if my subject doesn't make sense it seems more of the GOOD LIVE's are dissapearing w/ NO replacement. we haven't had a new Live show since April 2005. and yesterday when I went to CECn I saw what I Thought was the LAZIEST excuse for a LIVE either they hooked the boombox up to ther DVD player or they put the Roadshow disc in the DVD player performed the CHA CHA SLIDE for a LIVE show while standing in front of 5 non-moving bots (our bots have been off of random mode for a while now) my point is...Roadshows ARE nice but Regular Live's are JUST AS FUN

I was originally hoping the Cha Cha Slide would be a Live show. Road shows are fun and all, but the Lives need to be taken care of first. I'm curious about how the cast setup the ChaCha in the showroom... as far as I know, the DVD players won't just play regular discs.

Speculation...
I expect Live Shows to eventually be phased out. Road Shows will be (if not already) the replacement. Only the Birthday Shows will be needed in the showroom for parties.

Well, you were right on the money :cec_thumbs:
I was saving this line for my review, but it pains me to inform you that it doesn't matter what you choose to call it anymore, live shows/birthday shows are a thing of the past. The only thing you will be hearing now is Chuck E. Cheese's Birthday Extravaganza. Buckle up kids, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

the Road show forms of the Lives remain i believe.

UHM. But there IS a new live show isn't there?
The Chicken Dance? Or am I wrong???

Wow, it attacks again! I hope others can shed some light as to what is to be used, but from what we were told it's only Birthday Extravaganza now. The Chicken Dance can still be performed as a road show, though. :)

The only thing that is " History" is the Birthday star, Spanish bday and The Eddie Coker bday and replaced with the Birthday Extravaganza. You can still go " We say happy, you say birthday!" The only thing you wont be doing is baking a cake and stirring that little baby with a garden rake.
Live shows can be used on a optional basis. New live shows are still going to be relased.

You are correct. The Chicken Dance was released as a Road show and as a live show accompanied with a Chicken dance training video.
All 3 stages and CEC stages was sent a stand alone Chicken Dance training DVD which is configured to play in the Showroom DVD player.
All Studio C's have the option to select the Chicken Dance (live) or Chicken Dance (Training) from the live show menu on the M.C.P.

Like Mike mentioned above, Lives aren't gone, they are still optional. You can still select them from the touchscreen/show panel.
BUT! Most likely you will be seeing all the stores phasing them out. Since the B-day extravaganza has a 5 min. and 2 min. countdown, it will be hard to fit in a live show into the new time schedule for parties. The new time schedule is so constricted and needs to be followed strictly to finish a party off in time to wrap up and start over for the next wave.
So lets do some Math guys... According to the new b-day training manual: 55 after the hour is where B-day host/hostess need to gather kids into show room. 60 after hour is when the show begins. 70 after is cutting cake. 80 is bill and (if there lucky presents) and 90 after is wrap up time and get them outta there.
So if you program a 3 min. live + a 5 min. countdown+ the 4 min. B-day extravaganza song, you'll complete the live shows at 72 after hour...now I know your thinking, "Wow 2 minutes over, big deal!" Trust me, every minute counts. If your in the middle of a busy Saturday when the showroom is packed, it's hard to maneuver around people and cut cake for 30+ people all in 8 minutes.
Well, I'm going to state my opinion on lives, remember its my opinion about them and you can either agree or disagree, but lets not stir up a pot of arguments about it, I don't want more fights on here.
I never liked live shows. Even though I'm always Chuck from them at my store, guests always complained about them and the amount of time they took. No matter how much "magic" I could stir up for them, I would say 8 out of 10 parties would either not care and not pay attention or complain about lighting the candles NOW for little Johnny. Guests now-a-days don't really want to see Chuck dance in front of them for 3 mins. of their life...they're paying hundreds of bucks for 90 min. table time and they want to spend every minute of it. They want to cut straight into lighting the candles so Johnny can blow them out, eat his piece of cake, and go play games. I lost count of the countless number of parties who light there candles in the middle of a live show, and yes I said live show, not B-day song/show...meaning the whole B-day song is pointless.
With that being said, phasing out lives (in my opinion) is a good thing. When everyone here gets to experience or see for themselves a good performed B-day extravaganza..it's basically a mix of a live and a b-day song. With the last minute winding down on the coutdown, B-day host/ess gather all the kids and when the song begins, chuck gathers all the kids and marches around the showroom...there is your Chuck E. March with a B-day song...
I know a lot of you loved the live shows, and I know for a lot of you it was a tradition, but just wait it out until you see for yourselves how the new system works and then post your opinions on how you think lives should or shouldn't exist.
And road show's are still an option. :cec_thumbs:

I hate to say this but... Kid Check is right. No one pays attention, and the only way I've seen them do it is on youtube videos of Donovan (did I spell that right? Sorry if I didn't).
I say, keep live show for the organzation/fundraisers. Thats my opinion though. Also, how the hell do people expect Chuck E. and the Chuckettes to perform which such little room up in the front?
I'm just complaining now but... come on... seriously.
But, thanks Mike for clearing things up. I knew that it couldn't be true that we were getting rid of them completly!

No, the Eddie Coker one still plays at my CEC, followed by Birthday Extravaganza:cec_thumbs:

For studio C it is NOT even on the current DVD. For existing stages, some of them have them as seperate DVDs and are not supposed to play them (They might have had to send them back), but you said you went somtime in late december or very early january right? This has taken effect starting with the January show.
All of that is info I got from other threads

Not quite sure as to why you would do 2 birthday shows in a row like that, but hey, if it makes the boat float.
Also, thanks to whoever it was that merged my previous posts.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but didn't these two new shows (the new birthday show, and the chicken dance), come together in on a DVD in 2007? How could they not be on the same dvd if we have them?
...Or am I getting confused?

lol.. yes, you are getting confused. Chucki233 is referring to what Larry the tech said about still playing the Eddie Coker bday before the bday extravaganza. ( which to me makes no sense.) Chucki233 is correct about Studio C not having the Old birthday star, Spanish bday and Eddie Coker bday on the DVD's anymore cause they are no longer an option on the M.C.P.
The chicken dance made it's debut for the holiday show in 07. The new birthday show has actually been out since the beginning of 07 and was only released to select test markets. Until now, it was officially released company wide December of 07.
