nerd:
