maybe you can tell me but do the new dvd players come with the touch screen that studio c has? that is so awesome if it does because that really makes it easy to program live and birthday. if anybody has a picture of what the dvd player looks like for the exsisting stages please post. i work at a store that has studio c and i know there are 3 dvd players and a regular computer with disk drive.:D :D :D

No, they just switch out the VCR or a JVC DVD player. The setup DOES come with a 13" monitor that sits on the computer rack. The TV's included so the tech or showroom attendant can see the menu and select live shows or birthdays with the TV's remote contol...:p

We just switched over in Danvers. The menu screen plays out in the showroom though! Everyone can see what we are programing for upcoming shows. Im not sure this should be happening...

I THINK the only way around that is to hit the reset button but I am not 100% sure on this

That is correct. But its not really a problem for the guests to see what you're doing, it is a pretty menu screen :-)

I am really enjoying our new DVD setup. The great thing about the DVD's is that they don't wear out. Ever walk into a store and hear the pops and static from a tape that is wearing out? Never again!
The reason for the previous 60-minute backup was that it could be played in a regular VCR until a replacement JVC VCR could be exchanged.
With the DVD players, you can just go buy another DVD player when that one breaks and toss it in the trash.
In a way I am glad that there isn't a DVD version of the generic shows because the cast tended to only play the current showtape for a month and then they would play the generic show the rest of the time. That bugged me just as much as turning the volume down so that no one can hear it.... on a Saturday.

I love the new DVD system because you can control it better. Like for example, if there is a song you just don't like, you can just take the remote and SKIP IT. And it will go on to the next one. Or, if you like a song, you can just go back to that song over and over and over again!! :rollin
I did this one day with In My Pool before opening. Let me tell you.... my whole store HATES that song now. LOL
