I'm gonna miss the animatronic heads/costumes, but it still looks good.

Saban, the producer of Power Rangers bought the rights to TMNT from Eastman and Laird and ruined it with a live TV series. I think they still have them so I hope they are not going to produce this. I loved the old school Ninja Turtles! I want it back the way it was!

What?!? Saban owns the right to the turtles now? When did that happen? Of course after watching the trailer it does look Saban-ish. Although, I am a fan of the old school power rangers.

They got them a few years ago and had a live action show in the afternoon. They added a 5th girl turtle "venus" for starters. THEN they made a TMNT/Power Ranger cross over. (No I'm not kidding). I would assume this new project is also a Saban deal. If there is a female ninja turtle then its definately Saban.

I HATE cheap animation!!

Cheap animation? That animation is far from being cheap. To make that teaser alone cost a pretty penny.

Oh yeah it will be high dollar on effects and quality. The storyline and cheesefactor are what has me worried! I need to look this up and see if Saban is indeed producing it.

Saban isn't involved with it. Now it's Imagi Animation Studios and Warner Bros. But well, let's see what the future brings ...

If Shredder is in it, i'm all about it.

I'm still waiting for it to get here, but I had to order the classic movies.. 3 DVD set for only $35 from Amazon.com- and just over $20 from one of their 3rd party sellers.

TMNT DVDs (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000VV3U0/ref=pd_rvi_gw_2/103-3092780-7979016?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=130)

And about the animation, I agree with Mike- it's definitely not cheap. But I'm getting tired of everything going CGI.. it's impressive, just not as entertaining.

Sorry, for you Kerry-chan, but Shredder is not "the" villain in this film. From what I red, there will be only a flash back, where you can see how he was defeated by the Turtles.

So will this flashback feature the live-action turtles? The second film, "The Secret of the Ooze" was always my favorite.

Yes! The secret of the ooze is my favorite as well.

Okay, I checked again and it was said that Shredder has an appearance and "maybe" will be in the next movie. (They are already planning for the next one, even if the 2007 movie isn't finished ...)

Oh wait! I found a page in English language which tells about this. It is what the writer director Kevin Munroe said at the Comic-Con in San Diego. Here is the original sentence:

Shredder is not the villain in the story, though he does make an appearance, which might set up the conflict for the sequel.

Wasn't sure what to expect from the CGI but I thought it looked kinda neat - sorta in between cartoony and real life.

I loved the movies as a kid. Except for the 3rd one just because it was so far removed from the cartoon, even back then I hated it. My favorite was the second one because of Tokka, Rahzar, and of course Super Shredder (Kevin Nash for those who don't know). But after going back and watching them again as an adult, if you can call me that, I do think that the first one is by far the much better movie.

I do remember that Saban produced live action one. And Venus. Wasn't that one based on after Shredder had been killed and they had a different villian? I just remember that they looked generic compared to the movies and it wasn't all that entertaining. Maybe it was because I was getting older or because it was the last attempt to milk the turtle fad before it went away for 15 years.

That power rangers crossover intrigues the hell out of me though - I need to look into that!

The cross over was from Power Rangers in space. Its availble on Youtube.com if you search. The villian was a dragon or some kind of reptile in the live action Saban produced show. I only saw half of one episode and that was enough to turn me off to it. The only other one I saw was the pris/tmnt cross over and it used the pr villian as she kidnaps and brainwashes them.

My favorite was the second one because of Tokka, Rahzar, and of course Super Shredder (Kevin Nash for those who don't know).

Yes! Tokka and Rahzar were my favorites! Travis, were you talking about Kevin Clash? I know he puppeteered and provided the voice for Splinter. Maybe it's a completely different guy we're talking about though, lol. I remember having a behind-the-scenes video, which was my favorite thing to watch. Has anyone seen this/still own it?

As soon as the Captain said the "crossover" was on youtube, I knew I had to go find it.. and it's pretty cheesy. Alright, really cheesy. I don't blame him for only sitting through half of it.

Nah I mean Kevin Nash the wrestler (or Diesel for those who were watching the WWF back in them days).

I read about it in toyfare a few years ago and sure enough the name checks out in the credits. :)

Hmm, I haven't heard of him, but I'll keep an eye out. As soon as those DVDs get here, I'm having a Turtle marathon :lol

I don' think Casey and April has been in any of the new turtle stuff either. I think it was just Splinter and the 4 original turtles and that's it on the original characters.
